Constant updates make app more hassle than it’s worth
Unbelievable number of updates! Constantly requiring updates! I am in a professional that has software that requires updates but only once a month sometimes rarely twice a month. This NYTimes app has one every week! And they never tell you what “bugs” they are fixing. Makes me pretty sure that the app and the website are riddled with bugs and useless info! I would stay away from this app!

Who is the genius that decided to only write an update for iPad software versions of 18.0, and higher? I have been using the New York Times cooking app for years but now because I have an older version of an iPad. I can’t use it at all. Absolutely brilliant.
Does not install on older iPads and iOS versions
The NY Times App installs and works on my older iPad and iOS. But there is no alternative that I s backwards compatible with this NY Time cooking App. The install is stuck in a loop - complaining that I need to install and older version of the App, which is actually not available.
Will not let subscribers use if they do not have IOS 18
Why ban prior versions from use if one has an older ipad?
No printing allowed
For $42, I just renewed my NYT cooking app. While I like the recipes, I’m unhappy that I can’t print them for my own personal cookbook.
Please allow old iOS versions to use this!
There’s no reason you need to gate off old app versions.
App won’t work anymore
I used to love this app on my iPad, but today requires that I update to an operating system my iPad can’t update to.
Very frustrating that I can’t just use the old version which worked perfectly fine yesterday!

Disappointed
I have loved the cooking app until the day when I couldn’t access any of my recipes because my iPad can’t be upgraded to iOS 18. I do not want to purchase another iPad to accommodate the cooking upgrade. Is there any way I could still use the old app?
Denied access
Typical NYT arrogance - deny anyone who doesn’t have a mobile device that supports the latest iOS version access to this app.
Required iOS incompatible with device
Looks like I’ll need to spend $300+ to replace my ipad to use this version of NYT cooking - and also NYT Games - gotta wonder if it is worth it.

New disappointing update
I have used this app since subscribing to NYT digital app over 20 years ago. New update will not work on my iPhone 8plus. I’m a senior living abroad on a limited budget getting chemotherapy. I’m not buying a new phone. This update is unnecessary.Cooking app was the only thing in NYT news that didn’t stress me out. Disappointed. Was able to reinstall app with the old running system. I am happy now. Thank you. Now, if you could do something about content in regular NYT that gets me stressed every day THAT would really help me :)
