Used this on my old phone, installed on new phone and it says my Mini isn’t supported (VIN). Completely useless if I can’t even add my vehicle.
Privacy concerns
I don’t see why you need access to my local network to connect to my WiFi for updating vehicle software. You don’t need to scan my network and see what other devices I have. The car just needs the internet to download the new software. Please remove this requirement.

“Intrusive, Buggy, and Unusable”
This is one of the most intrusive and frustrating apps I’ve ever used This is one of the most intrusive and frustrating apps I’ve ever used.
I removed my car from the app completely - and it STILL continued to take over my phone every time it connected. That alone tells you something is seriously broken.
The app repeatedly:
• Launches itself without permission
• Forces media apps (like Spotify) to open
• Interrupts whatever I’m doing on my phone
• Triggers Face ID/passcode prompts out of nowhere
At times, I couldn’t even use my phone normally because the app kept hijacking the screen.
I actually wanted to use this app because it has useful features. But the experience is so aggressive, buggy, and disruptive that I had no choice but to delete it entirely.
For a brand like BMW / MINI, this level of software quality is shocking. The car feels premium - the app feels completely unfinished.
If your app interferes with someone’s ability to use their phone, it’s not a feature - it’s a problem.
Until this is fixed, I cannot recommend using it at all.

Can’t link Mini
Trying to link our new mini countryman 2025 in app. After we add VIN, It has us scan QR code. It links in mini and shows our profile but it says no mini id linked. Also in the actual mini app it still says add a vehicle. It didn’t link. We’re trying to set up our digital keys and this is just a bad experience.
Absolute Junk
How does one set up the app as a co-owner? Second driver gets treated like a teenager, this is absolute garbage. Fix it.
The Mini Car app disconnects frequently
I am sure this relates more to the app in my Mini than the app on my phone.
The Mini app will fail to connect to my iPhone about 33% of the time, causing me to re-pair the phone and car. It has also started to stop using Car Play, causing me to have to re-set up Car Play every time I start the car.

App doesn’t work
I have been trying to pay my mini financial services loan from this app and it doesn’t load. It doesn’t work. I keep having to call to pay my bill. Fix it please.

Incompetence meets arrogance
Authentication appears to have been an impossible challenge for the Mini app team. Here is an idea: assume your stuff is gonna fail and design for that!
It’s not reasonable to display “sync failed please login” multiple times during driving, only to tell me I can’t do this while I am driving when I tap to log in.

It’s not reasonable to fail to retain authentication status in the app, and ask me to login repeatedly.

The software in this car is so inconsistent. You never know what you’re going to get when you drive it.
Not as good as other brands
The app design is not very useful. It doesn’t display all of the cars info, and if you want to access the car through the app it will take a long time. Could definitely do better.

Some version of he app is stuck insisting on update. Update requires iOS update. There is no update available for my device.
I was contacted, told version 5.6.3 of the app would be updated to support the old ios version my device is running. But he app still does not open, sends me to the update page.
I guess the developers assume I want to hunt down some version of the app. Nope.

For some reason, the developers at MINI completely neglected to plan for the use case that their cars will be resold and that digital keys will need to be set up by secondary owners. Every bit of me wanted to love MINI and I was led to believe that they were a company that cared about their customers, but I see now that I was wrong. Very wrong.
App works for dumb stuff. I want to use my phone as a key. I can’t. After spending 10s of thousands of dollars, I can’t prove to the car that I own it without shelling out more money.

Please QC prior to releasing
One example…I click on my dealer services that list my dealer name and a map comes up with my location and zero details about my dealer. This seems basic, so not sure how this passes any QC. The BMW app is leaps and bounds better than this.
Missing Visors
Where’s the driver’s side window visor? It was so hopeful when it’s crazy sunny out. And if that was too much to design into the 2025 mini copper then you could’ve at least put an extension on the front window visor. Or had it swivel squarely to help with the annoying sun on your face.

Maybe it will work today?
I have had my Mini for 5 months. The app has had to be reset. The car has had to be reset. Mini support has now escalated the issue and now I will wait “3-5” days for more help. It won’t even lock or unlock my car.
Naggy about future service
I have a brake service due message that appears at the very top of the app. It’s due 6 months from now! The reminder banner is ridiculously early.
WHERE DID MY WARRANTY INFO GO ?
On all previous versions of this app, I was able to access all of the current warranty information for my MINI. WHERE DID IT GO ? And if you got rid of this feature, WHY would you do such a stupid thing? Also, why do you refuse to allow this review to be posted?
