Unfortunately I had to choose 1 star to be able to leave a review. I have been using VPN for several years now and I have never experienced what I’m experiencing. It keeps disconnecting as soon as I leave the website. Then I connect and soon as I leav its off again. I’m so frustrated with this. It’s been going on since October of 2025. What am I paying for the service for?

Paying for a “static IP” is like paying an additional subscription to turn left in your car. Or a subscription for heated car seats.

App is sluggish and slow
The NordVPN app used to be fast to connect and disconnect. However, the latest app version is VERY SLOW to connect and, even more annoying, very slow to disconnect. After pressing the connect button it may take 15 seconds to establish the e connection. After pressing the Pause button it may take 5 seconds for the drop-down to appear to let me choose disconnect, which will then take another 8 seconds to actually disconnect. PLEASE FIX THIS!

Trash. No free trial and no refund
You have to pay for the service, which is totally fine. However, after paying for the $49.99, the service is unavailable and cannot get any refund from this app. Other vpns allows you to try it for an hour or so, and you can decide whether to buy or not. This one is trash

I just purchased a 1year subscription and have not even used for 24hrs and already regretting it …the reason why I purchased this app is not living up to the task every website I try to open doesn’t work damn!!! This is a wasted money I will never get back am so furious right now 😤😡🤬 I will never recommend this to anyone ..now I can’t get a refund

Rarely works properly
Constantly won’t let webpages load and even with a dedicated IP you still have to prove your human on almost every website. When using GPS and traveling, it will randomly move you somewhere else on the map and take your GPS guidance away effectively making you lost while traveling. My biggest problem with NordVPN is I have to remember to turn it off more than half a dozen times a day in order to function normally with my phone I think NordVPN is a scam.
Slows down every app
I gave Nord VPN a try because I’ve heard such great things about it, only for it to slow down literally every app on my phone. My mail app couldn’t load in new mail for the 3 days I had Nord. The troubleshooting FAQ’s were just unhelpful, and the process for requesting a refund was made so difficult to deter anyone even trying it. I couldn’t even enjoy the benefits from it because it made my phone borderline unusable
Unable to use
Not able to turn on obfuscated servers because the “advanced” setting they claim exists cannot be used on mobile.
Can receive SMS text
Since the last update I haven’t been able to receive any SMS text messages while connected to WiFi. I have to turn off my VPN and WiFi to get text now. This seems to be a common problem with lots of reports of it online

New Mac app is basically broken
Just updated Mac app and multiple problems I did not have before. First, the buttons on the Mac app are often unresponsive. Once they respond, takes a very time (>30 seconds) to connect, and I often see dropped connections. Unless this is fixed ASAP, I will likely find a new VPN.
Won’t respect auto connect OFF can’t use it with NextDNS
You cannot use this with NextDNS or any other DNS resolver. You turn this off and on iOS settings you will still be ON so for example you will not be able to connect on airline WiFi like on United. If you select pause it does not really pause. On iOS settings it is (VPN) still on. Turn it off there and a second later it turns itself on again. Most VPNs like Mullvad will give you a way to add a custom DNS resolver (which is essential for privacy). Nord does it too but not in iOS. It is okay if you could just turn it on/off when needed. But you cannot.
The VPN drops speed after the first month. Right after the 30 day passes the speed becomes unusable
This is a scam, it worked well during money back guarantee term and right after is practically unusable. The customer support refuses to refund. Classic scam.
New UI Update is terrible
The new UI is super slow to connect and barely responsive. This update is taking the experience backwards and sufficiently making it worse.

I purchased an annual subscription to NordVPN and it worked fine for the first few weeks. After that, it suddenly stopped connecting altogether.
Even worse, the app started showing an incorrect location, which interfered with other apps on my device that rely on accurate location data. This created additional issues beyond just the VPN not working.
I’ve tried to contact customer support, but I haven’t been able to reach anyone. On top of that, I cannot even log into my account via their website, which makes it impossible to manage my subscription or request help.
At this point, I’ve paid for a service that I cannot use and cannot get support for. This is extremely frustrating and not what I expected from a paid product.
I am requesting a full refund.

Having issues with many apps not functioning properly with the VPN. I’m going to disable it.
Not compatible with iphone17
While owning an iPhone14 NordVPN was absolutely perfect. I had no issues for nearly a year until I upgraded my phone to an iPhone17 and now the VPN app sabotages my cellular function. I even ended up taking my phone to my carrier believing the device itself was the issue only to discover after hours of several technicians investigating all possible causes that the NordVPN app was the issue. Once I deleted the app everything worked perfectly. I attempted to redownload the app believing it was a fluke and they were wrong only to be in the wrong myself. Clearly with this said, I deleted the app and canceled my subscription but it’s disappointing and upsetting especially when I still had time for my subscription before the renewal.

I’ve had this vpn for years but this new update bites. Constantly disconnects on my Mac and takes forever to reconnect . No problem on my phone but if they don’t fix this bug I’ll be shopping for a new von provider

Slowdowns and interface issues
The most recent version has slowed so much on an M1 iPad Pro that it’s almost unusable. By this I mean that the app interface takes up to ten seconds to respond to taps, and takes a very long time to connect or disconnect. The connection speed itself is the same as usual. The app seems to be broken.

And to be even more insulting, they write that you can’t get a refund if you close your account, but who would trust to keep your clout open if this scammer failed at doing anything EXCEPT of course, taking your money. So go ahead and try this if you want to be scammed. If you don’t like burning money, then DO NOT BUY THIS!!!!!

Hard to use unless you are a computer geek
Constant inability to open regular vendor web pages. No easy to follows instructions on how to set up. A waste of money.

Only used it for about a month then canceled the premium then for the next 2 months I would get suprise charges from nord , do not recommend this app 🙅🏾♂️
Almost Unusable
Since the recent UI overhaul it can take several minutes to connect. It will also randomly disconnect while downloading which interferes with downloads and leaves my traffic exposed. I held off on reviewing to see if recent updates would fix it, and it is still just as broken. Happy to change my review to 5 stars once fixed.
Stops working randomly
It just stops loading everything randomly sometimes it’s every 30 seconds sometimes it’s hours apart but it always stops working and have to restart the vpn at least 10 times minimum a day

This app has allowed our security to consistently be compromised! Data stolen, my settings being disregarded and overwritten. LYNUX consistently being connected when these are not my settings!!!!! Settings constantly being changed without my doing! FIX IT!
Last update ruined the app
Ever since the last major update, the app is unusable. The app is laggy, the UX is really bad the VPN connections are ridiculously slow, and I regret renewing my yearly subscription.

A recent update annoyingly makes it so two taps are required to disconnect.
It also auto-reconnects when disabling from the tray shortcut menu.

Horrible update
Latest updates really hurt this app. It’s slower, the UI both looks worse and axed functionality, and there’s frequent discrepancies between what the app says regarding my connection and what my IP actually is. That’s the ENTIRE point of a VPN. Bad on iOS, bad on MacOS, bad on Windows - this update never should’ve been released. Can’t recommend this app or provider until it’s fixed (or better, rolled back to a functioning UI that should never have been replaced).
Slowed to a crawl with the latest version
For those of you with extremely laggy UI/UX issues, remove the app and reinstall. It appears some of the questions / settings during installation of the update is messing up existing app.

Yet another bug filled update
Yet another update that’s so buggy I have to uninstall it and reinstall. Any why the constant changes to the user interface? I won’t be renewing this service and highly advise others look elsewhere.
Latest update is absolutely horrible.
Prior to the latest update everything was working fine. But now auto connect takes a long time and often fails to connect to a server. Reconnecting is extremely slow and often just fails to connect. The user interface is more difficult to use. This is ridiculous.
