I have had an account for 2-3 years. 1400+ books added to the app. I get a new book and tried to scan it in the app and it said that I have to pay for a subscription or use coins. That’s just a money scheme. There are free apps that have the same concept that work just as good. I’m gone.
Could be better
You can only scan so many before you have to get tokens. You can still add manually, but I have so many books that it’s just not practical. you also can’t put in information like how many chapters there are.
Quality of options
I tried the quiz part of this app to try it for a book I already read and it was very inaccurate. It asks about the main character and doesn’t even list it as an option and it you click out of it and try again it generates different names that are still wrong. If you are getting this to review books, I suggest you to find another app. But if you ask for a summary it gives the right name.
Sad
As much as I love the app, the barcode scanner only works for me about two books in a row. The friends list is weird and won’t let me friend some people. It stopped counting my books around 400. The newest update ruined my book list, got rid of most my covers. It’s glitching so badly. I have used the app for over a year and logged well over 600+ books and I’m devastated that it stopped working.

I am furious. I opened my app and was immediately forced to update. When I did, and tried to open the app, an error message popped up, and all of my books have now disappeared. I’ve been using this app for years! Thanks for nothing.

Not working even though it’s the full program. Not bringing over my kindle books
Horrible app
Hard to use. Just an excuse to purchase books through their system so they would get a percentage of the sale. I wouldn’t mind this but the basic data for various books wasn’t available on their system.
It also kept trying to get me to upgrade to the subscription service. This popped up about every 30 seconds. I couldn’t even finish trying to figure out the app, because it constantly popped up. So a monthly ridiculous fee to use a store purchase site. I can just buy direct via Amazon at that point, as that is what they used to populate the data anyway.

Whats with all the glitches now???
This used to be great now they are doing all these “app updates” and it wont accept my email address anymore or let me add cover pictures. On the verge of deleting this thing and finding another one. Fix the issues
Unnecessary hassle of registering
I didn’t even get a chance to experience the app, because I felt forced as a user to register. The app can use local storage instead of your servers and as such I shouldn’t be compelled to register. If this is about making money out of recommendations, that is straight 0 star out of 5.

It works kinda. Don’t pay for addons. I did and they are unavailable. Checked the account screen and got a green check mark. It’s a good running list of books with lots of pop ups.
READ other reviews before you buy!
Don’t make the mistake I did and think this was a good app based on the pictures. All it does is scam you out of a dollar here, a dollar there… definitely don’t waste your money on the “import kindle library” as this doesn’t work..I deleted it after I wasted 5 bucks.
Needs work
Needs lot of work to get any stars. It sticks and doesn’t respond often. Books don’t line up on shelf. Glitchy! Constant request to upgrade. Etc

Scanned my book in and it pops up on the shelf. Showing read? But what if I wanted to track books I own but haven’t read yet? And it is showing author as unknown? Despite the author name clearly on the cover of the book and no way to edit what is there. When you click the book it takes you to Amazon for purchasing the book? Why? If I have already read it why would I want to buy it again? No thank you.
Constant error
This only worked the first time I opened the app. Now every time I open it I get a “too many requests” error message.
Keep loosing book photos
I have scanned my book covers into Bookcase 2 times now from my photo roll….the picture of the book keeps disappearing and reverting to the generic cover. Very frustrating. The whole purpose of using this app is for me to easily view my library by cover.
Sketchy purchase technique
I’m not paying for this stuff. Very sneaky Web 2.0 stuff to take away your features as a free trial. No!
Very poor app
I have tried for 2 days to Cate log my library, but the scanner will only scan 1-2 books then it’s “busy”. Have tried adding books on iPad and iPhone but they won’t sync up despite purchasing the unlimited $9.99/month bundle. Don’t waste your time or money.
Complete loss of privacy
To get started you are forced to create a Facebook account. So, you are packaged and sold by Facebook which( now has all kinds of information about you. Plus being sold, you also get to pay to hand your private data to strangers.

I thought this would a great way to load my kindle books rather than searching and entering them one by one as with the other apps I’ve seen, but immediately you try to import and it asks you to upgrade your account. I clicked on the “add ons” and only paid 3.99 for the import kindle ebooks option as well at .99 for an unlimited books option thinking that would get me what I wanted instead of having to pay 9.99/month for their “Pro” version with other options I didn’t need(besides not wanting to pay a monthly subscription). Well, all this app does is pop up the advertisement for the “pro” version. I haven’t been able to download anything From my Amazon kindle library. All I get is a slow app that constantly pops up the “go pro” ad. Waste of $5 dollars.

Worked great for a while then my extensive list of books just disappeared. There must be something better.
Requires data to be shared with Facebook
Installed the app then learned in order to use it has to be linked to Facebook for “sharing data about you”. Dealbreaker right there, uninstalled.
Unreliable
Works great when it works. Barcode scanning will scan and find a few books, then next scan, it buffers and doesn’t find anything. I close out and come back a little later. It works great for a bunch more books, then quits. Very frustrating.
So confusing
This app says that it will connect to your Kindle e-books, but it is very confusing to figure out how to do that. I even unlocked that feature and it still doesn’t show me and when I click on frequently ask questions it’s just a blank screen. I wish this was more user-friendly.
Visually appealing, but not functional
The app looks great when you load books onto the shelf, but I can’t scroll on any of the tabs. It’s like the screen is cut off. Visually, very appealing, functionally, it’s a waste of time.

I don’t think this is the bookshelf app for me
It kept freezing on me, for one. It said above that you didn’t need to login wit Facebook, but it gave me no choice but to login with Facebook. One thing that I think would be nice is to be able to manually rearrange the books on the shelves into the order that is comfortable for the user when adding books through Genius. The tools were confusing for me, too. I like the concept and the look of the virtual bookshelf, but I don’t think I’m going to renew my subscription.
Good idea, needs a lot of work
The search function doesn’t work. I try to search for specific books, typing in the exact title or the exact author, and they don’t show up. On top of that, I paid to unlock extra details because I was curious about the “value” of my library. They took my money but still didn’t update the value. It added a page count, but not the library value. I tried resetting my app to see if it would fix the issue, but it didn’t. Every time I click to update the value of my library, it’s asking for me to pay the extra details fee again.

Find similar feature completely non-functional
Had a lot of promise, even forked over the money for the full version so I could scan all my books. I then sat down to start seeing what all I could really do. Well, I was most excited about the “find similar books” feature, except that it couldn’t find a similar book for any of my books. I mean, seriously “no similar books found for Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets”.... you couldn’t find the other Harry Potter books???
