Bait and switch delivery
Still waiting to find out if it's worth all of the hype! Ordered at the website on 5/21 where it was advertised as "in stock" & "ships within 3 days". Once purchased, I immediately received an email advising that it wouldn't ship for 21-30 days!? I assumed it was an automatic message and it would ship as advertised within 3 since they were aggressively advertising their Memorial Day Sale on the website. 5 days later, still no shipping notification!? I try to call the phone number and no one EVER answers. EVER! I begin to wonder if I have been scammed. I decide to send an email & receive an AI response the first 2 times. I'm getting more nervous because I can't seem to reach a human & I feel completely duped! Finally, Simon responds 8 days after my order (where I notice that it's not even in the fulfillment stage yet, much less shipping). By now I'm ready for a full refund, but he offers 3 months of Pocket Pro & 2 years of extended warranty coverage. I agree to wait, but advise that I hope it comes sooner than later. It is now June 6th & my Pocket is in Vegas with "USPS Awaiting Item" with a "Shipping Label Created" and no delivery date pending. At this point, I am beyond disappointed with the customer service of this product. 3 months of Pocket Pro is a slap in the face when a 3 day turnaround was advertised at the time of purchase. I hope this Pocket is worth it. Plaud had better reviews but I thought I'd give this one a try. So far, NOT so good!!
High Fees, Bad Sync, Software Summarization Limits
Without paying $19.99 a MONTH for the premium summarizations the default one is sub par so I am having to export the recordings to a FREE LLM to get a better summarization that I can actively improve and work on. For the cost of the hardware and then requiring a steep monthly subscription you are pricing yourself out of a greater market share.
Due to the limits you put in the software and the fact that 50% of the time the sync uploads fail and it takes a direct WiFi link, which kicks me off my internet WiFi, I’d be better off with a simple mp3 recorder I can bluetooth to Claude directly. Plus it doesn’t like to sync and record simultaneously which is a real bummer when you have back to back meetings.
If you can fix the sync and upload issues, lower the premium subscription fees to compete with the FREE LLM market, your product would be 5 STARS!

Completely useless since last update
Other than the fact that the parsing into separate speakers doesn’t work well, I was starting to like this device. Since the update yesterday, it is completely useless. Nothing will sync and support hasn’t been able to fix it.
Bricked Device With Terrible Support
What a waste of time ordering a pair of these was. The device bricked during setup and support kept asking me to do more work to solve the issue. When I asked for a refund since they stated they had a 30 day money back policy support pushed back. Do not support these crooks there are plenty of other companies in this space that won’t give you the run around and probably will send you working devices.
Unresponsive developer
App works fine, but it keeps erroring on updating the pocket wifi update. I reached out to the developer a few times but they don’t respond.
Poor function and cancel culture
Function of hardware and app is lacking and any hint of negative experience in posts gets your account suspended so no support. Would not recommend app or software

This app always shows corrupted audio even after updates, the recording stops 1/2 through my sessions, early backers have to fight for what was promised…the list goes on
Bad product and bad service
Extremely bad experience with the product and the service. DO NOT buy this. It’s not worth it and doesn't work like they claim.
When you first receive the product, you will notice they try to copy Apple from the unboxing experience. However, sadly, they cannot copy the great product and great customer experience.
I only used it for four conversations, and here are my main issues - the software is extremely buggy, and I always have issue to sync the device. And if you have back-to-back meetings, you are out of luck. Won't be able to start recording your second meeting until the first one is synced, which can take forever.
The AI is OK. But the chatting function is not good, unlike Otter. The only good function is when you download, they zip everything, but that's it.
I returned the device, with everything included.
After that? No response. Total radio silence. I checked my PayPal to see if I have received refund. Nothing.
When I finally reached out, they finally deign to response, claimed the device was returned partial and dirty - which is completely untrue.
And I see other people have the exact same experience. So please donot be fooled by their ads on Youtube. Don't buy this trashy product.
Where are the docs?!
I bought a pocket and it works well and the summarization is pretty good, however there are no docs available on the website… no help whatsoever…. How do i share files with my mac? Is there an api? Do i have to use a saas service? The device has failed to record twice causing me to miss half a meetings worth of notes…. If there were a docs page with helpful trouble shooting steps i could probably figure this out…. I’ll probably return it before my 30 days is up
Not worth it.
Really hard to use in workflow. Tiny light that’s hard to see. Can’t use app unless in Pro so really can’t monitor live. New updates reduces good features. Just a really wonky device and now has ads constantly popping up and interfering work flow. Regret not going to with the competitor.

App will not let me get past the intro screen. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, resetting phone, nothing works
Worst decision I ever made
I wanted so badly to like this product. Here is what it is like to actually use it. First you cannot have the app open while using the device or it just stops recording and you lose everything.
Second if you try to just use the device a sync your recordings they WiFi transfer just stops working and you have to start over multiple times.
It also keeps asking you to upgrade to a subscription for $199 per year.
I am not sure who would rate this so highly. I use technology all the time and this is laughable at best.

Features are being taken away already.
Really enjoyed using Pocket, but features are being taken away. Email from the company stated conversations on free plan were originally held for 90 days. Now updated to 14 days. I already paid for the device, the additional subscription fee is ridiculous. More than likely going back to my phones record button and updating the file to chat GBT. Suchs a disappointment
Putting my local file behind a paywall is a stupid move
I understand you need generate revenue to keep the company running, but it has 0 cost to you to let user access their local files in the app, yet you decide to block my access to my own files after certain days while the file is literally just right there. This is ridiculous. I would never buy the product in the first place if i know you are removing my access to my own files.

Before I took the update I sang their praises and told everyone they should purchase a pocket an pay for PRO, today I take an update and then rely on it to record the meeting and provide notes and to my dismay it just quit recording 20 minutes into a 2 hour client presentation. Such a disappointment.

Not what I expected - expensive subscription and slow tool
I was an early adopter and when I purchased I was told I would not need to pay a monthly subscription, that it was included. For the cost of the hardware and now monthly subscription, there are so many lesser cost, and more capable, solution available. I tried the device for a week and then threw it in my drawer.
Literally, the worst
I feel like an absolute idiot buying a $100 recording device to attach to a device with recording ability. It touts its features as “an external brain” but honestly reminders, calendar events, and to dos are so much easier retained by just saying “Hey Siri” as opposed to… whatever this is.
Again, Pocket is a bad product that I highly recommend not buying. I regret every moment I feel a need to attach it to my phone, solely as justification of the purchase.

Annoying
Constantly sends useless notifications, and then when you turn notifications off, forces you to click through a screen about turning notifications back on. Constantly asks for you to rate the app. Well, I’m rating it now.
404 Page on Privacy Policy???
Just got this as a gift and tried to ready privacy policy, but it was a 404 page not found. That was after I gave it full access to my calendar? No thanks.
Synchronization issue
I registered the DNS. I turned off my other Wi-Fi networks. I updated the app. Still, the 17-minute recording hasn't synced for several days now, stopping at around 4%.
Underwhelming
Was hoping this would be awesome. Only syncs with google calendar. Lives in its own space and hard to export. No way to query by voice. Not as advertised.
Transcribes In Wrong Language
I was so excited to purchase this for myself and my wife. However, 7/10 transcriptions will be in the wrong language. Even though we pre-select English, it translates into different foreign languages. This must be fixed! Very disappointing.

Nerfed features
So the new update comes out and you’ve Nerf features way to go thanks for that. You’re making me purchase a pro plan to export my transcripts in a PDF for Doc format now Gee thanks.

My iPhone started overheating when synching Pocket recording after updating to iOS 26.4. Clicked on the “support” link in Apple Store which sends me to the sales page for Pocket. Unable to find solution. Have read wonderful reviews about Pocket Support and hoping this review helps connect me w the right team!
