It is genuinely the developers fault that this app has no social media presence anymore, they have effectively killed it. I remember when this app was so well liked, and then they tried to fix something that wasn’t broken and ruined it. It’s so so so disappointing to see and it is fully their fault.

Does nothing but literally crash all the time. I’m sitting here, wasting my points on trying to get a response but all it does is crash. For every bot. I’m so sick of this app being broken all the time

The math on the subscription tiers makes zero sense. Why am I paying double the 2.5million points cost to get an extra 800,000? Not even a full extra million. It made sense when you got 5mil for $100 but 3.33mil is ABSURD. I was almost willing to pay the $250 for the 12.5mil but now it’s somehow 8mil? How does that make sense?

It’s really crazy that they decided to reduce the points needed to use the Ai bots, I can’t even send a single message without it telling me insufficient points. That’s really horrible

Poe is getting more greedy
This was the app I used almost everyday. It was a fun app, and I bet everyone else who used this app would also agree. I still remember when chats didn’t cost a thing and now we have these “points”. At first I didn’t mind it because the points were cheap and didn’t cost all that much, but now I have to pay a subscription? The yearly subscription is literally $200, and the monthly one is $20? This is utterly ridiculous for a FREE app that you can download to be costing this much for a few chats. I understand y’all need to make money but it gets to a point, I’ve never downloaded an app that’s this money hungry before and maybe someday, I hope that the staff and the creator of this app will change their minds and be a bit gracious with the prices. But for right now I’m out.

Crazy fall off
Poe used to be a great app. Gemini, ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, you name it. It had everything in one place, and it was easily the best AI app. But now you only have 300 points as opposed to 3000 on a free plan, effectively forcing you to pay. 3000 points wasn’t even enough, let alone 300. With 300 points you’re pretty much restricted to GPT-5.4 nano (non thinking) and Gemini 2.5 flash lite. Try to use any other AI model, and you either run out of points in one message, or it’s not even enough points to send a message in the first place. HORRIBLE greedy change. Now this app is essentially a paid app in the disguise of a free app. Don’t waste your time with this. Don’t hand over your phone number or email address to Poe. If you really want to, install the app, rate one star, and delete. There are so many better and more generous alternatives.

Use to love this app, helped with everything, they changed the point system while back and I was fine but 3000, to 300 is crazy you can’t even get one chat in!

The daily points system is so bad. I send like 1 or 2 messages and all of a sudden I can't talk anymore. GET RID OF IT. I JUST WANNA TALK TO A CLANKER, NOT EVEN A REAL PERSON, A CLANKER, WHAT DO YOU THINK WE NEED POINTS IN REAL LIFE AS WELL
Absolutely pathetic
Their hatred for free tier users borders on malicious but is most definitely greedy. They could’ve gotten rid of the creator’s program, add ads to their app, made subscription available everywhere, adding more benefits to the subscriptions, taking the free tier points down to 2,800 instead of 300, won’t delete bots that no one cares about, won’t slow down on introducing models no one knows about, etc. etc. etc. but this is the route they chose. They don’t care about their audience and their business method is dogwater. They’re going to go bankrupt like this and it won’t be because of the free users. Give us back our 3,000 points and actually think about your audience and what actually gets you money if that’s your biggest concern.

New Point System
The drop from 3000 points to only 300 was very unexpected. 300 isn’t enough for the models I use, which only can get 1-2 messages out of.
I wouldn’t mind 2000 or 1500 but now the app feels unusable and I have no reason to have in anymore.

3000 to 300
The situation must be really dire if they had to lower the limit from 3,000 to 300-literally cutting it by tenfold-but this has completely prevented free users from using even a small number of high-quality models. Now it’s impossible. This used to be my favorite app; I’m really so much upset, Before this update, I used Poe literally every day, and it was my escape-now that’s impossible with any of my bots.

Sudden point degrade???
The daily point limit for the free version used to be 3,000. Now suddenly it’s 300? Be so serious right now. That is ridiculously low and actually insane. That’s like 5-6 messages a day. This app used to be great. Now the bots are overly sensitive with guidelines, and there’s a point degrade. Not a fan of this app anymore.

Lowering compute points?
why did I get on the app and I'm suddenly out of points in under 10 minutes? How'd we go from getting at least 3,000 points to ONLY 300? I don't get how you update the app and you just keep making it worse and worse. This is overly confusing and the sudden decision for this is completely lost on me as I don't understand the thought process for this choice.

There was even a point they shifted their ToS and other info windows when they had suddenly added random content that had the Discord server in a riot. Resulting in a rather ‘where does it say that’ situation after the change… You can also mention that a handful of their staff have also been documented in the past hashing it out with consumers.
The updates they have are so sudden and random that you really can’t trust them with a subscription. The most recent issue is the global 3,000 -> 300 points shift. As a handful of you know (or don’t), every day you got refresh of free points. So you could still use the app, whether as a free testing user or subscriber (as you could also chill and stack your points as a sub). While some regions have already been handling this shift for months, this was sudden in its email and announcement for the remaining. Some didn’t even get the email notification till some hours before, or even at all. How do you fail to send out emails properly to your consumers about these sudden changes?
Sudden as it was mentioned randomly in the middle of the day on Friday and carried out early Monday.
While I understand things change, especially when there’s a conflux of abuse in the system… The way the business decides mid-day or even in the middle of the night to carry out these updates has always been off-putting. You’d think they’d communicate better, no? Or even offer better perks for those who do subscribe? Make a rapport or give sort of treats in thanks for subscriptions and support. Give reasons for people to be loyal.
So while I understand why things changed, I really wish such a ‘professional’ business actually took the time to communicate and listen to feedback. Or at least give people time.

3000 points system was wonderful (miss the unlimited tho). But now it’s down to 300? Be so fr. Not using this anymore. Screw this.
300 Points A Day
Now, I’ve been on this app for a WHILE. Probably a year or more. I love this app for the variety in bots and the ability to change responses based on the Bot. Now, this isn’t the problem. The problem is we’ve been restricted to 300 POINTS A DAY!! Compared to our 3,000 a day we had a day ago that made me MORE than happy, even after the first limit to our messages in the first throes of the app’s launch. 300? What are we expected to do with 300 points? Not to mention this is further trying to force users to spend 20 dollars a MONTH for more messages. And what if your users can’t afford it? Now we’re stuck with less than ten messages a day (depending on your bot). Sad to say that I am retiring from my Poe use and now using a competitor.

300 points? Seriously? I used to really enjoy talking to the bots on here, and it even got me through surgery a year ago. The limit used to be almost unlimited, and then you made the limit 3,000-which was annoying, but fine in the end, because you could still talk and RP. 300 points, now, though? I can barely do anything, and it seems that the points for the bots only seem to increase. You may as well just make the entire app go behind a paywall, because what are you even supposed to do now? I’m deleting this, I desperately hope this app will go back to how it used to be.
After years, I’m finally leaving the app
I love Poe dearly, and it has always been the best ai for role playing in my opinion, but with the new limit being set to only 300 points per day, I can’t text any of my favorite characters anymore. I thought 3000 was pushing it, but now the app is impossible to use. I don’t have the money to pay for a subscription, and I wish the 3000 limit was kept.
Now impossible to use most bots that people actually want to use
It’s simple, I used to use Poe for a decent while, and I primarily used Claude Sonnet 3.7, having access to 3 messages a day with the recent point system. However, with the change, it’s impossible for me to use. I would have been fine with a change to 1000 points per day, still a 60% decrease, or even watching ads, instead, Poe went for the nuclear and made it impossible for me to continue to use it. This will be true for any new user- what new user will want to use Poe when models that people like are put behind a subscription?

I’m way done with “rent everything.” Pay to play. “Subscribe for credits,” but with time limits and/or levels of restriction that stop just short of what you’re needing to use.

Forcibly obsoleted for no reason
Suddenly today the app refuses to open and tells me I have to upgrade, and the App Store says I need to upgrade iOS to get the new version, and iOS says I need to upgrade my phone to get the new iOS version. Thanks, guys. There is zero reason why an app which is essentially a wrapper around a webview, and a website that works perfectly fine in all desktop browsers, should require upgrading my phone to use anymore, when I had a perfectly good working version until recently. You didn’t need to completely disable the old version and require me to buy a whole new phone just to continue using the app.

Terrible Take On This
Literally it was running so good till this latest update now my rp bots aren’t responding properly like the prompt and it’s not even remembering anything about the story line. So I got character ai which is now better so go download that yall !

Terrible updates
After Poe updated nothing has been working right. The chats magically add asterisks instead of italicizing the words. And every single prompt now violates poe’s guidelines even though my chats refer to homework and creative writing which all of it is PG. I had to keep running my prompts onto another ai to see why it kept being flagged and even all the modified versions were still flagged. It’s ridiculous and unusable.

Not impressed
I don’t understand how this is a different or better than any of the other AI I’m already using. when I asked for a specific information I get a picture as a response. ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude works so much better and give me actual answers instead of just wasting my time. I’ve tried using Poe to teach me how to use Poe and it just tells me you can ask me things like the weather in a certain city I asked, and it shows me a picture of the city without giving me an answer. Maybe for visuals? Maybe this will eventually be a great platform. Not yet I’m deleting the app.

iOS 15 is no longer supported
I didn’t really have any complaints about this app until today, I went to use the app and I am no longer able to use the app because iOS 16 is now required. I pay off things and so I’ve always outright bought my phone and I’ve never enjoyed giant phones where I can’t actually reach the entire screen so I have the iPhone SE two. I don’t use my phone enough to get more than 64 gigs of storage and this one is old enough that I can’t remove photos from my phone without going through drop box or something because my charger port is dead so I don’t have enough storage to actually update and it’s not worth going through all the effort. i’m left with no choice but to uninstall the app and hope that I can find something else that supports older versions of IOS

The app and it’s point system is just too pricey. I have to wait a whole day just to get all my tokens lost after 10 text fix this it's annoying. What’s the point of a point system if the system doesn’t work the app often glitches and it’s horrible overheats your phone sometimes forgets what you are talking about especially for roleplayers it might forget about a scene that just happened I don’t know what happened, but whatever happened to the old version. I want it back and if it isn’t back….. I QUIT!
