I haven’t been active on PayPal since last year. When I boot up the app it tells me to verify my identity and card because of some “suspicious activity”. I go to verify my identity and it works, 6 mins later they permanently limit my account for no reason and I can’t appeal it at all. I got dealt a bad deck of cards that threw me overboard, bad PayPal bad
Clunky layout
Not user-friendly most people I share money avoid PayPal like the plague. I want to load money, send, receive, and send money to my bank. Should be easy to do at a glance but it is not especially moving money back into your bank. the app is geared more towards selling you services than making a convenient to send and receive money. I prefer the clean user-friendly look of Cash App.

They taking people accounts just because they’re winning money from a game called just play and they’re partners with just play and they deactivated my account and withholding my money and I’m not having it I’m going to sue if they don’t fix it because I’m not doing anything wrong or fraudulent
Horrible experience
On paper everything they offer are sounds of beauty. Enough for me to completely close down my traditional bank and transfer everything (direct deposit/cc payments/shopping) to my new PayPal account, however, as soon as I tried to make my first credit card payment it rejected but not only rejected.. it “permanently blocked my PayPal debit card from making any further credit card payments due to unspecified safety policy procedure.”
Then, I tried using my PayPal card for another credit card payment and also rejected plus blocked. When I called, no one could tell me why. All they said was “I’m so sorry it’s out of our hands it’s policy that we can’t even see”
They almost force you to open a crypto account that you cannot close. I’m really astonished as how this has 4.8 stars. It truly was a horrible experience but now I only transfer money into it if I’m going out for dinner since I get 5% back for restaurants this month but even that isn’t enough for me to stick with it. I have other cards that do the same plus better.

Data stealing
I have never used this app before, when I make an account it is IMMEDIATELY deactivated and I am told I violated their policy. When looking to delete data I see they basically have access to ALL of my data. It’s literally impossible to delete an account, it’s not even letting me put in my email to REQUEST my account is deleted. I don’t have control of MY account. After many days of “account review” I still haven’t been told what policies I have violated. This app is over all just one big scam for data and money…

Didn’t let me send money back to a different account and they didn’t let me delete my information off the app and stole 20$ from my bank account. if i was u i wouldn’t trust this app at all.

For whatever reason, my account was permanently deactivated, with no chance for an appeal. I did absolutely nothing and I still dont know what i did, because they wont tell me. customer service told me this “For whatever reason, I don't have specific information regarding why, but we are parting ways at this point and the decision cannot be overturned,” copied STRAIGHT from the chat on a screenshot. it was neither in the email or said anywhere, whatever i did is a mystery to me, and the people who deactivated my account. now i cant have my own money for the next couple months.

i use paypal for my extra cash on the side and has almost 5 dollars in it and then they deactivated my account permanently, didn’t explain why at all, i attempted to get a review but they refused , if you want your money stolen or account deleted, then use paypal
Customer service is terrible
I was paid for a review January 7. March 15 they disputed the payment saying I “the seller” did not send them the item they paid me for. I tried to explain to PayPal 1. It’s a personal account not business because I do not sell anything 2. This is a company claiming I sold something to them is in china- why would I from PA be selling to China especially only for $30? It probably cost more in shipping to send something from here to there. 3. They have no receipt or proof of item being bought. Still PayPal sided against me took that money and charged me another $15 in fees. I will never use PayPal again.
High fees
PayPal has the highest fees I’ve seen in any sort of peer to peer purchasing. Avoid using it.

Was pre approved for 700$ for kohls wasted abunch of time shopping to find out I wasn’t approved. Should be sued for false advertising.

If you ever have an issue with a charge using PayPal and dispute it, they will never ever ever resolve a dispute in your favor. I think they may make a percentage from these companies or the get a kickback or something. They never ever ever refund your money. Even with proof. Don’t trust PayPal with your MONEY!!
App UI glitch caused a missed credit card payment! Fix your wallet sync!
I am incredibly frustrated with the PayPal app and website. I specifically added my debit card to my account and set it as my preferred payment method in my wallet so I could set up auto-pay for my PayPal Credit Card in the most convenient way possible.
But there is a major sync issue between the backend and the actual user interface. Even though I can clearly see my debit card sitting under my "Wallet" as the preferred payment method, the PayPal credit card section itself completely fails to recognize that the debit card is on the account. Because the app and website didn't surface the card properly, my auto-pay didn't go through and I completely missed a credit card payment.
Look, I know I'm supposed to remember all of my credit cards, but I have a life and I don't have time to constantly log in and manually check on things that are supposed to be automated. I like the convenience of auto-pay, but this system failed me completely.
To make matters worse, trying to fix this is a nightmare. I’ve had to call customer support repeatedly, and the calling system is absolutely terrible. It is an endless cycle of being transferred to completely different departments just to pay a simple credit card bill.
PayPal, please update your website and app immediately. There is a serious bug here with how the wallet links to the credit card payment screen. Get your IT team on this and fix it!

Funds Taken Without Explanation
Both my account and my husband’s were blocked. He lost $600, I lost $1500. We provided all requested documents; the accounts were briefly unlocked, then blocked again the next day without reason. After another 180-day hold, just days before we could withdraw, we were informed the funds were “removed.” Support refused to explain where or why. Even when we asked to retain chat records for legal purposes, they abruptly closed the chats. I suspect fraudulent practices. I strongly advise against using this app for any money transfers. Consider alternatives-banks, PaySend, Western Union-anything but this. I DON’T RECOMMEND THIS SERVICE

How so bad?
How is this app five stars with over 6 million reviews. I rarely use this app but I’m just trying to send money. I put the person the amount and the note and it fails to send. It says me something about payment plan protection and says that I haven’t selected a payment but there’s nothing to select. Then linking accounts it just freezes the app coming back. The app is completely frozen. I can’t click anything. POS if you ask me.

I never leave reviews on apps but I’m doing this out of spite. The app works fine, no actual issues but the fact that I can’t see full transactional details on the web to force me to get the app is transgression #1 and THEN this app has the audacity to give me 2-4 popups every time I want to use it is egregious! Transgression #2. Stop. Stop it.

This is the second time I’ve been locked out of my account. The security is pretty tight but when the answers to my security questions won’t work it’s upsetting.

Well, I been using this app for such a long time (more than 4 years) and I never have a issue, the thing is that a few months ago I open the app and I get chocked by a notification telling me my account was closed definitely, they don’t give a reason, I never did something bad or illegal with my PayPal and I don’t even have the option of talk with an agent or someone who can help, so, if you want to keep your money save, use another apps like Venmo, Cashapp or Zelle, since at least they care about they costumers

I was overcharged on a purchase and THAT company issued me my refund plus extra and PayPal is trying to KEEP the extra and not letting me transfer it out to my cards. It shows me which cards I CANT use, but babyyyy I have MULTIPLE available on here so what’s the issue? They want to take part of it with an “instant transfer” NO it’s MY money why do yall want a cut???
Permanently banned from using
After using this app for years, I randomly got banned from using it. It is worth mentioning that I only use it to make full payments or do installments. I make absolutely no profit with my account nor do I have people pay me through this app. I currently have installment payments that I have to complete, but I can't access them or any information related to them as a result of being banned. I absolutely do not recommend this app.
Disappointed
I can no longer use my account for “suspicious activity” even though all I have done these past days was transfer money and buy stuff from Walmart and on top of that I can’t transfer my money either. Besides this, it’s ok. Just get Cash App.
