Doesn’t work solely on iPad , need instrument
I bought Note Rush through App Store, very dissatisfied with it. The marketing of app implies its helps with music note recognition , but in no way does the app state you have to have a musical instrument to connect it to, I just wanted to practice visually recognizing notes on ledger lines on on my iPad. App doesn’t allow that. Must have musical instrument to connect to. Very misleading app ad.

Range limited for no reason
Kids who want to start reading musical theater etc. should be able to make a level going down to E1 or up to A4 in bass clef and down to E3 or up to C7 in treble

This app doesn’t work
The sole purpose of this app is to recognize the note that is being played and it doesn’t do this very well at all. I’d sit with my son for minutes while hitting the same correct note over and over all the while the app wouldn’t recognize it.

Cannot get it to calibrate to digital piano
I have a Yamaha digital piano and when it asked me to play middle C I pressed the note, but it doesn’t recognize it. I’ve tried both grand piano settings and electric piano settings, and it doesn’t recognizing any of those through the microphone as middle C. Basically it makes the app useless.

2nd edition broke note detection for bass
Short version: updated to 2nd edition and now it can’t detect notes in the correct octave for bass.
Long version: I teach bass guitar at a public high school and I hadn’t updated this app in years, so I was on 1st edition. It worked flawlessly on that version (was build 155): just play middle C on bass and everything was great, very accurate even in slightly noisy classrooms.
Read about 2nd edition and figured it was worth the upgrade. Now the app asks you to play F instead (4th line Bass clef), but the app won’t detect it (I’ve tried at home in a silent house out in the woods…nothing, and yes the microphone is enabled, you can see the meter moving as I play).
Only when I play F an octave higher does it “work”, but now you have to play everything up an octave from written pitch, which obviously makes it useless for teaching kids. Can you PLEASE restore pitch detection for those lower frequencies, either permanently or as an option in settings?
This app is 5 stars when it works…but until it starts to work again for us, I can’t rate it higher than a 2.
