Poor App

The app constantly crashes when watching a video and doesn’t save your place from where you were when you go back in. It doesn’t have a calendar to plan your workouts out for the week like other apps do. I like to choose the workout I am doing each day, based on how much time I have that day and my cycle phase. I don’t need an app that picks my week for me. This is just an advertisement for Melissa Wood’s affiliate links to sell workout clothing and supplements. There are other better, fitness apps out there that are client focused and not just trying to sell sell sell. The Glow Method and ALO moves seem to have it figured out. I’m not here to do online shopping. I want to do my class and get on with my day.
App crashes constantly
Can’t get through 3 min of a work out with the app crashing. Either the screen going black or just logging me out. Really frustrating because I love these workouts.
App NEVER works on iPad
Got an iPad just to do these workouts and the app doesn’t work, you can’t use it, don’t waster your money. Hope this helps!! :)
Impossible to Cancel Membership
This is the only app I’ve ever signed up for that cannot be canceled via Apple Apps store/subscriptions. I realized it had been on auto pay after months of not using it. I then went down a rabbit hole to cancel it and couldn’t figure it out as I didn’t have my login for the website. I emailed support. They wouldn’t help me to cancel the subscription nor refund me any of the unused months. It’s unfortunate that someone who just seems so amazing is running a business like this.
Greed
Membership price increase is drastic and no longer affordable. Hard pill to swallow against the obvious lavish and materialistic lifestyle Melissa lives (view her Instagram). Her authenticity is fading, it’s becoming clear that the $ she receives outweighs keeping followers.
Does anyone remember when she cared about representation and diversity for like a week, and added all these women of color to her app as instructors? I’ve never heard her mention them again.
I just can’t help but see her as greedy and phony anymore, if an instructor is going to motivate me they need to be inspiring and real.

So much trouble with the app
I love all of these workouts but the app itself is so glitchy and buggy. It’s such a shame because I love the instructors and classes.
Used to be better
I used to love her, now since the app has changed it not good. Doesn’t go to full screen and she added a bunch of other instructors. I only want to pay for Melissa the others just don’t do it for me. Had to unsubscribe
Bugs on app
Too many bugs on the app keeps logging me out and I can no longer use the app even after downloading it multiple times keeps crashing .

Buggy
Really loved the old app/platform - never had a bug. The new platform has so many bugs that I can’t even see what class offerings there are. I really, really love Melissa and her classes (would do them every morning), but the app makes it near impossible to navigate through the class offerings.
App is awful
There is nothing more frustrating than a glitchy app. Time and time again, it’ll say my password doesn’t work but I’ll exit and go back into it and I’m already logged in……. Or I’m half way through a workout and it stops and says my session has timed out, and I have to exit the app. It’s ridiculous
Free Trial Fail
I signed for the free trial to check out the app but none of the classes would play.

Been a subscriber for years and can’t get into my account on any platform. Really unfortunate.
Locked out- new app is trash & no help.
I’ve been a loyal MWH subscriber for years. The new app suddenly booted me and I couldn’t log back in. “Try again after sometime.” I have tried every single way to login- diff devices, deleted and re-added app. Nothing works. Their customer service is terrible. I have been begging for them to elevate my issue or provide a number so we can fix it without me waiting days for a reply w a response that doesn’t even work. I canceled my subscription per their advice and can’t even make a new one or log back in. It’s a disaster. And worst part is I can’t work out. I thought I missed the simplicity of the old app and the ability to just have Melissa teach, but now I just miss the app even working! How can such a successful company have such a terrible new platform and even worse tech support?! I’m so dissapointed.
Be nice if the app worked
Signed my wife up for an account, paid for the year, downloaded the app aaaaaaand the app doesnt work. After login “unable to manage your response, please try after sometime”. Login works on the website. Not off to a good start!
The new app is GARBAGE
The new app is garbage and I have been emailing customer service because I have been over charged for my membership and I have yet to get a response or any resolution. MWH was so much better when it was just Melissa in her little studio and now they obviously don’t care about long-term customers.
Worst customer service
They have the worst customer service. My account suddenly stopped allowing me to stream videos. I contacted customer service they told me to update the app and when I responded that it had not fixed the issue they simply discontinued our conversation. I tried a second time to reach out and again told me to update the app which I told them I had already tried in my initial message. So now I’ve paid for something that is been unusable for me for over a month. They don’t seem to care.
APP DOESN'T WORK FOR LONGTIME SUBSCRIBERS
I have not been able to access any classes or any premium content on the app since their update even though I still have an active subscription. I've been emailing their team for weeks. Zero resolution. I'm still being charged and can't access what I'm being charged for. If you're going to do a huge tech overhaul you need to make sure existing accounts still have access. So unprofessional to make customers jump through hoops because you implemented sloppy tech.
Can’t login & No customer service!
I’ve submitted an email in their contact form twice and still haven’t heard back. My subscription was paid in full in Aug 2022 for the next year, but ever since the app updated, I’m not able to login. How can they have zero customer service?? Either give me my money back or give me access.
No chromecast option anymore
Very upset that there is no option to chromecast with the app update. Please bring this feature back!
New Version Doesn’t Work
AirPlay does not work in the new app. PLEASE bring back Chromecast which does not have all these issues with pausing and randomly disconnecting. I am going to cancel my subscription if this is not fixed, no way I can get this to stream properly.
Need to fix app
Had loved these videos before the app makeover. Ever since they updated the app my subscription doesn’t work. Apple knows I’m subscribed, but the app still blocks me from viewing any videos, thinking I’m not subscribed. Will have to cancel my membership and give up and use other apps until I’m confident this is fixed and not just wasting money on a broken app.

New update issue
Unable to log into the account I created to in august. At that tie I also purchased the yearly subscription. Enjoy the work outs very much. Hopefully they will fix the issue soon.
New update is problematic
I loved using this app before the update. I have a paid subscription but the “restore purchase” button doesn’t fix it - it just tells me I don’t have a subscription even though I do according to the App Store. Also, the screen only shows on portrait mode now, and I use this on my iPad so having a landscape mode is essential. Please fix these things! I reached out to support and have yet to hear back.
New app update is disappointing
Loved Melissa’s workouts but now the new app won’t cast to my tv and it’s harder to navigate. I loved the simplicity of it before. It felt more home grown/at home with just Melissa and now it feels very commercialized. Reminds me of when tone it up expanded as well. Hope they will fix it or will probably move on as well. Trying to cast it from different browsers etc has taken a lot of time and ruined the “quick” workout aspect of it. Was told they were going to fix it but not given any timeline. I agree with others that the no warning of it all changing leaves a bad taste for the og members. Still love Melissa and want to support her but this is a bummer. Not sure why she felt the need to change it as her workouts were popular because of her and what it was/ not for a million other options of workouts or instructors.
New app launch canceled my membership ; Zero response from MWH
Similar to another review, when the new app launched its now telling me I no longer have a subscription even though I just renewed for $99 in June of this year. I contacted the MWH team and got a generic “someone will reach out within 24 hrs”. No one has reached out and it’s been more than 24 hrs.
My favorite workout, miss the old app:(
This is my go-to workout program each day - feels so good and Melissa is the best and so encouraging and motivating, however I’m really sad about the new update. All my saved workouts are gone, her special 30 day program is no longer on it which I loved to follow. It also is glitchy and will sometimes close out. It can only be viewed in vertical mode (workouts can be shown in horizontal, but the navigation only vertical), upon first update it incorrectly said I did not have a membership and I was unable to do any workouts.

Ugh why the changes
Really don’t like the latest update. It’s more difficult to find videos, see what the weekly videos are, and the app doesn’t allow me to view it in landscape mode on my IPad. Seriously considering trying other workout apps. I liked how easy this app used to function and now that’s gone.
The latest update was a bust
Love the workouts, but the app is unusable on my phone and iPad as it does not allow me to view it in landscape mode. This needs to be fixed quickly or I’ll have to cancel.
I can’t access my account
I’ve subscribed to this app for years, after this latest update it will not recognize my email for login. I’ve checked to make sure my iOS system is compatible. I have deleted and reinstalled the app. I used my email to reset the password and still I can’t login. This is the last thing anyone wants when they are about to do their nightly workout.
Don’t download update!!
I downloaded the app update and now it requests me to pay for a brand new yearly membership (even though I have already paid for the whole year already)! Please fix.
New update terrible
Just spent an hour trying to log into the new experience, very buggy. Nav is unclear when you are scrolling. Even though I’m subscribed, it’s not recognizing that I have a subscription. Also, if you’ve been a long time subscriber of MWH and had your favorites saved, do not update the app- you will lose them!!

This is predatory behavior.
Annual fee increase
Very disappointed the annual fee went up 35 dollars especially at times like this.
Tech issues
The workouts are great but good luck trying to cast, it disconnects and says I’m watching on two devices. frustrating.
Please have some music !
I tried this app and truly loved it but no music while working out killed me . I would totally sign back up if they made this change !
APP does not track progress
This review is for the app. I love the workouts but it is so annoying to have to find where I am in a program everyday rather than the app tracking my progress and having my next workout populated for me. This is a very common feature in many fitness apps I've used and I'm really disappointed in the user face for MWH.
Just Ok
Melissa and the other trainers have great personalities and are fun to follow, but the exercises are not very effective or well planned out. Also, videos frequently freeze up throughout the workout.

Bugs make it unusable
I’m trying to do the post natal 30 day but every time I try to scroll past day 4 I get a glitch and all the videos turn to symbols and I can’t continue on. I’ve upgraded, restarted and nothing changes. Waste of money until this is fixed
Can’t consistently login app and customer service is no responsive
I’ve consistently have had login issues, and can’t use the app. This is the case even with a password reset. There seems to be a glitch. When I’ve contacted the help POC a few times, I have never received a response. I’m giving up and canceling and will use something else for yoga and stretch.
New app is not great
Updated review: Unfortunately, the new app was not ready for prime time. There should have been much more user testing and piloting before this app was rolled out. The interface isn’t user friendly, and I hate that you have to scroll all the way to the bottom and click “view all” in order to get to your favorites. The app feels chaotic, and it is also SLOW. Everything takes longer to load than it should (especially the comments). I dislike the music at the beginning of each video (just get to it already), and there’s an odd black line at the bottom of all of the videos. This app feels underbaked in a big way, and it’s going to cause loyal followers (of many years) to leave.
Favorites are gone: After three years of using this app and carefully curating my favorites over time, they’ve disappeared with the new update. I’m surprised that Melissa and team didn’t think to either carryover favorites, or to warn users that this was going to happen. While I’m interested to try out the new “creators,” deleting all favorites is a big negative of the new update.

I don’t recommend
I’ve been using mwh for probably about 2 - 3 years now. I use to use it just occasionally on days where I didn’t go to an in person reformer Pilates class and noticed it was easy, but assumed I was probably choosing the wrong workouts well… I decided a couple months ago to upgrade all of my workout equipment to bala and was really excited to do more at home workouts with my new set up. I have gone through sooooo many videos and they are all so short I think they may be just getting shorter and shorter. They are also extremely easy and no matter how much I double the weight I can’t seem to feel much of a burn. The length is also very frustrating because I’ll sometimes have to put on 3 - 4 different videos to have a decent duration. I understand not everyone has a ton of time, but there just aren’t any options for if you do without having to go through rest and start a new one. Also the platform change has been awful. The new classes just don’t flow right besides feeling rushed it all feels random. I actually recently found a new platform that offers pilates classes that truly are challenging and also has many great longer ones so for that I’m thankful, but I’m so upset I did the annual MWH membership. Needless to say I won’t be renewing ever again.
Was great until app upgrades
I was loving the classes through this app. It was super convenient for me because I travel a lot and am often not in reliable wifi so I could download classes ahead of time and take them on the go. Since the app was upgraded downloading the classes is no longer an option for me so basically it means I can no longer stay in a good routine with it. Keep being told downloads are coming again soon but it’s been several months.
Liked old platform better
I have been an MWH subscriber for almost 3 years and will probably cancel this month, sadly. The new platform just has too much going on, and I lost all of my favorites with no warning when I updated. I was also locked out for a whole month with no reimbursement and the team just blamed glitches and emails not going through. I loved MWH because the workouts were tough and she was so relatable and down to earth, but I feel like all of the new videos don’t have that at-home vibe, they are always so short, use too many props (I prefer using my own body weight) and even the power flows have too many pauses and child poses mixed in. I tried doing a 24 min Kim Strother power sculpt and really didn’t feel much. There’s only one workout I’m going to truly miss- the 22 minute standing ab that she did on her deck in the summertime but at this point I can probably do most of it by memory anyway. I feel so sad but all of the changes are just not for me.
