Deceptive
I had a Nord account several years ago in 2023 and didn't need it so I canceled it. I found myself needing a von for a one time use. When I did a search for “FREE VPN” in the Apple Store NordVpn came up. Thinking I was already familiar with the app from before and that if they submitted to the app store that they offered a free version that I would go with that. I just needed something very basic anyways. Next thing I know I get my credit card and they renewed my subscription from years prior. Never did it say would you like to or you are about to renew your subscription. It just did it. And at that it's double my original price I paid for 2 years for only 1 year. So be aware!

Doesn’t work consistently
It worked day one then it worked on 2 out of 3 devices. Not sure what the issue is; our Wi-Fi or Nord VPN? Paid for a year subscription when we really only need 2 weeks of international travel.

Ever since I got nord vpn my phone no longer works I have turn it off to use my phone what’s the point of this.
Disappointed
Was thinking this was a safe bet, especially with a 30 day money back guarantee, but with the purchase on the App Store, you are stuck if it doesn’t work. The guarantee only is good with purchase through the Nord website. The team at Nord tried everything to solve the problem and nothing worked. With purchase on App Store, you get to have the service (that doesn’t work) for a year and then cancel. I work out of country part of the year and wanted to be able to stream my home tv programming from the States. Each try was blocked by my at home service provider telling me to disconnect my VPN. Oh well. This is not the service of you want access to streaming services regardless of location.

Pretty much garbage
Not worth the money. Half the time the app stops you from accessing websites that you can access during other times throughout the day. The second you turn off Nord, you’re in. Other times you can get to the site/app with the VPN. Don’t waste your money. Can’t access basic banking apps, etc. App pretty much picks for you when you can and can’t access them based of time of day. #trash

Too many apps do not work with Nord VPN & on a Mac you cannot make exceptions for apps to bypass Nord.
Nord has made Spotify useless

This is the worst experience I may have ever had with any company. Avoid at all costs. They refuse to help me access my account or get a refund for a service I can’t even access.

When the app is updated it logs you out of your account so your system is unprotected. We let our domain go because we didn't need it any longer and they won't update my email address. They won't get any more of my money.

Wirecutter fooled us all
On both macOS and iOS, this VPN operates terribly. Roughly 60 to 80% of the sites and apps I use every day fail to load if this VPN is active. I imagine this one star review will attract a stock response from the developer inviting me to contact them at their “support” center. There is no contact form at the other end of that URL though. Just self service troubleshooting steps that don’t address the problem.
Awful
Cash grab, greedy app. Also doesn’t work with Firefox iOS, I have to disable the protection EVERY TIME I want to use the web on Firefox. Safari works just fine. This app sucks.
Latest update is pretty bad
This was a very useful and stable app for a long time. The latest update has traded important information for advertisements. One key thing removed is the actual IP address assigned. Who decided that was a good idea? The app is now dedicating more high value space to advertising other Nord services. It’s going downhill.

This VPN used to be fast. Now after 15 mins or so they throttle you. Also the update is cumbersome, makes it hard to fully disconnect.

Using this vpn has been the source of some frustrating moments. It disconnects without warning, blocking the use of Wi-Fi. What a disappointment!

Makes it is hard as possible to cancel auto renewal and then hides the subscription from apple so you won’t even know if your still paying for this scam or not. Customer support is useless .

Using it for world cup watching is useless as YouTube and other platforms identifies you’re on a vpn and blocks the content

I want a dedicated disconnect button
Generally I like Nord. I’ve been a client for years. I hate that they hide the ‘disconnect’ button behind a few clicks. Connecting and Disconnecting should be top level UI. It should even be in the widget. But worst of all: when you want to submit this suggestion there is no contact on their page. You just get redirected in circles around their support site. That warrants a one star. For the money I’ve paid over the years I should at least get the illusion of reaching a support member.

Lately (weeks, multiple releases) it doesn’t connect on startup, just keeps trying for 10, 20, 30 seconds… but when I interrupt the process and click to connect, it does so in less than a second. This is terrible, because if I start the app it means I need coverage immediately. So much for the security I’m paying for. Fix it!
The automated billing system is not as advertised on the website.

I bought an annual membership and have only been able to connect the VPN once. Otherwise it simply spins, saying “connecting”. Very frustrating.

It’s getting worse by the day
For the last six months or so, the experience has gone to hell. It’s become an annoyance to use the app. I never had to open the app for months before that, and now, there’s not one day that goes by without me opening the app to reset the connection. It’s getting worse by the day. No matter what location is selected, it slows down my internet speed significantly and eventually needs me to reset because I can no longer access the internet. I may no longer want to return to this experience after my subscription expires.

Pause in the widget is useless and disappointing.
I’ve been a user of Nord VPN for many years but this latest update in the widget where pause is the option instead of disconnect is disappointing. You have to open the app in order to disconnect. That makes the widget totally useless. Fix it or you will lose customers!!!
