I’m so mad at this platform…I’ve been using apps since they were invented…just say NO….just saying…

Charged after canceling subscription and horrible customer service
I canceled my MuseScore subscription, yet I was still charged afterward. Despite providing proof of my cancellation, MuseScore has not resolved the issue. Their customer service is incredibly frustrating-it’s nearly impossible to reach a real person, and the automated responses don’t address the actual problem. As a result, I’ve spent far more time trying to resolve an unauthorized charge than the subscription was ever worth.
Where is customer support
After being charged for a subscription that I did not want, there is now no subscription. I have contacted customer support, but jo response even after 2 days.

Purchased 1 time and there is no conceivable way to cancel. App is horribly cluttered and hard to find what you are looking for. I found where my card is stored but no way to delete it. It seems like a good way to scam people out of money without an easy upfront way to discontinue a subscription.

Came to the site to get midi files to learn with interactively and just got pdfs.

horrid app
i’ll start be saying the website for this works completely fine. the app on the other hand is horrible. it locks everything behind a paywall and makes you pay for anything if you want to play your instrument. why do i have to pay 7 dollars to see one piece of music. like seriously bro

Deceptive Information
Decided to give this a chance. Right off the bat, I was asked to do a subscription; even though the app states that I can get “free” music . All I want is a place to purchase sheet music to download because music stores have none and tell you to go online.
Didn’t recognize subscription
I totally didn’t recognize, but I was paying $44 of premium service without any notice in advance. I bought a dollar piece of music seat and I didn’t recognize any of contract that’s gonna be paying 44 bucks several days later. Probably there were a script that saying so in a small letters, but I don’t like this.

Was falsely advertised the pro versions of the sheet music for a year subscription at $45 for a “special deal”. Upon purchase I did not receive the pro but only the amateur sheets. Guess I’ll stick with sheet music direct and request a refund through Apple.

Double charging account for Pro+ across devices
MuseScore as a platform is great and it’s the best place I know for creators and transcribers to share their work. I don’t have anywhere else for this breadth of sheet music I would go to.
But, they constantly have upgrade messages in my face that I have to dismiss several times in a session. One of these caused me to upgrade on a different device and I ended up with different end dates for two different subscriptions. And now it’s so confusing that I end up subscribe and cancelling atleast twice a year because I can’t get transpose to work on one device or another. I’m happy to pay, once a year and not be bothered after. Not multiple times and figure out this dance every time across my phone and tablet,dismissing upgrade offers every time. It just takes away from the joy of playing.

Ripped off
I signed up for a free trial and then canceled about an hour of trying to use this. I was still charged on my credit card for a subscription, even though it was long before the trial period ended.
They also keep trying to up charge you for intermediate and more advanced scores plus many of the scores available are wrong.

Practically shovelware
This app is garbage. It messes up the formatting of scores, makes the audio sound bad, and tries to charge you at every turn. Tried to listen to it with my phone off, but that’s paywalled. Tried to turn on the metronome, but that’s paywalled. Tried to use the mixer, but that’s paywalled. Tried to make a sandwich, but that’s paywalled. Tried to write a review, and they’d paywall that if they could. Every day, a new feature gets removed. I miss back when Muse Group was a small group of people developing music products. Now it’s that goddamn monopoly Hal Leonard. I forgot that apparently, antitrust laws don’t apply to trusts and monopolies, somehow.
Unwanted payments
I have had this app for years and I have only bought sheet music off of it twice. Last week I bought a transcription for an etude and it only costed me a dollar. I didn’t think anything of it until I receive an email saying that it was trying to charge me an additional $45 because of a subscription I didn’t know existed at all? This app has changed horribly with its paywalls and customer service and support.

Impossible to cancel membership
I have been trying to cancel my account for 3 months. Yet they happily continue to take $44 from me. Frustrating.
App has changed so much for the worse
I have been an avid user of musescore for over 10 years. Over that time I watched what was the single best option for online sheet music, whether you are writing or trying to find some, into arguably one of the worst. The way the “super ultra mega god super saiyan pro tier” or whatever they call it since they have a million tiers, is still a great product in and of itself, but over the course of this website they have only really added a very minute amount of features. And yet over the course of this product it went from being completely free to a 200 dollar yearly subscription. I remember when they first introduced the paid function. They literally took what was the free version and turned it into paid, and then restricted the two or three most important functions. I was young with no money, and gearing up for music school. So my main website I was planning on relying on was taken away from me and I had to beg and plead my parents to pay for sheet music software that they didn’t have the money for.
TLDR musescore doesn’t care about musicians anymore and Turned their free amazing product into a giant middle finger for 200 dollars yearly.

Pro subscription doesn’t get you much
I thought I was signing up for seven day free trial but somehow it charged me for the year for $130. Then I thought fine, I will just use it. But little did I know there’s so many different tiers and the mere “pro” access only gets you to the courses, and you can “look at” sheets. If you want to download the sheets, you need to pay more. If you want auto scroll, you need to pay more. It’s really masked with tiers that’s just constantly asking you for more money.
Difficult to work with
In my experience with this app zooming in on a specific part of the sheet, nonexistent and if you want to turn down the other instruments BOOM you need premium. Not worth the struggle

This app used to be amazing… it’s a hot mess of greedy nonsense now. Dont give these clowns your money. The app can’t access information from the web…it just takes you in circles for subscription nonsense. Really hate how these greedy devs ruin everything. Took the “pro” subscription, and added a “pro plus,” taking away features from the previous version.

It all feels jumbled, they should just make clear tiers of services from the very beginning. I’m not saying this is a scam, but the Ui and user experience feels like every interaction in the app is to get into my wallet, and the actual service is secondary.

Everything about this app is about deception and deceit. Search for songs that are free to download? Oh it’ll be $5 to download them. Want a free trial of their nonsense subscription? Well it’s $3 now (was supposed to be free) but if you don’t cancel in so minutes it’ll be $50 for 3 months.

free trial is a pointless scam
This app may function for those willing to spend quite a lot of money for continued access, but if your goal is to get a single piece of sheet music for an audition or something, the free trial won’t let you do it

Amazing app providing awesome music. The main problem for me is that an ad for their subscription pops up constantly when you are trying to listen to the music. Please change this, it is very very annoying.

I like it when advertising is actually truthful, not a clickbait headline to make you forcefully play for something. Your better off just using the website than this app because there you can actually getting the app, because at least there you can see what and where you have to play without having to learn how to read music. MuseScore team, if you ever see this review, A, don’t you dare even think of deleting this review to make yourself look better than you actually are, and B, please consider locking some things behind an ad-wall instead of a pay-wall, like the metronome, because why of all things to put behind a pay-wall than a metronome. Thank you for your time and letting me rant a bit.

I started the free trial and used it to get some sheet music. I liked it so I kept it. It was $60. Here’s what you get for $60: 50% of all sheet music- not free and one course for learning. When you look at the courses it seems like you should get one whole course for free. Nope. It gave me one LESSON. One video out of the course and that video was the introduction to what the course WOULD teach me. Absolute waste of money. I hope no one ever gives money to them ever again.
Don’t forget to cancel your auto renewal!
Today I had an auto renewal subscription that I did not want. They make it hard to find where to cancel your subscription and to get a refund. So just a warning, CANCEL your auto renewal. They will charge you and not give you a full refund because they claim it’s in their contract.

Crazy! Tried the 179.99 a year option. Subscribed and found a song we wanted to play. It was then asking me for another 60 dollar subscription to access it. Immediately cancelled.
Payment issue
The music is great but the app has charged me for an annual subscription two times in less than two months, and it still gives me all kinds of messaging within the app that I need to renew my subscription and upgrade to pro+. I already have it. There is no one to contact for support, only an AI Bot. But in the AI bot you can’t type anything, it only allows you to select the prompts it gives. I finally found one spot where I could send a message and type it, but once I did that I could do nothing more. I want to continue the music content but they are overcharging me and the accountability seems to be zero.

Biggest scam ever
I just downloaded a music sheet and forgot to cancel the free trial. They charged me with over $40 for 3 months. The only service in this subscription is that I can see instrumental courses for beginners (that I don’t need).

Company doesn’t care anymore
Used to be good but lately they don’t care. No longer a by musicians for musicians app it’s fallen prey to the subscription scam. I paid for the subscription and they changed their tiers and I’ve now lost access to scores unless I fork over even more money. My subscription is still active and restored but they no longer honor it since I paid for a year at a time. Salt in the wound is that scores no longer respond properly, they freeze and won’t respond to page turns, often jumping multiple pages at a time. I’m on the latest app, latest m4 iPad Pro, latest iPadOS so there’s absolutely no excuse.
In app purchase won’t register
Aside from this app basically screaming at me at every single moment to purchase some sort of subscription, when I finally do purchase a song, it never registered in the app. When I try and use the premium features for that song I own (and yes I made sure it was the correct one) it still asks me to buy it. The charge has shown up both on my apple account and my credit card.
Moreover, when you purchase a song and you forget to add it to your favorites, good luck ever finding that song without searching again. Why do purchased songs not automatically go to a favorites section?
