I spent 10-15 and still never got to where I could scan and just deleted app. Weird it would ask to review, before you were even able to make it through the setup.

Of course they make it sound free then you have to pay to scan food to find an alternative option? I encourage everyone to delete this app, save your money and use AI. It’s free and provides alternatives. Olive is out here ripping people off.

I was able to list in multiple places I have a gluten sensitivity. It continually recommended foods with gluten. Additionally, as many others have said, the onboarding is also TERRIBLE, only gives self serving options (such as: click which reason you don’t like other food apps and came to us), and is non inclusive. Shocked at the overall rating.

Misleading Subscription Pricing
I was charged $69.99 for an annual subscription that was not clearly disclosed during sign-up. There was no obvious indication that I was agreeing to a yearly charge, which feels misleading. I only realized after the charge went through, and my refund request was denied.

This app isn’t free and won’t let you bypass to use it at all unless you pay or get the “free” 7 day trial.
Another paid subscription
You have to go through all this junk to actually get to the main screen. A good 2-3 minutes of “I’ll commit”. Instead the app should’ve started clear with what it does specifically and then let you try it instead of immediately getting you to sign up get your credit card information BEFORE you even see it.
Just leads you on
You go through the whole customization process with countless pop up’s and questions, just to have to sign up for a free trial to eventually pay. When the in app purchases are viewed via App Store, only olive premium is visible, insinuating that there is a standard version available when there is not. Probably not a terrible app, but don’t lie it’s annoying.
Ridiculous Survey and Required Subscription Before You Can Even Try It
The app forces you to answer about 110 questions before you can see or access anything. You are also forced to subscribe before you can try the app. Most apps let you close out of the subscription question without forcing you to do the free trial period. I deleted this immediately after the ridiculous survey and you can even see the app functionality to determine if it’s what you’re looking for.

I have an app like this already. I downloaded this one because it boasted that it identified pesticides and toxic chemicals in breads and similar. I downloaded the app and created an account with a free trial and a one month subscription but I was charged. I suppose it doesn’t apply to shorter subscriptions. I wouldn’t have downloaded. This method is predatory and I hate when apps do this bait and switch bs. Plus! None of the breads scanned delineate the toxic ingredients. It only states that no info is available. I’m done with apps. Seems better to just do your own research. Yuka app costs something like $10 for the entire year and this app offers nothing different, if not less. Can we stop with the pricey app subscriptions? $15 a month? Really? No thanks.

When I downloaded the app I did the questionnaire and put in my dietary information but when it took me to the premium membership screen the not interested button was faulty and so small it was impossible to click and would only allow me to click the yes interested button maybe this was just my experience but do not buy if you’re not interested in the membership they force you to have it to use this app.

Accidentally changed to monthly instead of yearly and forfeited the free trial. They collected the $ and won’t refund even though the app doesn’t do what we needed it to, so waste of $…

IM SO SICK of apps making me click one thousand things just to tell me at the end it’s a “free 7 days” … just tell me upfront it’s not free and how much money you want from me . Literally so annoying, immediately deleting.

Would’ve loved to actually use, wouldn’t let me past the 1 week free trial offer without putting in my payment information, which I didn’t want to do. There was no option to exit out or go back or not get the free trial. Very frustrating. Immediately uninstalled.
Free Trail Trap - $69.99 Surprise
Signed up for the free trial but got busy and forgot to cancel. Was automatically charged $69.99 for an annual subscription I never used. Requested a refund twice through Apple - both denied. The app itself may be fine but the trial-to-charge experience with no grace period or usage consideration is disappointing. Be very careful with the free trial.
Loved it but
I loved it but wish I could've paid a monthly instead of getting charged $69.99 in one sitting which was too much for financially at this time . I even tried to cancel my subscription , deleted the app and tried to get my money refunded through Apple and you can't .... " app is not not eligible for refund " so super disappointed and that's $70 I needed .. would've made sense of more of a monthly thing where I had flexibility.

Forgot to cancel the app that have no use for and still no refund from the company. This is common mistake to forget to cancel a free trial , but when you cant even try the app without subscribing and you dont refund when they forget this is called stealing money. 100% of the other apps I forgot to cancel refunded me in the second… a good “holistic” scam
