Caution for travelers
I utilized this service as a secondary line for U.S. business travel, but encountered issues when using it in Europe. The app prompted identity verification by calling my new European number, yet the provided onoff number was consistently reported as "unavailable." Despite reaching out to onoff and my provider, both attributed the problem to the other party, leaving me with a non-functional service. It appears to be a software design flaw rather than a network operator issue.
Warning - No privacy
I am surprised this app doesn’t ask for your underwear size, it ask for all your private information including an ID, you can’t use the app without supplying all your personal info. I want my money back! You have been warned!

This app swindles money, can't be used after purchase, and refuses to refund for any reason. Please don't use it

J’ai payer un numéro depuis déjà 1 semaine et j’ai recharger du Crédit mais depuis ils me demande de Valider mon identité afin d’activer le numéro mais quand j’envoi ma carte d’identité 🪪 ils ne me donne aucune suite il me demande de patienter et quand je patiente et après quelques heure j’ouvre l’application on me demande encore de Valider mon identité. J’ai déjà fais sa plus de 10 fois mais ils ne valide pas pourtant j’ai payer. Et j’ai écrit au support mais aucune réponse jusqu’ici .. C’EST UNE ARNAQUE 😡😡😡 REMBOURSÉ MOI
App Requires Passport Number or ID Card
I was logged out of the app when I updated to iOS 15, and when I attempted to log back in, the app required my passport number or ID card. That seems very risky information to be required to provide I have never been asked to supply that information to any other second number app. I will be deleting immediately.

I tried to use the number to register for online banking. The bank said that the number was still connected to an another person.
Same result with other providers.
I contacted the OnOff assistance less then 1 hour from the purchase open to keep paying for the service, just asking a new number.
They replied to a different question.
I asked again. This time they replied my question ... over 4 hours after the purchase. Just in time to make impossible for me to ask for a refund.
According to OnOff customer service, I should have contacted all banks and providers proving that the number was now mine.
Result: subscription deleted. They lost a customer who was considering to get also their business service for all my employees.
Using an app with such customer care is simply too risky.

Don’t suscribe if you plan to keep your number when you move away. The phone number to get the number ported out does not work, the email support is arrogant and stopped answering my email after the 3rd one

I get notification of text sent to me but I don’t see the contents when I open the app! To see them I need to re-install the app all the time.

I wish I could give this app 0 stars...I bought 2 numbers...text messaging doesn’t work fully. I can send text but can not receive text. I reached out to onoff through every channel possible and did not get a response. I was trying to give them time to fix the problem before I gave a bad review...but here I am. I will be getting my money back for sure. DON’T DOWNLOAD THIS APP!

I want my money back, you should please take your number back, because I don’t get people text, it just a big waste for me. This is a big mess, my text are delivering to my friend but I can’t get their text. That a big rubbish and wasting of money... anyone who is about to use this app, just don’t waste your money, if your friends don’t have the app, and text you from the app, no way they can get your messages unless they call you that all. For anyone who is in the United state and buying purchasing +1 number. I so hate why I just wasted money for 3 month. If possible please refund my money back, I don’t need your number anymore, as I can’t get people text only their call and my text is going through.

A very good idea however there is still a lot of space for improvement.
First of all there is not support behind the link related to it. Messages send since a month now and still now response. This not acceptable when you are paying for a monthly subscription.
Also, the application is not integrated at all on iOS.

Contacts must be added manually because there is no connector to your address book. Just unacceptable.
- NOT TOTALLY SLOVED: the volume is stronger but you still can't use your personal ringtone. Also if your Bluetooth is connected to your phone, the ring will not work. It will be muted.
The ring cannot be personalised. Not a big deal you could say, but the one integrated to the application is so low that you cannot hear it. Lower up the volume? Just impossible.
- the notification on the iPhone is so fast that if you do not catch it it will disappear and you will not know that someone is trying to reach you.
- last but not least, don't expect to use your Bluetooth headset because the application does not integrate this minimum requirement!
If conclusion do not waste your time with this application until the minimum improvement has been made. Waste of time and money.

Doesn’t receive texts from Bank of America
I can’t judge the efficacy of the phone number but it doesn’t work for my purposes, which is to receive bank verification text messages.
Before paying $5
Know that once you pay the money, in order to use the app you have to provide your address and photo of your ID. Until you do so you can not use the number. That is all.
