I tried to cancel the subscription you cannot to that on the app or change you subscription unless your upgrading. So, it works if you’re giving them more money, but you cannot downgrade or cancel!!!! The app could not decipher my mid-annunciated words. That’s why this app didn’t work for me., Canceling was a nightmare, it will take more money from you, but it will not cancel or down grade your subscription. It was such a hassle. I had to call and talk to a live person. Not to mention when it does the upgrade it doesn’t tell you how much you’re paying. It just says congratulations You’ve upgraded to premium. Worst app I’ve ever used.

I bought a membership, but I couldn’t login and there was no way to contact anybody so I had to go to the credit card company to get my money back. It was kind of a nightmare.
No Upfront Pricing
Put your pricing first instead of wasting peoples time with the app before hitting them up for $$.
The app spends about five minutes or so asking you questions to onboard you. Then has a brief like 30 second conversation with you which didn’t seem to understand a word I said. Then wants you to sign up and then show you the pricing.
The limited and I mean, limited less than five minute exposure that I had to the app didn’t make me feel confident enough about even subscribing. They’re more worried about on boarding and getting a subscription out of you before giving you enough time to determine if the app is even worth your time and money. And I don’t need another free trial that I might forget to cancel. This model is flawed in so many ways.

Never could access the account to use it. Customer service is AI based and not timely. Could not get into account despite recovery method and never received password change links to the account email. Proceed with caution. I was really looking forward to using it .

I was charged $99 for a free trial. Signed up for a 7-day trial, but was charged after 2 days. Cancelled and tried getting a refund but they will not provide it.
Now stuck with this app is not like it’s advertised. The chatbot gets their accents confused and starts talking in a different accent as the one they’re supposed to have. The conversational feature that shows in the Ads does not exist, you just tap to send a voice message and it responds - basically just chatgpt, but with a voice which reads it out loud

PREDATORY ZERO REFUND POLICY
This app automatically converts to a $99.99+ subscription after free trial, and has a ZERO REFUND POLICY.
Even Apple Support was unable to refund me (not their fault). They dug into Praktika’s refund policy and identified the core problem was Praktika. Apple even recommended I file a complaint on their website so they can take down this app if it gets enough complaints.
The company is just sketchy. The founder is just CASHING in on people that accidentally purchase. He lives in Dubai which tells you every thing you need to know. Extremely bare bones app with no customer support.

Using Apple Store to get their money and then blaming that they do not have any control over refunds. Glitching like CRAZY
I think other apps must be fake. This app kept giving me a weird symbol versus saying anything or starting a lesson. It also kept pronouncing my name wrong and that just grates on my ears. I corrected the AI and they were good for all of one phrase before continuing to mispronounce my name. It’s a no for me dawg…
Buyer BEWARE!!
I paid for a whole year subscription through Apple App Store. After a day, no access. I got access one more day after an email from Adam CEO. The next day, I lost access again. - No access again, no response from their AI chat bot, no response from the email I sent directly to Praktika and no help from Apple support.

Like I said in the tittle this company sucks they didn’t try and help me with my problem of not receiving the premium that I paid for and after I called 3 times to try and cancel it because I didn’t receive it on my account they haven’t canceled it to date and I had to cancel my card to get the charges to drop. Don’t download and buy premium

Terrible Japanese pronunciation
I just downloaded the app to give it a try and the pronunciation of Japanese is just terrible.
Trial end reminder does not happen
Beware - when beginning your free trial the option to receive a reminder prior to the end of the trial does not happen reliably. My reminder arrived the day after the free trial ended, and Apple refused to grant a refund.

I was never been able to log into this account. They have charged me 14.99 since December. I have emailed them several times with no response. I have asked for a refund. I have asked for them to stop charging my card. No response. This company is am.

This app is garbage. I wasted $50 on it. The avatars do NOT look like the ads. They look like they’re from a 1994 video game. And their diction is robotic and unnatural. Save your money. Trust me. I’ve asked for a refund, and they refused.
Promising start, turns to trash
Was working great first day. Second day with Japanese tutor I asked to remove the romaji (Roman letters) because it was too easy and I wanted to challenge my reading skills. SUDDENLY he starts pronouncing the Japanese like a novice from Californi: “irasshaimase” turns into “eh-ruh-suh-hai mah-zay). I try to let it know what it’s doing and try to fix it. Doesn’t work. I got exasperated and asked to just add the romaji back in. NOW he pronounces “irasshaimase” as “rah-suh-shee…”. I was planning on going Premium, but can you imagine if I didn’t know better and actually thought these were correct pronunciations??

Subpar Pronunciation
I’ve been using this app to practice Spanish. It uses correct pronunciation sometimes and then other times it’s like it’s reading a text. For instance, it pronounces pan like a pan you cook with not the Spanish pronunciation “pahn.” It did that for multiple words. Very disappointing. If you don’t have some understanding of Spanish beforehand, this is not the app for you because it will not teach you correct pronunciation. I canceled my free trial within a few minutes.
You can tell you are talking to an AI unnatural conversation and cost $99 a year
The price isn’t too bad however way more the Duolingo’s yearly price, and other AI is good at language learning… you know the ones that are free. It’s clear that this app in is its infancy so I look forward to seeing how they app develops but unfortunately I’m not willing to pay to talk to an AI. The way it talks is robotic and I don’t know if I’ll end up sounding like Siri. None the less it’s zero risk zero embarrassment language learning and it’s still somewhat human.
Update broke it
It was ok before the latest update. Now it just says something went wrong and to try later.
Not a good teacher
As an English language teacher I hoped this would help keep my brain fresh on Japanese. However every lesson was either too easy and basic or too difficult and the ai would never slow down or simplify when asked. This was demotivating. I don’t recommend unless you are an absolute beginner
