Excessive and disruptive interstitial ads ruined this app
I used to love this app, but this new practice of forcing unexpected, full-screen ads just to access features that previously didn't require me to watch an ad has ruined the experience. I've had this app forever and am sad to see this latest version has basically transformed pocket frogs from a fun idle game to a miserable UX ad farm.
Great game, hate the app icon.
Last night I was feeling nostalgic and downloaded the app only to see it uses AI art as the app icon. This is very disappointing, especially since the original icon, while nostalgic, had also fit the style of the game. Now, I must say, the game itself is great. It’s just like how I remembered and I enjoyed playing it. However, I dislike the fact that such a good game uses such hideous computer generated “art” instead of something original from a game designer or an artist.
I’ve seen others talk about this issue on different platforms and spaces, so it seems to be I’m not the only one who shares this opinion and feels there needs to be a change. Please consider it and thank you for reading.

I have played this game since I think 2010. Basically grown up with this game. Until recently, this game has been a long-time, hands-down favorite of mine out of anything I've played. I would be scared to know my playtime. About a year+ ago I came back to it after a busy period in my life thinking I'd easily enjoy it again. I was wrong: I found that NimbleBit added unavoidable advertisements. My issue with the game isn't that Pocket Frogs has advertisements to begin with, because I get why NimbleBit would choose to add them, but the things that are promised such as "Watching rewarded videos removes interstitial ads for 24 hours" and "Any purchase will remove interstitial ads" are a complete scam. Neither of them work correctly. I waited for a bit of time to see if this was a bug and if NimbleBit would fix it, but I think a year+ of time along with multiple updates means it's safe enough to say that this is an on-purpose scam.
NimbleBit also added a menu for rewards for more real-life offers, known as TapJoy, and there's a setting to turn this off (probably for children), however in the menu at the bottom, whether or not you turn those ads off, there's still an option to view them in the game. As such, I wouldn't recommend this game for young kids anymore, and I sure know I enjoyed it as a kid. :(

The company had gone so far as to make a community Discord server (not run by NimbleBit itself, still running with a button in the app for it); they really went above and beyond back then. I don't know if NimbleBit changed hands or if something else happened, but please, please stop scamming your app users. You're hurting more people with this than you think.

Lost All Data
I’ve been playing this game for so many years. Yes he read that right years. Today I logged in and everything is lost. All my data all the frogs I collected gone. it’s got me starting at level one. I’m so disgusted. I’m so hurt.

Why in the world am I getting a popup ad? Two stars is too generous actually, down to one star. Ruined my app.
Used to be great
I am unsure what happened but while playing it just randomly has ads. I have played this game off and on for years. But the constant ads are horrible and I don’t see a way to pay to turn them off.

Been really pushing the Tesla frog lately. Keeps popping up on the loading screens and now it’s available to purchase. I see you.
Too many ads
I played this game for years. Collected all the patterns. A new pattern came out and I tried playing again. The ads are insane. Every few minutes. They interrupt what you are doing. It says if you watch ads intentionally they don’t pop up for 24 hours. Not true. Very disappointed. Won’t play anymore.

This app used to be respected. It wasn’t bloated with ads you were forced to watch, the store was simple and didn’t contain all those “play to win” apps for potions or stamps. I have a deep sense of nostalgia for this app because I used to play this when I was a kid, and now it’s some disgusting money-making platform. Absolutely horrendous. Being forced to watch ads after taming frogs is absolutely egregious.
Not the same fun experience
I had this game so many years ago, when it initially became available. Playing years ago there weren’t very many distractions. Just me and my virtual, collectible frogs. I recently redownloaded this game for nostalgic relaxing game time, and I am being consistently bombarded with the most obnoxious ads. Some ads are even gross and disturbing. I have to close the app and restart it to try and enjoy my gameplay, but at this point I feel like it’s not worth my time anymore. RIP classic Pocket Frogs 🙏😢
I JUST LOST OVER A DOZEN HOURS OF PROGRESS WHAT
so i've been grinding practically nonstop in this game for the past three days, right? and yesterday i was almost at level 7, so i should still be there today, right? i should still have my extra habitats that cost me tens of thousands of coins, i should still have my super sick looking frogs that took me hours to breed and grow, i should still have everything in my inventory that i had last night, RIGHT??? nope. i lost over a dozen hours of progress. i woke up and opened the game to find all of my old frogs and none of my new ones and i was set back at level 4. if i didn't have screenshots documenting my progress to show my friends my growing collection, you would think that i had never progressed beyond that point. i don't know what happened, i don't know why it happened, and i don't know how to fix it; all i know is that i am absolutely LIVID over essentially wasting hours of my life on nothing.

I’ve loved the app but recently came back to it and there are ads that just pop up for everything?! Give me the choice to pay a one time fee or subscription! It’s not fun now.

I've played this game on and off for over a decade. I happened to think of it today and re-downloaded it. I was appalled to see that they are now running those stupid corny King game ads. I would happily pay to purchase this app, but I don't think I can sit through those ads.

I can no longer buy potions and stamps. Why is that? I’m still playing this game and find it fun to play. However, I would still like to make purchases.
