I don’t get it. I just repin something someone else posted and I’m getting slapped on the hand for it! It’s art people. Nudity doesn’t HAVE to be sexual. Not to mention I’m over 18 anyway so what gives? Maybe have a better system to check out what’s being uploaded before it can be repinned . Just a thought. Stop saying I’m violating y’all’s policy when I’m not the one posting the originals. It’s stupid.

There's no way to completely get ads off this app it's so stupid, I used to love it so much and use it all the time.
Too many ads
The app has been completely unusable with the amount of ads. I get 4 ads with 2 pins, there’s literally MORE ads than actual regular pins. Not to mention as I scroll it will automatically open ads in new browser even if I didn’t click it! I will be Deleting the app and finding an alternative until I hear this is fixed because the app is so unenjoyable and not worth it anymore.

AI Slop
I tried to opt out of any AI content. AI does not belong in art spaces in my opinion, but the filter didn’t work, and my feed was still filled with AI. Pinterest needs to do a better job scrubbing for AI slop. I was on this app for authenticity and human creativity. The last thing I want to see is AI.

10/1/25 I've written a review before about the ridiculous number of ads and the unwanted ai but apparently that review got deleted. I went to edit my review to ad how I'm now seeing a sponsor section with even more ads but it was no longer there. This makes me think the only reason Pinterest doesn't have a lower rating is because they delete the bad ones... I've been using Pinterest for years and have loved it for most but this is getting tedious. 10/28/25 why am I seeing "more ideas" before my board? I didn't go to my board just to see more of what's on my home page.

Return old filters
Really unhappy with the filter function disappearing from search. Filtering by video was how I found recipes that weren't AI generated or various tutorials I could follow. It's how I found content featuring people with my skintone, hair type, and body type instead of being flooded with unusable content. Typing in what used to be filters does not produce accurate results like actual filters did.

Pinterest used to show me ideas about things to do around the house. Now if you select a teaser photo all that comes up is more photos. The sites won’t open, all that comes up is more photos of the same thing. What is happening.

I clicked on a pin that claimed to list best Caldecott award winning children’s book. Pornographic comic images popped up instead. I reported it to Pinterest and they took no action, I appealed it and again no action. As a pediatrician, I will make sure parents know these risks if allowing their children to use Pinterest

Plastered with ads
Used to be a frequent pinterest user, but it’s so bloated with constant ads no matter how much you hit “not interested” that it’s cut down my usage so severely these past few years and now I just never use it at all. Used to be when you selected “hide” on ads they’d disappear for a while. Now it’s just constantly shoved in your face, even when using the search function. Sucks to see such a previously beloved app become borderline unusable. I wasted so many years on this

This app blows chunks. I’ve put like two years into it and it’s gotten so much worse. It’s overrun with ads and ai slop, and their moderation is terrible. I got banned off the site and have submitted appeals and haven’t heard a single response from a real person. It’s a garbage app, and i’m better without it for how pointlessly addicted i was.

This app used to be great for creatives but now on the rare occasion you see something other than an ad it’s AI slop. Disgusting business model.

I have been a member of interest since it was invite only, in this time it has been a wonderful tool for mood boards, idea brainstorming, an d art references. However, since 2020 I have seen a dramatic increase in ads for products I don’t want and don’t care about. I accidentally click more ads when I’m trying to remove them, because I don’t wanna see them anymore. The site has become trash. This app has become trash. And I don’t think they care.

Ai Suggestions
I’ve used Pinterest since I was in middle school (I’m now 27) so it sucks to write this review, but I think I have to finally let this app go. Over the last few years ai has become so prominent in every aspect of Pinterest that I can no longer reliably use this app. I search for nail designs and over 50% of the results are ai generated. I search for recipes and again over 50% of the results are completely ai generated from the photos to the actual recipes. Pinterest has an option to turn off all ai suggestions in your feed, but even when I did that my feed and search results are still flooded with ai, so there’s not even a way to actually opt out of it. When you’re searching for things like nail art, recipes, home designs, you need these results to be human because ai generated things do not always correctly transfer over to the real world where humans can successfully recreate these things. Because of this problem I can’t reliably use Pinterest anymore after loving and using this app for so many years of my life.
unable to edit board image for 2 days now
i’ve updated the app twice within the last week, deleted it and redownloaded it, logged out and logged back in, tried editing my board image while using data rather than wifi incase it was a network issue… and nothing. i keep getting told that the image is not a proper URL and/or that it’s not within an adequate parameter??? i’m simply just trying to edit my board image and use an image i’ve already pinned. definitely a glitch but i’m shocked it’s not fixed yet. multiple other ppl have reported the same issue on downdetector:-/
“Reports and violations”
It’s kind of getting ridiculous. I keep having to submit appeals because they continuously try to deactivate pins for ‘community violations’ when they aren’t even close to violating any rules. Also the process for appealing those decisions is difficult because they don’t even let you see the pin to see it’s actually violating a rule anymore. If I wasn’t so annoyed I’d be impressed by how fast they managed to make a good app detestable with this.
Edit: I’m no longer convinced a real person even checks reported things when you appeal them because it sure as hell doesn’t seem like they do.

TOO MANY ADS
I use to love this app. Now I can barely find what I’m looking for. It is 75% adds and the stuff that isn’t adds often isn’t relevant either. I am frustrated every time I use the app and think about deleting it.

If you click on it to try to get rid of it, it takes you into the ad and then you lose the article you were trying to read.
