Scam
Signed up for a 1 month free trial and set it to remind me before it auto charged. I got charged almost $50 after only one week with the app, and there’s no option on the app to cancel or a number to reach anyone
Not impressed
This app does not recognize plants as accurately as I would expect for the cost. I have to use another app to verify if it is correct or not. Wish I could cancel the subscription but it’s too late. I am stuck with it for a year
C+ customer service
I reached out for help and they just copy pasted the exact same response from some else talking about same issue. They expect you to trouble shoot issue and there is no one to actually talk to

Horrible app
I really don’t like everything about the app cuz you have to pay for everything good about it. The design also isn’t sleek or easy to use and looks weird with iPads. If you’re not willing to go bankrupt for a mediocre app then don’t download it

Watch out for free trial
Planta charged full year on day I agreed to the 7 day trial. This app gives conflicting information on the same plant. Not worth it.
So disappointed
I logged on for the first time in a while. I’m trying to get back on top of my plants. It made me re sign in, and all 100+ of my plants are just gone! My whole account! I’m not setting all of that up again and if I could get a refund I would request it. I WANT MY ACCOUNT BACK, this is not ok!! The kicker? No way to ask for help! Not worth it for the headache it’s causing, use a different app!

When I signed up it said the subscription would be $7 a month but then I was charged $50 for a whole year…in this economy? Very misleading

The app keeps hanging every time I try to add a plant from my iPhone, which has the latest iOS.
Every action = payment
I haven’t even got the chance to try it out and the first thing they ask is to pay. Why would I pay for it if I don’t know if it’s good or not.
Too much tapping with poor UI
I just want to log watering, misting, feeding, etc. And be reminded when to do so next. I like the features this app promises! But the UI is horrible. Everything takes 7 taps. It should be simple & streamlined. Instead it’s an overengineered disorganized mess. The drive to cram more features in often destroys good design. That happened here. It’s a shame. Please Planta team, hire a fantastic UI designer and make radical changes. Otherwise this feels like a scam. The promise is not fulfilled.
Fix the app
I used to use this all the time, and now it’s barely usable. Anytime I complete multiple tasks, it freezes and I have to restart the app if it doesn’t crash. Not only that but I can feel my phone heating while using the app. I can’t use the progress function. It freezes when taking a picture. I’ve even taken them from my photo album and it’s not staying on the progress update. I used to love this app, and now I can’t use it without having an issues with freezing everytime
AI junk, steer clear
Auto subscription is enough to show you its not worth it when they have to trick everyone into keep a trial version too long and being charged for a full year.
They say you will be reminded prior to the year subscription charge, nope.

Frequently misidentifies plants
I have been using PictureThis for a while and have enjoyed it. That being said, I wanted a second gardening app to confirm what I was being told with the first app. As a result and after reading reviews I purchased Planta. When I started adding plants, I made it through a total of four plants before I canceled my subscription since it misidentified two of the four plants. No matter what I tried, it continued to miss identify them. The misidentified plants were a Foxtail agave and a cabbage tree. Very frustrating! Would not recommend this app.

Do not get this app
I tried the subscription against my better judgment (no free trial is always a red flag) and I am extremely disappointed. The Dr. Planta is an AI that’s inaccurate, unhelpful, and doesn’t save any information whatsoever- therefore making it infuriating to try and get input on recurring issues, given how it requires you to input information about the watering habits, soil, etc. every. single. time. you. talk. to. it. I suspect that the watering schedules are also inaccurate because my plants were doing fine before I got this app and they are all suffering now- all with symptoms of overwatering. My monstera is basically as good as dead when it was perfectly healthy before I got this app. DO NOT GET THIS APP!! It is not worth it.

Loved it, but glitching lately
I love this app, I really do. But today anytime I go to one of my specific plants, the entire app crashes. Over and over, for any plant I try. Please fix!

Doesn’t allow for questions or suggestions to care for plants. No recommendations for products, specifics for each plant, repotting or anything. A waste of my $$

It should have options to adjust watering based on time of year, and if you update the sun conditions in a room, it should update it for all the plants there too rather than doing each one individually. The AI doesn’t take into account what you’re documenting in the app either - you have to tell it how often you water it for example but it can see how often you water it with the tasks and schedule. I might delete it. Also you don’t have to mist everything so regularly.
Very laggy now
I used to really like this app. It helped me keep track of my plants and watering them. But it’s gotten really buggy and laggy. It makes my whole phone freeze and if I’m playing any audio, it freezes the audio.

I want to love this app, I really do. I’ve been using it for a while since I was new to houseplant care and it’s really helped. Unfortunately it is SO LAGGY, it freezes up my entire phone, every option I might try to press takes 10+ seconds to do anything, the scroll barely works.. I hesitate to even open the app anymore. I really hope they fix this as I’m considering deleting it and finding another similar app.
I dislike that it’s AI
I like that app, but I really dislike that they use AI because it’s kind of counterproductive if it’s an app to help us grow our plants and take care of our plants, but it uses AI which actively causes harm to the earth. Would love to see the app move away from AI.
Dont Buy The Yearly Subscription
You Can Use The App As Is Without Having To Pay A Lot Of Money Or You Can Do Your Own Research On The Information For The Plants Your Looking For. Half The Time The App Wasnt Accurate When It Comes To Certain Plants & Their Environments As If The App Is AI Generated. So Do It The Old Fashioned Way 🤗

I would much prefer firm. They have some ability to scan and diagnosed what is wrong with a plant accurately! It is also not exactly a user-friendly app.
Waste of money
I used this app years ago and a lot of the features were not behind a paywall. Now coming back to use it again is disappointing. I Paid for premium because I wanted access to the light meter which is NOT a light meter, just basically tells you your room is “part sun” which I wanted something more technical than that. I wish I could get a refund because that’s a waste of money.
