Currently is a joke. Don’t get me wrong they have good content. But having to use coins to unlock a episode is a joke. Takes 9 coins to unlock an episode and you have to spend 50 bucks to roughly get 350 coins…. Wtf. There is series that have close to 3000 episodes. So 9 coins per episode and 50 bucks for roughly 350 coins you do the math. You would be spending SEVERAL HUNDRED dollars just for one series. If they had monthly unlimited subscription this app would be top tier. But currently is joke at best.

Okay seriously don’t appreciate all the false advertising. After every episode when I am done with the freebies for the dayI am told to either buy more coins or wait until tomorrow for more free episodes. However what is the point when the whole story isn’t even loaded. Four stories I am listening to are stopped with buy coins to continue and one saying episode 181 continuing soon which that was over a week ago. (So when is soon) Not to mention the price is a little ridiculous. $0.09 per episode most stories have over 1000 episodes. So that alone is over $90. Books don’t even cost that much per book. Not to mention app throws in random stories or restarts completely and you lose progress. That is just the start. Stories on main app don’t match up with the story.

Especially since most episodes being around 8 minutes or way way less for some audio series some being only 3 to 2 minutes an episode but you have to pay 8 if not more coins 🪙. Yes you can do free ads which is amazing I seriously thank you for that BUT!!! it's only 1 coin 🪙 per ad meaning you'll spend a good majority of your time just try to collect ads to try and keep up with the story. What happened to the times where after watching so many episodes you get free coins 🪙 we need prizes like that back it would be much appreciated. Or give prizes 🏆 to consistent users who have spent allot of coins 🪙 on stories just to show appreciation for the community who love and listen to your stories daily. And thank you for the free episodes you get daily. I'm not forgetting that I'm appreciative of It so thank you.

I wish I could take my time back. You start listening to a story and then it won’t let you finish it.
Bugs not Features.
How about fixing the bugs before working on features that fail to deliver as promised??? Bug # 1 that makes me want to search out pirated copies of the stories I like to listen to is the repeated, continuous randomized deletion of the accurate history of what story you’re listening to, forcing me to start all over again at episode 1. When you have hundreds of episodes listened to, then restarting back to the beginning is beyond frustrating. Today, out of over 20 series, only 2 weren’t reset to episode 1, some were in the 400 to 600 episodes.
The second major bug is instead of following the history of the listened to series, the app interjects unwanted series into the lineup despite repeated removal from the history.
The third major bug is the constant requests for money to buy coins and the unauthorized attempted authorizations for money despite no interaction with your ads or touching my phones screen.

Greedy creators
Avoid this app. It’s nice at first, then it turns into a greedy money succubus. The stories are good, but way too expensive. $1.99 for 24 coins. 9 coins per episode. Episodes under 9 minutes most less than 9 minutes.Thousands of episodes for 1 story. How about a subscription that is reasonably priced?
Only gives you 2-5 episodes a day
Story is great but is going to take years to finish. No option for subscription and coins are too expensive for only getting a couple minutes of story for them
Money grab app
Pocket FM forces you to watch ads and/or pay for the highest tier service so you can keep listening. They will lure you into a webnovel, let you get halfway through and then force you to buy a membership in order to continue.
So I did, I get 20 more episodes in and: “oh, now you must buy our elevated membership to keep listening”.
Now I know something is up and I keep scrolling down to more episodes further down the list. Sure enough, it would’ve forced me into an additional tier later on. F’k this money grab scheme. You guys are a joke.

Predatory costs
This app has good stories but you end up paying hundreds to listen to an entire story. Episodes get more and more expensive as you get through each story. It’s a bummer and really wasted my time and money. Do not waste yours on this app.
Coins
Too expensive to listen to the story I want to hear. Not even half way through one story and I’ve spent $100+ on coins. Easier to just buy books. 9 coins for 8-10 minutes per episode? Can’t even figure out how to transfer the coins I’ve earned watching ads.

This new update sucks
The app was already very heavy on time gating you and this update made it worse. I used to get 9 episodes per 24 hrs now I only get 4 and I used to be able to watch 6 ads for 3 episodes which was already alittle steep and now it’s 8 ads for 2 episodes. Not only did u guys increase the ad amount but also taking away an episode is greedy. This whole update is mostly based on coins with a few smaller features and now u increase the ad amount too! I hope something changes or im sadly gonna walk away without finishing my series. It’s gonna take almost a year to finish my series already and now u extended it even more for no reason! Please change ur ad strategy moving forward and start going back to the other ways or u will loose more people.
Difficult app
This app is sometimes very difficult to navigate. It seems to have a lot of bugs and inconsistencies. After the first few hours, it makes you watch adds to unlock new episodes. Sometimes it takes one add, and sometimes it takes sixteen. Sometimes the adds don’t process within the app and you end up watching 2-3 times the original number of adds. The stories are pretty good, but they are all narrated by AI voices. There are some AI generated images that go along with the story, but they make no sense, often mixing up characters and actions. These images only last for a few episodes, then you’re left watching silent adds as your story plays. It keeps trying to change what story you are on. When I first go into the app, I am swarmed with recommendations. The recommendations are all bad. Sometimes it plays two stories at once, and I have to figure out which ones are playing and how to turn it off. I want to love this app because it has good stories, it’s just so difficult and confusing to navigate.

Ridiculous cost structure and ads remove any enjoyment. The content is entertaining. But, the cost and ads make it not worth the investment in time or payment.

It would cost a thousand dollars to listen to one full story . Even after subscribing/paying this app only allows limited chapters before time blocking you and asking for more coins. I’ve listened to barely 10% of this first story and spent enough to buy 20 books. This is a total scam.

I CANCELED because it’s Scam / Slop
I downloaded the app. Constantly getting buy coins now before this offer expires. The last was a $5 credit was put in my wallet. I tried a few times to use it but every time it went straight to Apple Pay id cancel to try later. Finally I was fed up so I looked for almost 30 minutes for a way to contact customer support. Surprisingly enough it’s AI, then after lots of frustration I was able to create a ticket via email. I asked how to use the $5 credit, they said you can’t use it alone it has to be used with money. I’m done with this app. I don’t mind paying for a service, game, entertainment but the stories on this app are completely generated with AI. It’s SLOP. My grandchildren can write better stories than these. Every “book” I started listening to has some sort of violence in and or have sexual content as well. To top it all off if you do buy “coins” to listen to extra episodes you get a commercial interruptions. I understand the company needs to get paid but pick 1! Pay per episode or sell ads.

At first you get a decent number of episodes to listen to, then you are reduced to just a few a day, though this is tolerable. Then when you get 3/4 of the way through a story you enter the "Finale Zone" where you must spend coins to listen to the conclusion of the story. Second comes the price. The app is free, coins are not. You receive about 120 coins for $10 if they are on sale. That will get you about 30-40 minutes of listening to an AI voice read your story, sometimes adequately, sometimes very poorly, even pronouncing the characters names incorrectly. Even a short story could cost you hundreds to listen in its conclusion. The app uses coins as it sees fit and sometimes uses them for episodes you already listened to. The app also piles on stories onto your listening list that you have not selected, requiring constant maintenance, and constantly hits you with ads for coins. You could buy several audio books professionally narrated for the price of one of these poorly written stories. I really liked several of the stories and I really wanted to like the app, but it's truely the worst app I have ever put on my phone and when they hit me with the "Finale Zone" I deleted the app.

This app has the potential to be soooo much better! Not only the inconsistency of the video with regards to the story, you also have the story being at times completely random focusing on

Bad adjustment
Getting 1-2 free episodes a day depending on the length (>8mins 2 episodes and <8mins 1 episode) was a blessing, and even then buying episodes would climb exponentially (1,2,8,12 coins) and that was fine. But this new “streaks” system where you get 2 coins a day for logging in, and more every 2 weeks and then bumping up each episode to 9 coins a piece is a little excessive. This app isn’t bad, but take care of the people that support and pay for your app.

Great stories completely ruined by greedy voice swaps
I got hooked on My Vampire System because the early episodes had an excellent narrator (Rory Young) that made the story immersive and exciting. Then around episode 490ish they switched to a completely different, boring, and often AI-sounding voice. The new narration is flat, mispronounces names (Dalki, Raten, etc.), and kills all the vibe.
This bait-and-switch happens on way too many series. They use the good human voices to hook you in and get you spending coins, then switch to cheaper AI or lower-quality narrators for the long haul. It’s extremely frustrating after you’ve invested time and money.
The app itself is fine for discovery and the library is huge, but the constant narrator changes and aggressive coin system make it feel scammy. Fix the voice consistency or at least let users choose the original narration. Until then, hard pass on longer series.

The main stories are good, some side stories are seemingly reprints of the main stories. Too expensive for an audio series.
Coins earned daily add up to a free series after 1 week. 1 episode in a series is around $1.50. Worse is that it auto uses the coins earned. You don’t get the choice unless you pre-apply it. You can’t save them for later.

Just taking money
The stories are fantastic and I wish there was a way to listen without having to pay an amount each time you want a new episode. This would be 1000x’s better if you could just buy a series. Spent too much money on this app. It’s ruined one of my favorite things to listen to.
False advertising
The subscription states 1 hr per day per series but when you bet even half way through a series the stop giving you what you are paying for and say its priority access to finish and they don’t offer priority access just per episode pay. They should be forced to refund full subscription from day one for false advertising
Nonexistent customer service
Received an error when purchasing coins and message said if I was debited the amount I would be refunded after a few days. So I did another purchase that was successful. However I never received the refund for the first payment that I received an error message on.
Messed up the app
I’m a truck driver I listen to audiobooks on my long 10hr drives to pass the time. NOW all of a sudden it won’t keep playing in the background while my 2nd GPS is running 😒
All my stories went back to episode one
I used to love this app, it was my favorite. I don't know who screwed up and why, but EVERY one of my stories have been put back to episode 1. I have at least 10 stories that I like to listen to while I'm working around the house, and I don't have time to go through every story to try and figure out where I Ieft off. Why did your app do this?
The other issue is when they changed the app recently, where everything is 9 coins now, we were told we would get 30 minutes a day of listening for each of our stories. That's not accurate. That's how it started off, and now it's already been reduced. A couple of my stories I still get the 30 minutes, but on many others, including one of my favorites that is a newer one, I'm only getting 2 episodes which is only 20 to 22 minutes a day.

Ruined the whole story
I like the vampire system but as soon as you hit episode 400 the app adds in different narrators. It says it’s the same story but the story’s are different. The British guy seems to really suck at narrating. After episode 411 the title of each episode is useless. Cause you have no idea what episode you’re gonna get. Also some times the episode is half of two different episodes mashed together to make one. As of now I recommend you stay away from this app with extreme prejudice.

I’m just gonna save you time and money .. lots of money.. because literally to get caught up with a story, not even finish it your gonna pay about $600. Also the games and ads that give you free coins don’t work. They give you just enough free stuff to hook you and then basically rape you. The owner of this app is a horrible human being but does he care? No because he’s getting rich by screwing you 2 ways to Sunday. I mean who in there right mind is gonna pay 600 for a story that’s not finished and isn’t even close to lord of the rings which I wouldn’t pay 600 to read.

Great idea, terrible pricing
Initially I really enjoyed the app and got into some really amazing stories, but it wasn’t long until I hit a brick wall. Once the free episodes slow down and the cost of coins start going up you quickly realize that finishing your favorite stores will cost hundreds, if not thousands of dollars to unlock. I’m not sure whose idea it was to mix gatcha with audiobooks but they’re a loon. I don’t mind paying normal audio book prices for mostly AI narrated audio books, but the coin cost is several magnitudes just too high and it’s likely set by how much they think you’re willing to pay. This would be a great monthly subscription platform, but it’s currently way too greedy in the USA region.
Love But needs Work
I have been using pocket FM for a while now and I enjoy it tremendously. However it definitely has faults I just started the subscription program as I thought it would be better than spending $100+ a month on coins however I don’t get free listening for an hour everyday. What happens is it uses the coins I buy then on the last episode that my coins purchased it says it the last free episode for the day. So essentially there are no free episodes and it’s a complete waste for my time and money to pay for the subscription.
Fun app but....
This is my first time and although it started out well watch heir in hidden, I found that it can be expensive if paying 10 dollars per episodes and waiting for free episodes to show up can also take a long time to finish a book. I cant afford to pay for each episodes. My suggestion? Month subscription is more affordable than this. Or at least allow more free episodes than just 4-5 that are short.

This app has some really good stories and you basically watch add or pay with coins that you can purchase or watch as to receive to listen to. You get so many minutes per day.
Each listening section cost a different amount of coins- I don’t comprehend the rate cost. That’s because it is so inconsistent- five minutes 9 coins or 15 minutes nine coins.
They get very expensive! Yes, we are talking 100s of dollars to finish a book.
You used to be you could listen to the story and get so many chapters per day for free and you could spend a couple coins here in there feeling like you did them justice because you were not being a moocher you did pay for some. But after $20 on a book, you should feel like OK you did your share of paying. The company does not feel this way. They won’t even more money. It can cost $300 and more to finish a book.
I don’t know when they did it, but they made a change to where the last few chapters of the book are pay, no matter what or you can’t hear it.

Story’s are great, app is not
This app has no subscription option so you have to pay per episode. So if the series you like is 1600 episodes long and takes 9 coins per episode to unlock, that’s 14,400 coins needed. At $50 for 340 coins, you’re talking over $2100 just to unlock the episodes. Sure , you can watch ads to get free episodes. But the ads are from scam games using the likeness of celebrities like Mr beast to get you to play their games. Not sure why pocket fm allows scam ads to run. There also ads that pop in during listening. If you pay you can disable them for a time. I paid and they still happen. I’m too invested in the story I’m listening to, to just give up, but it still may happen. I subscribe option to listen would be a great option. I’m not paying $2100 for a story. That’s extortion
It’s an OK app
The app has very good stories. Some of the stories messed up, but overall do I recommend it compared to other apps not really other apps allow you to watch ads to get coins this one every day you can watch up to six videos on some of them some of them you have to you get less I wish they had a way where you can watch videos or do certain things to get coins so you can move on through your episodes because the episode. And it takes forever to progress through the story. One of the stories is 701 episodes and you only get six a day. Another one is 250 and another one is 580 and it takes forever to progress through the story so do I recommend it not really.
Do better
I love the concept of the app but the execution still needs a lot of work I read the comments and people mostly talk about the stories which for the most part is great. But the app the coins that seem to charge double when pls a story or the stories that never refresh as advertised every 24 hours or my personal favorite when you buy coins and the stories all of sudden start from the beginning and you’re on chapter 800 something. I can really keep going but one thing I know for sure is the comments in the app how people feel is way different from what I see in the reviews.
Prices for coins are crazy
I fell in love with this app three years ago now they just seem like a money pit, the prices for the coins has stayed the same how do I pay the same and get less?🤷🏾♂️ if I get 40 coins that’s only four episodes who is doing y’all, man y’all headquarters after I finish this series I’m going to delete the app
