NOT the same as OBD Fusion
They advertise wrongly that the “OBD Fusion” paid app “contains the same functionality” as this free OBDLink app. Far from it. Explain that there are significant differences where both apps may be required. You got my money for your MX+ hardware over this misleading point. But no high rating.
Do not use
Extremely slow can not get accurate information. Paid 15 dollars to unlock more pids for ford but will still only load half. Not worth it at all
Charged 9.99 without consent
I was charged 999 weekly after downloading this app do not recommend at all
Easy and cheap used with caution
Been using this for a few years on and off for simple things like misfires.
There is a long lag in slow rate on misfires and O2 sensors had me chasing a misfire in cylinder 1 in fact, it was cylinder 2 on the opposite side of a V8 engine
Makes it tough to diagnose when the tool points you in the wrong direction

Upgrade killed it
Purchased years ago with reader. It’s worked wonderfully until a few months back where they decided to put all the features behind a paywall. It’s essentially useless now. I don’t mind a company changing their business model but don’t stick it to your past customers. Skip this and just go to harbor freight and by a reader. No subscription. No payment for each new car you scan. It was a good run guys. Sorry to see it end.
Vehicle was not ready for emissions testing.
OBD Fusion said vehicle was ready for emissions testing, but vehicle failed emissions testing. Mechanic said the oxygen sensor was not ready and that I had to drive the vehicle 200 miles. This is a bug that needs to be fixed.
Can’t clear trouble codes
Fix this garbage
Not for Honda vehicles
Really got Toyota. Other brands have some functions but not all that are advertised
Bad app and slow
This app is slow ash, I even buy the 15$ extra and don’t even erase the code properly, I try 3 times and the 3 times didn’t work
Does not support subaru CVT temp monitoring
Subaru buyer beware. App cannot read subaru CVT transmission temps, which was my purchase purpose. There are free apps that can be found on Reddit that work though. A shame, as this app has more polish.
Not for 2022 Toyota
Have a ‘22 Tacoma. Want to monitor transmission temperature. Well not on this app, apparently. $10 flushed
Not as good as Torque Pro Android
I have Torque Pro running on a very old Android that was given to me. I use it mainly for transmission temperature but have 8 PIDs I monitor on my Chevy Express Van. I wanted to switch to a iPhone but this isn’t the solution. Doesn’t have PIDs I need. It doesn’t import them correctly from the vehicle. I can get all the PID settings I need from Torque Pro. Fusion Is too buggy to add them in the editor and use. I give up. I’m going to buy a newer Android and keep using Torque Pro.
$25 ?? Really ?
Purchased for $9.99 but to get any real functionality, you need to then pay an extra $14.99!!!Really ?? other free apps work better …
Not for Toyota
Do not use if you have a 22 or newer Toyota. It will let you do very basic scans, but not anywhere near what others can do.
Read before you buy
App is basically worthless on IOS you have to buy specific OBD 2 scanners for it work, and unlike the app says it’s not an IOS issue because the scanner works with other apps.
Won’t connect, very limited customer support
Tried connecting to a supported OBD reader and this app wouldn’t connect. Customer support was decent at first but are just following a script. Once we got to the end of the script no further communication
Very disappointed
Very disappointed
Too expensive
I bought diagnostic for Nissan and after I got a new car (Mazda) I have to buy it again. Will never use this OBD again and gonna buy a different one with a free diagnostic
Not worth the money
I purchased OBD Fusion and the Ford enhanced diagnostics based on the developers claim of supporting and displaying mode $06 data. Don’t waste your money if you expect to get a full view of all the $06 data. The app only shows one or two PIDs and lists as ‘manufacturer defined’. Nothing else. A full hex listing would be easy to do.
The Ford enhanced diagnostics for my 1996 model are not complete either. I have the OEM PCM manuals to cross reference and many are missing from the app. The 14.99 up charge for this data is a rip off. A simple example is the cylinder misfire counts. My vehicle has 8 cylinders yet OBDfusion lists only cylinder 1-6 misfire count as available PIDs. Unbelievable. The vehicle data shows 8 cylinders right on the app so they know what should be there.
Learn from my mistake and spend the money to get a pro scan tool that actually shows the data.

Screens are convoluted and not easy to use
Wanted to do live data on O2 sensors which car scanner does and easily but I did not love the graph, saw different graph setups on the App Store page for this and downloaded this, waste of time and money, have added all my stuff to log which took forever to find and none of it shows up anywhere, hope I can get a refund, am using iPhone 12 Pro Max on latest software update , messing with these silly Bluetooth apps totally makes me think buying a dedicated scanner is the way to go, all of this is a waste of time, my scanners are all much more usable, but this app is very convoluted compared to car scanner
Doesn’t work for 2009-2010 ford diesel vans
Even tried purchasing their “extended pid license” for an extra $15, which the app said would work. And it still won’t monitor or provide any extended functionality.
I’ve tried twice to get Apple to refund, both times denied.
So buyer beware. There’s no way to test this out before committing to the full $25 purchase, and you’re completely on your own when it doesn’t work.

Junk
Bought this about a year ago and it worked OK, paid for the upgrade information on my vehicle, now there is no support for this device… it won’t update, it’s still the basic features, but there are no advanced features that I paid for available now, this company as a joke, and they ripped me off
Does not work
I was told to download this app for my iPhone and it does not connect to my obd2 scanner at all
Very limited use for Porsche. For me, useless…
This will only detect engine and emission data. Since there is no enhanced diagnostic add-on available for Porsche, it cannot detect (or clear) basic trouble codes for other things like airbag, abs, srs, etc. the app description is not clear on the limited number of cars that you can purchase add-ones for. I only wanted to clear an airbag code. Waste of money.
Not worth $10
does not have near the amount of pid’s that even some of the free apps have for graphing
Charge on download
App says purchases available within app, but after downloading the app, I was charged 11.01…. Can’t find any details in the app relating to this charge. The description of the app doesn’t list it’s a new aid download.
No transmission temp!!!
Bought this app specifically to have a transmission temp gauge. I seen it has it with add ons to buy. But now I have the app. And no option to buy a trans temp gauge. I have a 1998 Camaro z28. Waisted my money on this!! 🤦♂️. On to the next.
Fail transmission Temp
This app is a garbage just a fancy screen. Same application including when you buy a OBDLink MX+ nothing more than regular scanner.
Don’t cover all brands.

Sliiiick
Ive used this app w/ a fair number of vehicles for years, its pretty amazing and the newer or more fancy a vehicle the more you can see, like on our 2012 jeep wrangler you couldn’t see much but in Jeanine, my 2006 Mercury milan, we cd see a ton of stuff. I am struggling a bit w / my 2020 escape. I’m very ok with that however because I haven’t tried very hard because its not the car isn’t broken and i just got it. This is a complicated app and seems to be quite useful. I’m not sure what it cant do, but I'm impressed with what it can, and Im willing to put in some effort to understand how to operate it better, Im just an average guy that likes to poke around in the brain bits a bit. It simply will mot connect and customer service is nonexistent
Very nice
I like how you can buy a new car program

Disappointed

Not what you think
It’s the identical ap as the one OBDmx link is except it has the add on ability to list certain read parameters on your CarPlay screen, it’s a list only and minimal options. Glad I only wasted $10 otherwise I’d be more upset. Don’t buy it wait until someone makes a better app not modify one that’s already made.
“CarPlay Compatible “
Need to update and allow real time gauges on CarPlay, not just phone. Missed that fine print, never would have bought app if I had seen that first.
Basic menus on CarPlay
In reality when you use it in CarPlay just a few lines show up. No dashboards or gages. Would. It have purchased if that was disclosed.
Wiped all my dashboards
I used to like this app. I spent countless hours building the perfect dashboards and then hey presto, without any warning or changes, everything was reset to default.
Incredibly frustrating. Now I’m uncertain whether to spend yet more hours recreating my work if this app is going to randomly wipe everything.

Disappointed in CarPlay support
This review applies only to the CarPlay support in the App.
While I was pleased to find the integration, I am disappointed in what can be displayed. I was hoping to see a dashboard presentation, like in the App, on CarPlay. At time of writing (28 Mar 2024) I can only see a few PIDs and cannot seem to add or change anything other than the basics of economy, engine temperature, RPM, and speed - all of which I get from the dash display of the cars I presently driver. If other PIDs can be added - such as fuel trim, manifold pressure, or ignition timing, the method to do so is not known to me.
Regarding the general functionality - 5 stars. I purchased the add-in for Toyota. It provides me capability to read all the computer codes and monitor live data. Been using it for years. On one of my cars, which has an aftermarket supercharger, it is the only instrument that allows me to see the boost level (as the SC kit did not include any installable boost gauges).

Car scanner does the same for cheaper
I bought this app hoping it would tell me what is failing it’s test cycles in my non-continuous monitoring system on my truck. But it just gives random codes like $03 cause it doesn’t know what to name the sensors. Don’t pay for the same thing you can get free.
Some readings are way not accurate
I guess you get what you pay for. Using veepeak wifi adapter, the default logged interval is around every 2 seconds. You have to manually adjust to something better at 500ms
But the fuel instant fuel economy from the fuel PIDs is absurd, some normal readings around zero, 4, 6, 20 l/100 km but also some spikes at up to 320 l/100 km. If this is true the fuel tank would be empty in 10 to 15 minutes!!!

Too Basic, No Real Value
I don’t understand why people are enamored with this app. $10 wasted. The bluetooth module will run $28 to 35. You can just buy a plugin for less. Yeah the readout is nicer but I don’t see the value when you add up the cost out the door.
I used it for 10 seconds. I went with something else.

Everything costs extra
You have to pay to read air bag codes. It’s by vehicle. I wouldn’t have purchased had I known
Purchaser
OBD fusion doesn’t offer a Buzz test. This is a test for fuel injectors like on my Ford with a 7.3 Diesel.
