June 19 Update: I just received ANOTHER notification from my bank about three more charges from them. After reading recent reviews, seems like many people are having issues with multiple charges from them. I literally just got my new debit card. I made sure that my subscription was ended and sure enough it ended on June 12.

Don’t use this app
The trial subscription won’t show up in your apple subscriptions, so they have figured out how to try and trap you and stop you from cancelling. Very unethical.

Im tired of these apps with subscriptions. Why pay for an app you will use once or twice?
predatory subscription model paired with AI slop
This app sucks. They advertise it as free, but you have you can’t use any features until you subscribe to their terrible service, but not before being subjected to a series of unskippable AI slop vignettes of the most uncanny valley looking “people” tending to plants with their phones. Scanner only provides you with the most basic information generated by, you guessed it, AI! Slop app, devs provide can’t even code without consulting AI, worthless app made by worthless and unoriginal losers.

I tested the photo identification feature on 8 plants: Petunias, Salvias, Zinnias, Geraniums, Lily of the Valley, Basil, Hydrangeas and Creeping Jennys. It got petunias and zinnias correct. I took the picture up close, in good outdoor lighting, with a newer Iphone camera. Deleted immediately

There’s no way to cancel subscription
They offer a free trial period but there is no way in the app to cancel and no way to access it even in the subscription section in my phone. The email they provided to ask to cancel also is a dud. I’m going to call my bank and dispute because this app is a scam. Do not download. They info isn’t even correct most of the time.

This app could not properly identify a common Agave nor could it diagnose why it was paler than the same plants adjacent to it. Useless

I downloaded the app and used it to help. Identify some plants in my friend’s front yard. I knew what they were and this app clearly had no idea. I canceled immediately on the first day of the free trial, however, I was still charged the Weekly fee after cancel canceling my subscription during the free trial.

Didn’t identify known plants correctly. Diagnosed the problem as not enough water. We’ve gotten a ridiculous amount of rain.
Not free, costs money
Maybe they should put in the description of this app that it is not free. They open up with an option to pay monthly or yearly to use the app. There is no option to click out of this or use the app for free. If there is, maybe that should pop up after having the app open for 10 minutes. Super misguiding, use “Picture This” from the App Store. That’s the app they ripped off to make this one. shame on the Plantaria team.

Ineffective and a trap
App was wrong 5 out of 7 times and was impossible to cancel before the free trial ended. I was charged 9.99 for an app I didn’t want. Buyer beware!!!
Sketchy subscription charges
I thought I had canceled this app before the trial period ended however I got a recurring charge through a third-party company that turned out to be Plantaria. Not a single email receipt was sent so I couldn’t figure out why someone was withdrawing funds. It didn’t show up on Apple’s list of active subscriptions either. This company is a fraud.

Don’t subscribe to the free trial. Even if you cancel it ahead of time it’ll still charge you, but it won’t go through apple so you’re unable to get refunded unless you dispute it with your back. When you request a refund via the app, they never get back to you.

This app constantly does not identify plants correctly
When you use the diagnosis part, you are asked to take two pictures and answer a series of question. I have found that the diagnosis depends on how you answer the questions not on the pictures. The suggestions to help your plant are vague and rarely work. I, unfortunately, paid for the app for life so am stuck with it!!

I had the three day trial which I canceled but I keep getting charged for this app that I don’t have and don’t want and I get nowhere with this company. Stay away from them.

This app does a poor job of identifying common backyard plants. Further, the payment section of the app is deceptive as I was unknowingly charged weekly after I had cancelled.
