Awful waste of money
I’ve been logging religiously for 7 months and it still can’t even predict my period. The apple health app predicts it every time. This app is off by an entire week some times. Still have no idea when I’m ovulating.
Scammy
I bought a subscription hoping to use it after getting off my current birth control. What the app didn’t tell before it prompted me to buy a subscription (I couldn’t go any further into the app without one) is that 1. I cannot use it while still having an IUD (I was trying to get ahead of tracking the cycle so I knew where I was at when it was removed). And 2. My Apple Watch apparently isn’t compatible with the temp reading. The app informed me of neither of these without first making me pay the $20 something to begin a subscription. When I canceled and tried to get it back, the automated chatbot kept spinning me in circles telling me the same thing - essentially “sorry you paid already and nothing we can do about it🤷🏼♀️”. Incredibly scammy. Terrible customer support.
Misleading Subscription Renewal Date & Refund Refusal
I had a very disappointing experience with this company’s subscription renewal process.
I received an email stating that my membership would renew on May 21, so I canceled my subscription on May 21, believing I was doing so at the renewal date. However, I later discovered that my payment had actually been processed on May 20, one day earlier than the date provided in their email.
When I contacted customer support to request a refund, they refused, explaining that the charge was processed based on a different time zone and that cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before renewal. The problem is that none of that was clearly communicated in the renewal email. If customers are told they have until May 21, they should reasonably be able to cancel on May 21 without already being charged.
This feels misleading and lacks transparency. If the actual deadline is the day before due to time zone differences or a 24-hour cancellation policy, that information should be stated clearly in the renewal notice.
I’m sharing this so other customers know to cancel well in advance, regardless of the renewal date shown in the email. I hope the company updates its communication to make the process more transparent and fair.

Scam
Don’t bother jumping through the hoops of trying to get this covered through insurance, you will get denied and NC Support will not help make sense of this for you. This is a total money grab
Super expensive
There is no free version. Only a $150 a year version. No thanks.
NOT EFFECTIVE
I used Natural Cycles as birth control as I wanted to get off my hormonal birth control. I got pregnant within two months of perfect use. And I mean PERFECT use. Please consider alternative birth control methods.
So unnecessary
Worst app ever. I don’t see the need to have it. It doesn’t help at all. I would not have it even for free ! But 160$ ?? I don’t know what happened but the 30 day trial didn’t work and then they charged me for the annual subscription. And you can’t cancel!!! So hard to unsubscribe and manage subscription , just a nightmare.
Trash
Does nothing but tells me about my temperature then charge me $160 for the year and can’t get refunded.
Never Syncs with Oura Ring App
This app sucks if you’re buying it to sync with your Oura ring app. You log into your NC account and it has you open your Oura ring app to sync, tries to load, and then does absolutely nothing. I’m lucky if I can get it to sync after multiple days of trying which defeats the purpose of tracking things every day for your health. Would NOT recommend wasting your money on the subscription for this.
Useless, completely missed my ovulation
This app doesn’t do anything useful. My other ovulation apps are significantly better equipped and less expensive. This missed my ovulation time entirely. It’s a scam.
Doesn’t work with iWatch 3
Doesn’t work with iWatch 3. Doesn’t tell you that til after you’ve paid an enormous subscription price. Will not give a refund. Thank goodness I didn’t pay a yearly subscription! Beware this money trap!!
Don’t switch to Perimenopause mode!!!
There is no way to undo this. They offered to delete all my data and have me re-start from scratch.
Why would you ship something this terrible?

wasted my time signing up
was hoping the app would be free, spent like 10 mins signing up just to see they charge you and there’s no free option. just to track your cycle is insane… i hope in the future they become transparent at the beginning about it costing money so others don’t end up wasting their time too… also unfortunate seeing the amount of reviews saying they make it difficult to get off auto charge and they seem to not give people their money back. the idea of the app is great but i just wish it was executed better in many ways. unfortunate for women.
misleading reimbursement claims
The NC marketing claims show that this is something that is very easy to get reimbursed, however, I am on my third appeal and having no success getting NC approved after following all their instructions. If they were upfront about how difficult the reimbursement process with insurance can be, I would not have paid $139 for the subscription.
Won’t use this app
23$ for a Monthly fee to track your period is CRAZY no free options honestly I’m going to return the ring! I’d rather go with a RingConn where you don’t have to pay stupid fees when not all insurances would even reimburse this.
DO NOT USE THIS APP
Once downloading the application, I immediately realized this application was not sustainable for my cycle tracking. I requested a refund and cancelation, but was told I could not get a refund. I still requested the cancellation and even put a reminder in my calendar for 1 year to confirm I didn’t not get charged again. I did yet again, and they are denying the cancellation request and have no record of the transcript now, of which I was never provided originally. This charge over drafted my account which is the only reason I noticed. They told me I got a email reminder of the renewal, which went to my spam folder, which is fitting. On top of it, they do not have a company phone number or billing phone number connected to the card charge. I filed a dispute with my bank and now it’s a WHOLE thing. GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN.
Hard to cancel
Highly inaccurate and always failed to sync with multiple devices. And then it’s been difficult to cancel. Never sent renewal reminder so paid for yet another year. Customer service is horrible as it’s all automated and someone will contact you in 1-2 business days.
Why it kick me off in the app on my phone and wanting to download elsewhere
I just barely bought the app to track my ovulation temperature on my Applewatch &iphone and it’s just telling me to go to Google Chrome to get download it on something else. Why am I purchasing something and then being kicked off now? How do I unsubscribe so you guys aren’t taking my money? I can’t even log back into the app.
BS don’t Sign in with Apple ID or you’ll never get a reminder email and they’ll charge you again
I signed in with my Apple ID. Apple creates some random email. They say no refunds because they email you, but you don’t get the email because it doesn’t exist. I checked all my records. Total BS! My login wasn’t thru Apple subscription because I didn’t subscribe thru Apple so I can’t get a refund there. If you try to submit a ticket it only goes to the Apple ID random email that I’m already not receiving. Thanks for nothing!!!

Auto recharge
This is a fine app but it auto recharges you with only one notice and is $150. It is insanely expensive and they refuse to give refunds even if you request it the same day of charge. When you are pregnant you don’t use the app so you forget to cancel. They advertise the pregnancy and post partum features but the app is useless in pregnancy/post baby until your period returns. I do not recommend due to this.
Does not work for breastfeeding women
I went through all the questions and put that I was breastfeeding. I paid the subscription for just 1 month luckily because it doesn’t tell you until after that all days are red until I’m done breastfeeding.
Waste of time
I never got to use the app this rating is simply for wasting my time I got through sign up just to find the price per month is almost 13 with no free option I’ll stick to Premom
Going downhill
This app used to be great and when I found it I was so excited. Unfortunately the price increases are absolutely insane I started at $90 a year and now it’s $160!
They notified me over a month before my subscription renewed that the price would increase and I’d be charged for it. It’s inexcusable to notify only once and so far ahead of time. If you miss that one email you are charged $160 and not refunded even if you are not using the app (I got pregnant and wasn’t using it at the moment). No other subscription service I use is that underhanded about price changes and charging without proper notification. This app sadly has turned into a money making scheme that sells your data and intentionally obscures their renewal policy. Nowadays you can just slap “women’s health” on anything and sucker women out of privacy and money. I’m going to buy an oura ring, this app is now outdated and I am getting way more from oura than natural cycles for the money.

Why does the app suck so bad?
<<Updating>> after using for three months. I wish I could change my star rating but cannot. This app is consistently predicting ovulation about 7 days off- saying I’m predicted to ovulate 7 days later than I actually do. When it finally catches up and realizes that I ovulated sooner (even with me tagging that I have ovulation pain on my daily report) it doesn’t update or take it seriously for the entire 7 days later.
Look.. I’ve had 2 kids. My ovulation is painful now. I KNOW when I’m ovulating. My temp rises, why can’t this app understand that my temp rising is the sign of ovulation and fix my projection THAT day???
I’ll give it a few more months and I’m calling it quits.
Be careful if you’re not using other forms of birth control. This app is consistently 3-7 days off for all projections.
I can’t view all my temp data in one, usable graph. It forces me into landscape and is utterly unusable.. there isn’t much insight into my health here either. I was expecting to have more data to look at besides the one screen of using protection or not. Logging your daily activities isn’t very easy either. I just got the Oura ring and have that connected. Maybe it’s the ring causing limitations? I have had my Apple Watch for a long time and maybe using that instead will help but truthfully I’m not impressed at all… the Apple health cycles feature feels more intuitive and helpful than this garbage. Well, I paid, might as well see it thru. Also, btw, the free trial doesn’t exist 🙃
Good luck out there, girls.

No customer support
The customer support is unresponsive and unhelpful. I still haven’t received my temperature monitor, because they use a terrible shipping provider.
DO NOT EVEN WASTE YOUR TIME FOR THIS ONE PLEASE!
Of course it’s another one of those stupid apps that all they want is your money and your information. I’m totally not okay with that. Please take my word for it.
Pay walls
Everything is stuck behind a pay wall. Why do I need to pay a stupid amount of money to track my period. It’s terrible that women have to go through a normal body experience then have to pay to keep track of it. Would not recommend!!
Don’t waste your money
This app is designed to use your temperature every morning to determine fertility (ovulation). Every single month, it has ovulation showing for the 16-17th of the cycle. I know for a fact I ovulate earlier than that, & no matter how much data you add, the dates never change…how effective. It’s too expensive for it to not even be tracking anything…find something better, ladies.
Easy to Use and Ineffective
Got pregnant using it perfectly as a preventative measure.
Not for post hysterectomy perimenopause tracking
It seems that since I’m unable to log periods myself this app can’t track whether a cycle is happening, even with an Oura ring. It claims to be able to, but it hasn’t yet. I was charged for the year without being allowed to cancel and customer service has been unhelpful. This app has zero functionality for me.
DO NOT BE FOOLED
After the app allowed me to fully set up, taking all of my personal information, it wouldn’t let me get past the wearable device section without paying. terrible!
Bring back cycle day on calendar
Please update to be able to clearly see cycle day when clicking on future dates on the calendar like we used to see.
The 2 stars is because recent updates to the app have made it LESS user friendly. More buttons to do the same thing we used to do with fewer buttons. Also the yearly subscription price is astronomical- I have been using this app for almost 5 years and it’s just getting out of control with the pricing. I’ve not seen added value.
Being able to tap to focus during the ovulation test reader would be a long awaited and much needed improvement.

Not taking data
Last few nights my NC app is saying my watch didn’t record enough data, though my watch is fit snug, sleep schedule set, and been sleeping 7-8 hours. The functionality is inconsistent even with consistent variables.
Great for tracking. Not good for ovulation tracking.
Natural Cycles is great for logging temperatures, ovulation tests, symptoms, and cycle trends in one place. The interface is easy to use and the data tracking feels very detailed.
My biggest issue is that the predicted ovulation date is often inaccurate for me. The app seems to rely heavily on past cycle patterns, so if your cycle varies at all, the ovulation predictions can be off by several days. I found it much more useful as a data tracking tool than as a reliable predictor of ovulation timing.
I’d recommend using it alongside ovulation test strips and paying attention to your own body signs rather than depending entirely on the app’s predicted fertile window.

Connecting
I’ve been using the app with my oura ring for 6months now. It won’t connect and give me temp readings unless I open oura app first. This is slightly annoying but no big deal. My big problem with it and why I’m writing the review is, it says I need to update permissions but when I do that an error message shows not allowing it to sync the information from my oura. So it’s not reading the temperature so now it’s just a logging app that I’ve paid a subscription for. I would love this app if it actually worked.
Having problems with the band
I love the app so much! It gives great information and ideas about food and exercise. I’ve been having so much trouble with the band. I chose the band because I liked that I only had to wear it at night. I got the first band and wore it for about a week and half and love it. One morning I woke up and went to sync it to the app, but it wouldn’t connect. I went to plug it in as instructed but the troubleshooting page in the app, but it wouldn’t charge either. I contacted the natural cycles customer service and they sent me a new band (which I appreciated so much) I wore the band for 2 nights. I plugged it in yesterday and it was charging. Then this morning when I woke and went to sync to the app, the same thing happened. I really didn’t want to use hormonal birth control. I was so excited to find this app, but I get married in 19 days and am without a way to track my temperature again. It takes about 2 weeks for me to get the new band so I’m just really disappointed that the bands aren’t a higher quality. And I don’t know what to do.
Juice isn’t worth the squeeze
Granted, I have an Oura ring, but this app basically man-splains what the Oura ring discovers/ the information provides. If you are trying to conceive, it’s really subpar. This
app really has way too much hype. Maybe I would like it more if I just had an Apple Watch/ Garmin. Also, pretty expensive, and wild that the healthcare worker discount only works for first time subscriptions.

Not helpful postpartum
The method of this app only works if you take your temperature after you wake up but before you get out of bed at about the same time every day after a “normal” night of sleep. When you’ve just had a baby, you’re not going to lay in bed and take your temp for a minute when you’ve woken up to your baby crying. There is no “normal” night of sleep anymore. And I certainly don’t wake up at the same time these days. Even if you use an oura ring that takes your temperature automatically, you could be awake with the baby at the scheduled time and it will impact your temp reading.
Lastly, there is no way to get the little notification badge to go away. Even if you’ve already logged your temp for the day and read every info tip and article they send you, you will STILL have a little red “1” notifications over the app icon. Which might drive you nuts if you’re a certain type of person.

Mixed feelings for sure
I was a fan but I do feel like it was overhyped for sure. I was trying to conceive and I was following the recommendations and it keep clocking my ovulation way before I got a positive LH test. I quit natural cycles and switched to the Clear blue app and boom got pregnant that month .
Copy and Paste
The monthly price is way too high for the app to just copy and paste the data from the oura ring. I don’t feel like I’m getting any new information. The rest of the app feels like a magazine with articles and quizzes, which also can all be found outside of the app. I’m glad it works for others, but for anyone that has a regular cycle this isn’t what you need.
Not able to use.
I was really looking forward to using this app, as I’m getting married soon and I’ve been needing to track my period/ovulation. I waited until I would be able to purchase the full thing instead of doing the free trial because of the band. The band was supposed to come 2 weeks ago, and is still not on the way. I put my address in their app correctly, and they were unable to reach my address- they tried again and still aren’t able to make it to me- even though I get packages here all the time. They made me put in another address, which is not my house and an inconvenience for me and others. I’m worried that I waited too long, that that app won’t be accurate enough for my wedding day, very disappointing. I can’t even use the app at all until I receive the bracelet either, so it’s not like I would be able to put in a temperature. Really disappointing. I hope that my perspective changes once I am able to get it, but I’m not even sure I will at this point.
