Such a waste of money
I genuinely cannot believe people recommend Planner 5D with a straight face.
This app is marketed like some powerful interior design platform where you can realistically recreate your apartment and experiment with layouts, materials, colors, lighting, furniture, etc.
What it actually is:
a clunky, overpriced furniture-dragging simulator with the depth of a mobile game from 2014.
After spending over $100, I expected professional-level customization or at least a remotely convincing design experience. Instead I got generic furniture blocks that barely resemble real furniture, limited customization, awkward controls, and a fake-looking 3D environment that makes everything feel like a low-budget Sims knockoff.

Honestly, a tape measure, your phone camera, and common sense would get most people 80% of the way there with far less frustration.

I paid for the 3D home scan which was $59. The scan took three days and was full of errors. I tried using the app features but the app glitched and got overwhelmed giving me constant error screens. i was not able to use the AI interior designer as the app just crashed constantly. I called Apple support for a refund and they said I’d have to do a credit card charge back. I’d happily give this zero stars if possible. Will happily delete this for a refund.

It started asking me to rate how much I like using the app before I even started using it.

Upon the purchase of my house, I tried scanning it with the app, but whenever I wanted to complete the scan, it popped up with an error saying that the scan cannot be completed. This issue persisted multiple times forcing me to give up. I contacted Customer support about this issue and asked for a refund since I was not able to produce a single scan, but they weren’t even willing to respond. Tried scanning the house six months later after renovations were completed, but I ran into the same issue. App is not functioning and customer service is nonexistent.

Lacks basic feature
I want to create a rounded wall and I’ve to go through elaborate set of steps that are non-intuitive and even then I don’t get the results I expect. I tried the web version and the iPad app. I’m giving up. Cancelling my subscription and moving on to a different app…
Don’t trust trial
I wanted the 3 day trial. Came back on day 3 to cancel trial because it’s not the type of design I was in search of for my needs. Find out I was charged for 2 year subscriptions twice. Then saying something I did that wasn’t even an option I could choose on my end. I’ve downloaded and used apps my entire life and never had an issue and yet they say I did this which I’ve never even seen an app set up where you would choose that. Not happy
Deceptive
Your website clearly says there’s a free 3-day trial. I used the app for maybe two hours and was charged $20 anyway. That feels really misleading and disappointing.
Does not work for commercial spaces. Refused refund
The app did not work for a commercial space despite being advertised as such. When I requested a refund, apple denied it. No reason was provided. App support claimed there’s nothing they can do. No I have anual subscription to an app I can’t make use of.
Very non-user friendly… for non paying users
It was very difficult to navigate and then when I did get to the feature I wanted such as just building a simple room, it wouldn’t let me hit complete, seems like everything is behind a paywall so if anyone downloads this you better be paying for the pro version or nothing will work or be available to you. Might as well make it a paid app then not pretend it’s free to get downloads.

I was supposed to be given a three day trial, but when I went into cancel my subscription, they had already taken my money earlier in the day. Wasn’t even given 72 hours.
Cannot customize floor plan easily
You cannot map out a room easily, unless I’m just missing something obvious. When building a layout from scratch, you have to use one of the preexisting templates (no way to just start truly from scratch and add walls as you go, you have to start with one of the layouts and split walls to add more), and when you try to change the measurements of one wall, there is no way to lock any other walls’ dimensions . Therefore all of the walls are constantly adjusting as you add new walls, and you can’t accurately draw out a room.
Continuous Sales Ads
Could not try app due to continuous string of pop-up sales ads that you cannot clear from the screen. Subscribe or leave are the options.
Misleading Trial offer
Misleading trial offer. I downloaded the app and selected what was advertised as a 7‑day trial along with an annual subscription option. However, there was no trial at all-I was charged for the annual subscription immediately. Be very careful: it says “trial,” but it isn’t one. I ended up stuck with a subscription and had no option for a refund. Apple should watch out for apps offering fake or misleading trial options.

This app is horrible the AI in it especially it tells you it’s saved your project in your account but it never does. I have wasted hours trying to get this app to design a building and it clearly is just incapable. Dont waste your time downloading. Very disappointed in this app

I chose the 3-day trial, yet I was charged immediately. This makes no sense! The trial offer is completely misleading.

AI was terrible. I used the premium version for less than an hour, and they refuse to give me a full refund.
Poor user interface, essentially useless
All I want is to make a simple CAD-like design for a garden, but this software lacks the most basic functionality to make that happen. It should be the easiest thing in the word to drop a path and resize to the dimensions you want, but instead I’m left totally at a loss for how to do that, either by draw-and-pull, or entering dimensions in a field. I tried it online, then downloaded for MacOS, then opened it on my iPad and in no version is this basic functionality available. Don’t waste your time or money on this.
Nope - too nosey
1. You can’t get in without giving up your email (here come the ads!). 2. When you do get in, it’s only for a 3 day trial. 3. To try the 3 day trial, you have to double click your phone to essentially link it to your credit card. NOPE!! Why can’t y’all just make an app where we can “play house” without comprising our identity and you guys just torture us with ads, like usual?!?
Not Free
Free 7 days and after that its nearly $120 a year. For some people this is not a problem. But for people like me who’s just trying to figure out what l want, and l research apps that allow me to do this for free. Im not looking for free 7 days. Im looking at permanently free. So the fact that it showed up under the list as free free , was misleading
Horrible product
This product does not do half of what it claims. I bought the year subscription for my daughter’s apartment to ensure everything fit and to do some decor work. It could not handle the basics. Interface is clunky, provided a clean floor plan and their ai messed it up. Frustrating and not worth the money and time. This is worse than many free versions.

I got the free trial and it said it would warn me before I got the subscription. It didn’t warn me and it just charged my mom.
Please don’t pay for it
I can’t believe I spent hours and hours doing a home design, and guess what ? It was gone at the and of my project. Couldn’t be worse.
Dead app
App use to be great. Used it for years and then when I bought a new house I wanted to scan it. Dusted off the app and paid for the basic scan. App is broke because it never let me past that payment page after payment went through.

Floor plan feature is bad
Unfortunately the “AI floor plan” feature doesn’t work at all like intended. After uploading my labeled floor plan with dimensions, it still generated random walls that bisected the entire floor. Plus it’s $30 to try it even once! Don’t bother.

Warning- this app offers you a free 7 day trial period, yet it will take an auto payment charge using the Apple Subscription system after 3 days, charge you for a year’s subscription expecting the average user won’t notice the charge. I tried this app for a few minutes and went and cancelled the subscription (well within the trial period) in the app. 5d charged the subscription fee anyway. I’ve submitted a refund request with Apple Support and hope I get refunded, but be aware that 5d’s offer of a free 7 day trial is a scam. Don’t take the bait because you will be automatically charged for a year subscription with the Apple Subscription system. On a side note, this app is useless too, I uploaded a pdf floor plan to have its AI render my home layout and every attempt failed. Useless!!!

Do not download this if you have the intent of scanning a space with your camera and uploading it to be edited using AI. Which basically is the primary description of what the apps primary use case is but it doesn’t work at all. i’ve tried uploading videos a dozen times and it never once has scanned the space successfully. Huge waste of money and very frustrating. Find another app. Any other app. but don’t waste time with this one.

Do NOT get this app. It literally doesn’t work and they refuse to refund me for an annual subscription ~ $70. It only lets you do one home scan included in that $70 purchase, and it wasn’t even accurate. The UX is terrible and doesn’t tell you if you can move between floors for the home scan making it impossible to do more than one floor.

Lack of state management makes this unusable
After carefully measuring my room and furniture to lay it out in the app, I succumbed to the temptation to use the “Bernard AI” features. In addition to producing an incoherent design, it broke my floor plan (disconnecting walls, etc) and deleted my furniture-perhaps as expected. What I didn’t expect is an inability to restore any of the work I had previously done. This is apparently a known issue, affecting not just AI changes but any attempts to revert to older versions. This seemingly makes it impossible to experiment with different arrangements, ie use the software for its intended purpose.
The help robot and a very nice customer service person suggested duplicating often as a workaround, a very helpful suggestion arriving way too late. This workflow is not part of the New User Experience and the duplicate button is not anywhere on the actual editing screen on iOS.

CHECK FOR UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES AFTER THE TRIAL ENDS
I was charged $399 for this app after the trial ended. I used the app for less than an hour after downloading the trial. I attempted to cancel the trial but it was not available for me to do so. I contacted the company and someone from Latvia told me I was not eligible for a refund. After some back and forth emails he offered to refund $199. He finally agreed to refund $399 after I wrote that I would be reporting Planner5D to the Apple App Store and my credit card company. BEWARE!

Cannot read a plan from Autodesk Revit
If it can’t do this, it’s not a serious app to use.

I was not impressed that I was able to download the app for free, then when I opened the app I was required to purchase a subscription to use it. If you can’t use the app without buying a subscription, you shouldn’t be able to download it for free. This isn’t mentioned in the app description either.
Payment issues
Trail period of 7 days is fake. I wanted to try the trail period, however on day 1 day deduct entire monthly fees. Even after cancelling the subscription they charged whole month amount. It’s not an AI planner, it’s AI scammer of people.

Not easy to use
I wish the measurements were in feet not inches. Taking too long to create floor plan. Will be looking for a more user friendly app
Why I hate this
It wouldn’t let me get the monthly subscription so I got the yearly. I went to cancel my subscription and then it said my subscription had cancelled and I never got my money back.
