Forms that waste your time
They make you fill a whole form just to ask for money at the end.
They should warned you first so you dont waste your time

The first thing you do is ask for money. Not a start which inspires confidence.

Very unreliable entries
I have kept on entering debts in and also income in that disappear on the spreadsheet. This app is extremely unreliable and makes it useless or even dangerous.
★★★★ Waywhip 2/3/2025 v10.2.3
Recurring payments and income is not working
Recurring income and payments do not show up in the future projections but the program says it is set for recurring. This makes it useless to do projections. It used to work. I got very poor support the last time I tried to solve a problem. Also projections on go to one month (when recurring worked) which is very limited.

Support unhelpful
While saving a transaction using the MoneyCoach the program would crash. I sent an email to the developer. His response was that I need to make a video of the issue. I explained to him that my personal information was on this and I didn’t want to send a video. I asked him if we could work through this a different way. His response was no this is the only way he couldn’t figure out what kind of transaction it was. it seems to me that he could’ve asked me What kind of transaction it was. It is unfortunate that he is not flexible enough to solve problems with the needs of his customers as his priority. I have to rate this low as with no support and my program crashing it is useless to me.

Could Be a Good App IF IT WEREN’T SO PRICEY
You can only have one “account” (ie. debit card, credit card, checking, or savings) without spending $9.99/month.
That seems to completely negate the entire point of having this app. I doubt I could save more than $9.99/month using this app. And even if I did there is no proof that the app is the cause or if it’s merely a coincidence.
Honestly, it’s not that worth it. I get that they have to make money somehow, but I think a MONEY SAVING app shouldn’t COST THIS MUCH, or should be a flat-out paid app.
★★★★ honestabe11234 5/25/2024 v9.5.17
Warning for new users
Would be a lovely app if it wasn’t for the constant “50% off claim your offer” pop ups. Literally press one number and it pops up. Every single time you use the app. So if you have more than one transaction you input a day it gets real annoying, real fast. And the app didn’t use to have the pop up but now it does and it’s making me hate the app honestly.

Certainly not Mint.com
It was so easier with mint.com where you can sync up your financial account and it does the rest. That way you can actually customize the names of your purchases. But this applications doesn't even do that. You have to do it manually you can't even have an option to do so anyway so why bother with this application?

Come on guys. Don't hide a $30 price
Don't wait until I download to find the price. That's sketchy. Lost a customer by pricing yourself out.

Fancy, not functional
11/1/22: I wanted to try a new budgeting add as I have outgrown my old one. First off, icons and text are so large that very little information is visible on screen. You can only have 2 types of accounts, savings or other. There are no other options. Accounts can’t be sorted, so checking, savings, credit cards, loans, investments, etc. are all mixed together. Budgets are the same way. All categories are just int one big list. It’s a huge mess. Budget categories are huge and only 4 are visible on screen at a time. All transactions are assumed cleared, which is a problem for people who record transactions daily, but also record them as the day the clear, not when first visible. Some buttons open a pop up that can not be closed unless you go though a whole setup process, even if you don’t want to set up something. You have to pay to sync data and all you do is backup the data. Sync mean synchronizing, like between 2 systems. Not just saving to iCloud. My iPad and iPhone created 2 independent files that don’t sync. All in all, this app was made to look fancy, not be functional. Guess I will be filing the cost of this app under mistake.
★★★★ Joemoeyo 10/9/2022 v8.0.2
Not user friendly
Tutorial is useless. Downloaded and deleted but only after being asked to pay for the annual “pro” mode. Highly recommend avoiding this one.
★★★★ Altiphone 9/20/2022 v8.0.1
Terrible app
Virtually everything you do in this app is just a misleading feature that appears to be useable but is really just going to force you to upgrade to a recurring subscription fee to use it. If I could actually use the app before subscribing I might consider it but I got far too frustrated that I couldn’t do anything without being prompted to pay first!

Doesn’t work in U.S

A savings app that costs money
An app to save money that costs recurrently. A joke. I can understand supporting the developers, but this app asks for money to do anything. I can’t change the currency of the main account, can’t define the default account, can’t set more than 2 budgets…app costs are added to any practical functionality that makes life easier to the user, this is a “dark pattern” in UI/UX design, ethically bad practice.
★★★★★ ObadaJabr 1/17/2025 v10.2.1
Limited functionality for people who bought the app
I bought the app long time ago, when they switched to subscription model the removed my premium features and now it keeps asking me to get premium.

Not Really ...
10/6/23 - I'm pretty happy with MoneyWiz, for about the last four years, but, MoneyCoach caught my eye and I decided to give it a try. Compared to MW, MC is more elementary looking, but still gives most all of the basic functions one would probably be looking for in a home-accounting app. My decision comes down to subscriptions and how little they actually do for the end-user in about 98% of all consumer software development, (professional too). In the case of MC I made a couple of requests for tech support via email and both times was met with what I would describe as reluctant suggestions. So this developer, like so many others, wants me to pay them something between $50 and $80 USD per year, perpetually, while having no problem asking me to wade through hours of online tech info in the hopes of, maybe, finding an answer to a couple of simple questions. For the record, my time is also worth money. If anyone is curious about MoneyWiz, their tech support always responds with upfront help or requests for more info so that they can better help. Their online resources are also available and easy to access. MoneyWiz is $10-$30 per year less expensive than MoneyCoach and at least as good. All of these subscriptions have to come to a halt, and MoneyCoach is prime example of why.
