How to import profile and related files to this app? When I try to import profile, the app says that I need not only .ovpn file, but also other cert and key files. Ok. But there isn’t a way to import these files! On iOS, there is an app called Files. Your app says using Finder! Come on, this is not a Mac. So frustrating!

Difficult setup
Loading from file is frustrating on iPad. I cannot do it. Rethink your software design.

Impossible to import config file
I go to the import config page but it is impossible to actually import a file. There is no button to click or anything that triggers the iOS file browser. Very poor app design. Thankfully, because of this, I discovered better alternatives like WireGuard.
Won’t work iOS
The docs say to import the profile. The menu option does nothing except irritate the user who expects it open allow finding a profile to import.
Killswitch does not work
unlike the expressVPN app that actually does block all Internet traffic once the VPN connection is dropped, this OpenVPN client does not do so. If the OpenVPN connection is dropped, traffic is still going through to my phone's public IP. I have seen many reviews of this problem in this really needs to be fixed.

Can’t use on iOS 18+
When using the iOS App on an iPhone, you are instructed to share the connection profile to the app, be it its saved in iCloud/files or as an attachment in Mail. But when I go to share it to the app, OpenVPN is not available in the list of apps shown or in the full list of available apps to share with that are revealed by tapping the (…) button.
Please advise and I’ll happily change my review. Otherwise the app is full on useless for the vast majority of users.

Garbage
Really poor software. Seems like every update is worse than the last. Nothing about my server or configs has changed yet recently I can only connect to my server maybe 1/100 times. Most of the time I get a timeout. The rare time it does successfully connect the performance is horrible. Server is on my router obviously wired to the internet while phone is connected to WiFi. This used to work flawlessly a year or two ago. It’s been a downward slide since.
Connectivity issues on version 3.5.0
The recent update to OpenVPN version 3.5.0 on iOS has introduced significant connectivity issues. After the update, I’m unable to connect to my home network reliably, which worked flawlessly in the previous version. Additionally, the app now experiences frequent disconnects, even during active use, whereas the prior version only disconnected after 24 hours of continuous connection. This update has severely impacted the app's stability and usability. I hope the developers address these issues promptly in the next release.
Not reliable, disconnects and you don't even know it
This app should be removed from store. It is totally unacceptable to have your vpn disconnected and not even notify the user. A joke app. The developers should seppuku themselves.
V3.5 app blank
When using an on-demand profile, if that profile is connected, when I open the OpenVPN app, the screen is all black. If I disconnect the on-demand profile and then reload the app, I'm able to view it. But as soon as I turn it back on the entire app screen is black

Literally impossible. file share requires all 4 files at once but has no browse button.

Issue
In update 3.5, the VPN keeps disconnecting and reconnecting constantly, and I don't have the stability that version 3.4 had, which is very frustrating.

Where are we supposed use finder on iPhone and how do you drop files? It is impossible to import certificates for peer authentication. It is probably okay to use if you are able to figure out how to setup and configure the profile.

Since we upgraded IOS to 16.5 version, we cannot connect to OPEN VPN app and we have to try so many times for connecting to OPEN VPN app.

Not reconnecting waking up
Version 3.5.0 will not reconnect an iPhone automatically after it has been sleeping or locked and there is no way to use an older version that works fine

Don't update
Don't update. With the new update, I encountered a lot of problems, the main one is disconnection. I have to enter the program more than 100 times a day and request to connect, and after a few moments, my connection is automatically disconnected.

Since I've updated my iOS to 18, I'm experiencing a loop when connecting to OpenVPN or L2TP in iPhone's Settings.
When I connect my VPN, it sometimes tries to connect and doesn't connect although my Wi-Fi or Cellular and that VPN's server is ok.
Sometimes It's completely ok and keeps connecting 3-4 hours as I need.
Sometimes it connects, but right after I background the app, it disconnects again.
Also, whenever I lock my phone and unlock it, it doesn't retry to connect successfully.
The only workaround is to Reset Network or force restart phone, but It happens again after 24-48 hours. And I can't do reset network 10 times a day.
I didn't have these issues on iOS 17.

Dont update
This version has issues; do not update it under any circumstances. When it disconnects, it does not automatically reconnect, and you have to manually disconnect and reconnect each time to establish a connection. Development team, please investigate promptly

The most basic of steps fails: can’t import a certificate. I’ve tried all the suggestions, embedding in the profile, copying in the share screen. It just doesn’t work. Could’ve just added an import file option. Complete fail.

Broken app
The app seems to be broken on iOS. I have tried all the ways to import the configuration file, but none of the methods work. The app also doesn’t show up in the share suggestions, so that doesn’t work either. User support was AI, and just redirects to the OpenVPN web page.

(Iphone) After using this VPN and after disconnecting, my mobile Internet does not work. It shows everything is fine, there is a connection, but there is no Internet!!! Has anyone encountered this problem?

Connection issues
Frequent connection issues where the authorization hangs and eventually requires a restart of my phone. Super annoying because it doesn’t happen regularly so I’m always on eggshells wondering if a site is slow or if my connection is borked
