Signatures cant integrate with mail app
Don’t let the website lie, you can’t add your digital business card to the mail app on your iPhone. If you’re going to use your work email on your computer 24/7 go ahead but if you ever use it on your phone you won’t have your business card as a signature
Doesn’t work at all
Also doesn’t let me connect to support.
App text doesn’t resize
If you have your text size set to larger than standard, the app is impossible to use because it doesn’t adjust. Buttons are cut off. Most other apps adjust for larger text but not Popl. It used to be a great app and now it’s useless.

Looks Slick, But Leaves You Handcuffed
I’ve been using Popl for digital networking, and I’ll be blunt the product looks polished, but once you get past the marketing, it leaves a lot to be desired.
The biggest issue?
They block access to your own contact database unless you pay for their Pro version. If you don’t pay for pro they grey out your contacts and block them
That means even after buying their physical product, you can’t fully access the people you’ve connected with until you shell out more money - and that wasn’t clearly disclosed upfront. It was the case in using their software.
Your contacts people you earned through networking basically get held behind a paywall.
The tech works and is beautifully seamless (tap-to-share, links, etc.), but the business model feels more like a cash trap than a true networking solution.
I Switched to Dot
After getting frustrated with Popl, I picked up a card from Dot, and the difference is clear:
You pay once, and your profile actually works no hidden blocks.
You can access your contacts and share your full profile from day one.
It’s simple, affordable, and actually designed to help you network, not nickel-and-dime you afterward.
Bottom Line:
Popl has potential but operates with restrictive, paywall-heavy tactics that undercut their own product and their principles which I believe JUMPS THE SHARK.
Dot provides a better, more honest solution for digital networking no gimmicks, just clean, working tools. If you want more bells and whistles well you pay more as you should but POPL literally pay walls which I believe is borderline gorilla marketing and slightly unethical and has me question their model and agenda.

The best way to get a 1-star review from me is to hit me up for a review while I'm in the middle of setting up your app! Why don't you set up your popup to wait until I've had at least a few days to try it out. I'm over here trying to get some work done, but you keep interrupting. You're not off to a good start!
BEWARE: Company provides no ability to cancel paid services continually charging
I paid for an annual membership through a promotional email that offered it to me at 50% off. That does not reflect in my account in the app for some reason.
I had to upgrade to plus temporarily on a monthly charge And have no way to cancel it. The stripe billing portal offers no ability to cancel.- the app doesn’t even recognize that I have the plus membership that I’m being charged for.
And popl customer service is nonexistent they have not. replied.
Resorted to dispute in credit card charges and have no way out of this endless loop of being charged.

Scam Owner
Claims to be a 3rd Degree Blackbelt but is only a 1st Degree and claims he is a Master. Teaches most of his classes while sitting in a cooler on calls his own kids stupid when they don’t execute moves they never been taught. He weighs over 340 lbs and relies on a 12 year old and other children with about 4 years of experience to teach a-lot of his classes. He as a 1st Degree gave his own daughter her first degree. When he did belt promotions, he did not have a yellow belt to give his student, so he gave her the next higher belt. A 3rd rate studio with a 3rd rate instructor.. stay tuned for more on the continuing saga of Eric Williams as we get into his ripping off a 14 year old who was teaching his classes while he sat in his office and played fantasy games.
Can’t figure out how to use
I scanned someone’s pool QR code. I’ve received multiple emails, sMS etc to finish adding the person. It’s way too complicated.
Not great
A very intrusive program, within seconds of using it it seems to be fishing inside my personal details and driving me insane. It was inflicted upon me by a sleazy door 2 door salesman who didn’t have a printed business card and evidently didn’t have the normal kind of business card that you share electronically
Does work
The app keeps crashing every time I load in. They also sold my data to someone 2 days after I started (used a private email to know for certain).

Where did my cards go?
I thought the app was working well and was easy to use. I loved the idea of simply sharing a QR code. Much to my surprise I’ve bee sharing it and my cards have just disappeared along with all of my account info. How is that even possible. I’m just not willing to give it another shot and recreate it all over again. Who knows how many months I’ve been charged for something that didn’t even exist.

Feeling scammed
I was excited to start with Popl, and hurt to find I can only have a small handful of contacts, before paying a price to add more contacts on the so-called free Popl. It looked like a tool for collecting information on prospects. I just purchase the card and imagined it would have space for at least 59 or so contacts with options to add other features. Bad deal, cheap card but no room to add enough contacts!!!! Scammed
Contacts Are Hard To Save
I really would love to give this 5 stars as it’s beautifully designed, has a lot of nice features and looks professional. But the biggest and most important issue is that you have to walk the other person through saving your info on their phone because the save button is in a weird spot. I’ve lost so many connections because they scan and don’t hit the right button.
Not much value in the free version
If all you want to do is share a single digital business card Popl is great. But the free plan doesn’t even let you add contacts of cards you get. I could understand not being able to scan cards or use the AI enrichment but come on…
