Terrible Design
This app is very dated and barely functional. Considering I spent $470 on this I would expect it to have basic standard features.
When sending messages you cannot see your replies in the thread. Every other email or messaging service shows your replies.
Video calls through the app do not allow the use of Bluetooth headsets for when you are in a public place. It only allows speaker phone.
Navigating the app and sound anything in it is very clunky and unintuitive. This needs a huge amount of work to bring it up to par and into the modern era.
I tried upgrading to the maximum service for recorded calls only to find I was tricked. Only outgoing calls can be recorded. And I am only allowed to receive calls. OFW refused to refund their false advertising.
Stay far away from this app and company. I have never seen such a horrible service.

Better Free Apps
I have paid $150 a year (due to court order) to use this app, but it has many bugs and problems. You can’t easily track changes in the calendar feature (made by the other parent) because the notifications show up on your phone, but there is no notification feature in the app to track it.
The messaging is not intuitive and it’s extra steps to get to the “sent” messages, if you want to review what you’ve sent.
It’s not a bad app overall, but for the high annual price and its limited features, it’s not worth the cost for how popular it is. AppClose (for example) is equally as good and is free.

Latest version is painfully slow
Latest version locks up frequently requiring the app to be force closed when interacting with messages. Tried turning off the AI review feature but that didn't help.
Auto renewal BEWARE
I did not realize the auto renewal was on as I was not using the app. I requested a refund and cancelation with in 24rs of being charge and they will not issue a refund.
I do not recommend using a company that intentionally has policies to retain money in such a manner.
Update: Terrible customer service

Deceptive refund policy - Do not subscribe via App Store
Be warned: the 30-day money-back guarantee advertised by this company is not honored if you subscribe through the Apple App Store.
Despite their marketing, they will refuse to issue a refund, directing you to Apple instead-who may not approve it. If they intend to exclude App Store users from their guarantee, this must be explicitly stated at the point of sale. Currently, it is misleading at best.
If your co-parent refuses to use the app, you are essentially stuck paying for a subscription you cannot use. Save yourself the headache and avoid this app.

Constant crashing
I can’t stand how this crashes so often and the calendar view doesn’t behave like a calendar.
Very frustrating to use
Very frustrating to use
Really poor app with limited and glitchy functionality. Even worse customer service.
This app is really only useful if you need to track phone calls with your spouse. The other functions are worse than just using a normal calendar or expense tracker. Customer service says you have to go through Apple for support but then Apple says they can’t help you. Newly single moms, please don’t waste your money on this app!
Waaaay too many bugs and poorly implemented features
Seriously, why does it take a feedback loop for talk to figure out what's broken in your app??
No notifications to caregivers even when explicitly addressed on the message.
"Today's entries" on calendar do not show when selected, the automatic date does not match to the day selected so you have to deselect the date filter to view all to see the days entries.
Extraordinarily poor ai "tone meter" flagging things as it has no understanding of context. Messages about swim lessons referring to a child dunking his head under water get flagged as negative for "dunking his head." Useless.
There's no simple way to add a scheduled vacation ahead of the routine parenting schedule, has to have a recurring schedule then places over top of it.
Have you guys just not actually used your app?? It's unnecessarily difficult and flawed.

Horrible app
Functionality is awful, it crashes often, the UX is hideous and not designed for the end user (the parent who BUYS the product). Overall, another company can and should learn from their mistakes and make something better. I’d give it zero stars if I could.
Money.
It’s all about the money. Let’s just be honest.
Terrible performance
The call quality is horrible. The app crashes constantly. It’s nearly impossible to send even a simple three-sentence message without the app crashing repeatedly.
Not helpful
My husband is abusive i signed up to prevent that and it did nothing but make it worse and take money
Too expensive cloud cost, no dark mode
Apr 2026: The app loots money from divorced parents since it charges really high cost for cloud costs per year, the app doesn’t support dark mode and forces user to watch white app always even when in night or during an office meeting in the auditorium. App has a very slow login process. Needs improvement since when we move a file to a folder then the email still stays open and we have to close it by going back and opening another email. Annoying !
Expensive and Unnecessary
I’m already using another app for each of the functions this platform provides; messaging, payments, calendar, etc. only this app does each of those things less effectively, and comes with the bonus of being court mandated. I wouldn’t voluntarily use this app even if it were free.
So if the cost goes up, which I’m sure it will, it won’t matter how sub-par or redundant OFW is, we will still scratch our heads, pay for the app, and add an additional layer of steps into an already infuriating process.

App is a weapon
This app was the weapon my ex needed to destroy my entire life and bill me for thousands and thousands of dollars. She used it to cut off communication and it only gave me not even two minutes to talk to my daughter.. No Judge ordered this. It was just her choice.
overpriced and not user-friendly
For the high price of this app, you would think that they would offer more features and benefits. They’ve chosen not to make it any better at any time because they have a product which users are forced to use and pay for. There’s no need for them to spend any money on improvement or customer service. The worst part about it is the text. It is a medium gray color and tiny font which is difficult to see, even though I have excellent vision. There is no way to change the font, color or the size of the text like you can do in every single other messaging app. Due to this there are always mistakes noticed after a message is sent and they’re very difficult to see. A wait time feature would be very nice so that you could edit your message before it is formally sent. On my caseC my high conflict ex focuses in on my errors and uses them to create a false interpretion of the message or to insult me. Currently, there is no way to edit your messages besides responding to the bad message which then causes the other person to get extra messages that should not have to be sent. And when a high conflict person receives one extra message (no matter that they have sent 20 messages in the past hour) they ignore the original intent and instead start a conversation about harassing with multiple messages. I hate this app.
App
This app is not all that great, right now I tried to open it, and all I see is a white screen no load or nothing, I can not see my messages, and I can’t not call my child, and speaking about my child they want you to pay to call your child, and you also have to pay for minutes that gets renewed every month, and if not you have to pay for unlimited, this app is all about money, they don’t give a damn about you or your child, because if they did they wouldn’t be doing that to people, they would have the lowest rate for unlimited, and not have you pay for minutes, my child is 11 years old, and I am timed on talking to my daughter, and I only get 45 minutes a month, and when you have an ex like I do that doesn’t want to use up her minutes, and lies about everything it is hard to be able to chat with my child.
So buggy
It just wouldn’t update the calendar updates. It became frustrating. Also doesn’t sync with a regular calendar
Full of viruses and not safe
I didn’t want my ex to know my new e-mail address, and this stupid app I’m forced to use gave it to him. I feel like this app has made me more vulnerable than I already was. Also, a lot of viruses have attached themselves to this app and I don’t know how to get them to stop tracking me. Thumbs all the way down, if I could put less than one star I would. And the name ‘wizard’ is against God’s laws so I feel like a heretic using this app.
Terrible
Just an awful piece of junk. Constantly freezes and crashes. I have to pay for this and this is what I have to deal with? Either you’re using AI to write your code and should stop or you’re not using AI and you should start.
Expensive and Buggy
Rough.
Worse
Worse app ever. 👎
Freeze up
The app constantly freezes up esp when writing a long message then you have to shut it down and lose everything and start over
Warning: Will Take Your Money
I purchased the annual thinking this was going to help. The app really looks good and might be exactly what you are looking for.
Unless it’s not what your separated/divorced partner is looking for.
After my ex said she couldn’t afford this app. 3 days from purchase, I requested a refund (payment was the full year).
Developer: has a 30 day refund but presumably only if you purchase from their site. Stated I could only request from Apple since that’s where my purchase went through.
Apple: outright refused the refund. No explanation other than their AI did it and the rep can’t do anything about it. Not even transfer me over to a claim dept or such.
Bank: Denied because of their contact with Apple.

Too expensive
Both parents have to pay. Way to take advantage of families that are in an abusive situations.
Riddled with bugs, quirks. Terrible App!!
Paid $150 for this app, because Apple won’t allow us to record our own FaceTime conversations. This program is filled with glitches, as it is constantly freezing. It’s frozen for 30 to 45 seconds at a time and unfrozen for about 10 seconds before refreezing. Most of the time I’m unable to send messages, as the app will freeze. I’m constantly force closing the app in hopes that by restarting it, it will at least function. But counting on this app to function is a tall ask most times. This app literally does not function. I’ve seen kids play free games that function without glitches. If people are paying $150 for this app, can’t we get an app that functions properly?!
Not worth the price
For so much money a year, the navigation is clunky and not intuitive, it’s a hassle to use and the tone monitoring is a joke. Me saying “Gotcha” gets flagged while my partner can write passive aggressive paragraphs with no problem. There are other apps that do almost the same thing but for free.
Creates More Opportunity for Failed Communication
The app will not communicate with more traditional calendar platforms, therefore if you maintain a work calendar or other personal calendar, you have to “export” events- which dont include all of the event details like which children are scheduled or which parents are responsible for drop off or pickup. You would then have to manually ensure both calendars stay in sync if things change. As a working professional, I find it extremely cumbersome to have to maintain both. This “flagship” feature of this app becomes an opportunity for further issues since you have to maintain multiple calendars. The messaging is fine, but if you need to export a message to a PDF report, you have to login through a browser, that cannot be done through the app which feels like a big miss. Given the annual price tag for this app, and its seemingly universal mandate by courts, I would have expected a much better and more user friendly set of features.
Annoying pop ups
Your app is asking if I'm happy with the app EVERY time I click the home button. Very annoying and clearly poor UX testing
Vessel for Abuse
This app is actually terrible and the fact that I paid for it is the most embarrassing part for me, but also it should be embarrassing for anyone who has created and worked on this app to know they consciously made choices that turned out to be absolutely convoluted and benign for users. This app follows no logic and actually gives physically and mentally abusive exes avenues to continue to harass domestic violence survivors, so with that in mind it does make sense why Family Courts love it so much. Do better or don’t, I guess either way suckers will still have to use it, but don’t expect anything but scathing reviews and comments from me.
Sincerely,
Your biggest anti-advocate
PS -refund my money.

Too expensive
Lower the cost of the app please
Expense tracking
The update to expense tracking is horrible. We don’t fit into any of the categories listed and I can no longer make an expense in the “personal” category that would allow me to put in a custom amount based on our agreement. It just says that I owe $0.00 even though I select my ex as owing me for this portion of an expense. This makes things very unclear in expense tracking. Not everyone fits into 50/50 scenarios of splitting expenses and there is no way to enter custom %
Refused to refund my money
My child’s parent who demanded that we use this app stopped paying. She is still able to use the app. I reached out within 30 days to request a refund since apparently it still works without paying anything and they denied my refund. There are other alternatives and they actually help their customers. Buyer beware!
Crashing
Getting a lot of crashes with this update. Can’t add an event without locking up.
No helpful
I don’t see how this app has helped in anyway to get my ex and I to co-parent. No one is monitoring this app and all it did was enable her to play victim after she has started the argument. This app is a waste of money and time.
Another tool of manipulation
If you’ve been through a rough divorce there’s a good chance you know there’s one person who wants to be left alone, and one that refuses to leave the other alone. Our Family Wizard somehow worked their way into the we of things an ex can obligate you to have and pay for seemingly against your will because you either agree, or keep fighting with a lower to be left alone.
There is nothing Our Family Wizard offers that couldn’t be handled through text messages, Venmo, and a shared calendar, but instead we have a court order that requires me to pay $150 per year for software I never wanted. I have full parental rights, full custody, and even a protective order against my exs spouse, and I still need to keep this app because they got it into the parenting plan. You’d think with a history like theirs that wouldn’t be necessary, but any inconvenience they are able to force on me they will. That is all Our Family Wizard is to me. An inconvenience, and an additional legal expense.

Always crashing and never useful
Honestly if I could give zero stars I would. This app is always crashing and glitching yet it’s very expensive. There is no reason the subscription should be this much.
New Update is terrible
The new update is terrible and has bugs on the Calendar feature when you’re trying to add moments. You add them and can’t see them, and add them to another day. Truly terrible.
Subscriptions are yearly and the don’t refund
They automatically renewed me for an additional year, when I emailed and called to cancel my subscription and receive a refund they told me that they do not refund, and when I told them I wanted to delete my account the said that they can’t do it without the partner account’s consent.
Absolutely ridiculous, just email your ex, this app is useless.

Terrible app
Terrible app. Every year I have the same issue where I have to reset my password yet the email they have a record never seems to make. Their customer service is horrible trying to get a password. Reset is like Fort Knox.
Calendaring Option is Difficult to use
The calendaring option in OurFamilyWizard is one of the most used features when there are coparenting circumstances.
Trades, scheduling, and transitions can be contentious on their own, however, the clunky way OFW handles calendaring increases the potential and likelihood for errors and has led to suspicion of malicious intent numerous times. Fortunately, we now both recognize the shortcomings of the software.
It is unfortunate that software intended to deescalate complicated family coordination often creates conflict itself.

Scummy tech
This app is totally useless, does nothing that my email doesn’t do for free, and it’s profiteering off of human suffering.
App freezing
The app constantly freezes, I either have to reset phone or delete app and redownload it for
It to work.
Neither of which is convenient and frustrating.

Negative ZERO
If I could rate this app in a negative… I would. It would be -5 stars! This has to be one of the worst apps I’ve ever encountered especially since I had to pay over $160 for it. It’s glitchy and rarely ever works properly.
Terrible app forced on you by the court
This is the third time I’ve had to delete my bank information and re-enter it for failed payment. OFW has no answer, yet I’m forced to use via decree. Make sure your decree does not name OFW. Nothing but problems that cost attorney fee fees.
I’m not paying
I’m not paying for a free texting app. Deleted upon sign up. Went to a competitor.
DO BUY IT
1. It is overly complicated to set up and to use.
2. Cancelled the second month. Now 11 months later I get charged again. I exchanged over a dozen emails and phone call and no refund. Now it has been $298 for something we never used.

Automatically charges
Kind of an expensive app but worked for what I needed it for, however; it automatically charges you for the following year. Tried to get my refund back since my coparent no longer wants to use it and was refused a refund. That’s a lot of money to not refund when you won’t be using it at all for the whole year!
