No 2X Camera
I was really disappointed to find out that the Moment camera app doesn’t support the 2x camera. On iOS, the native camera app includes the 2x option, and it’s something I use all the time. Without it, I feel like I can’t get the most out of my device’s camera. I really enjoy the other features Moment offers, but not having access to the 2x lens makes the app feel incomplete and limits its usefulness for me.
Don’t buy
I just bought this a couple months ago. Now I see the “exciting news” that they are building a new app instead that I’ll have to buy again, and presumably they will forget about and cease to maintain this one. Feels scammy
Black screen when launched from the camera button
Overall a great app, but a camera app must be reliable, and this one bug keeps me from using it - when the app is out of memory (either automatically or by force-closing), the next time the physical camera is used to launch the app, I just see a black screen. It is still working invisibly, tapping the screen/hitting the physical buttons can take photos, but with no preview or controls available.
Once this gets fixed, this will be an easy app to recommend!

App is very buggy
Application is very buggy on iPhone 16 Pro. I haven’t used it since my iPhone 15 Pro in over a year and a half when I decided to use and record a video is crashes freezes and close the application so many bugs needs to be fixed.

I bought this app because I thought it was a professional camera app that allowed me to shoot raw and in manual mode. Turns out that you can’t use this app professionally without first purchasing additional add ons. This app should be called “Barely Intermediate Camera by Moment”. I wish this was steam because I would have immediately requested a refund and never buy from them again.

I bought the app yesterday for $8.99, and it keeps crashing. Complete ripoff and a fast hustle. Complete ga’bage!
Leaves alot to be desired
App is very slow, bought to improve small product photography, better off sticking with stock camera app. Video camera feature is also completely bricked and does not work at all, so definitely dont buy if you plan to use for that. Imagine buying one of the $80+ lenses just for the video part of the app to just not work lol

Useless app wont refund me. You cannot get the 48mp in anyway in this in app. Looks elsewhere
Terrible white balance
I bought this app to lock white balance white taking product for resale photos in my house. It looks great when I open the app and it’s on auto WB. But as soon as I touch the slider it introduces a crazy color cast that I can’t override. It’s usually green. There is no tint option. My mirrorless camera works fine on locked WB in the same room. This app is unusable for me. I’ve been trying to use it for weeks.

Once was great
I use this app all the time to record videos for YouTube. Recently I keep getting a capture error when I end recording. No sound!!
All day I was recording videos for a trip to Hawaii and none have sound. Horrendous quality app. Do yourself a favor and download Final Cut camera or BlackMagic instead.
Useless Camera
Nothing seems to work with this piece of Junk.

Everytime I go to record the app keeps closing out… it’s a great app over all but the issue are so annoying when trying to record.

I HATE the app!
I was hired to record for a venue and the footage that I took was not saved by the application! I contacted support and they said the footage wasn’t saved! I am so upset that all the work I did wasn’t saved and to make things worst the job that I am getting paid for won’t be complete! I would give it a zero!
App is unusable
I don’t know what product owner thought this was a good idea but when I am setting up my shoot I do not want you to suddenly start and stop recording. You all pushed an update and now your application is impossible to use. It’s the most frustrating thing to have it almost working, and your app trying to be helpful interrupts and starts recording on its own. Then I have to stop what I am doing, reset or adjust and try again. I’m on 5 try’s over an hour because of this stupid feature. TURN OFF AUTOMATIC RECORDING!
Confused
I got this app and payed for it. Then I bought the bundle. Well I just had it taken out of my account again with a YouTube subscription tied to it! I don’t know what is going on but I would like some help
Out of sync
This app does not work for long form videos.. The frame rate and audio rate gradually become unsynced for videos over 30 min.
No option to save a zoom setting
It would be nice to have my zoom setting be saved, as is we only get 3 options zoom 1x,5x,.5x it doesn’t help the fact that the only way to tell how far zoomed i am is by taking the photo then looking at the info, other apps have a zoom slider of some sort to at least give you an idea how far zoomed you are. Its great that i can have presets but the preset should also save the zoom i was currently on so i can just pull out my phone and be ready to shoot instead of looking silly trying to find the right zoom.
Lost manual settings
I have had this app for awhile now and have really enjoyed it but all the manual controls are gone on my app.
Freezing, lost video, unresponsiveness, etc
I recently picked up a Moment anamorphic lens for my iPhone 12 Pro (my iOS & apps are completely up to date). Been wanting one for a long time, so I finally made the purchase for a trip I was taking this summer. I used Moment’s Pro Camera app to shoot video and desqueeze the anamorphic while shooting because…of course- it’s their lens. I experienced several issues: • the app would frequently be unresponsive while tapping the stop button while recording. So the app just kept recording even when I kept hitting the stop button. Often, when this occurred, I’d let it keep going in case there was a delay for some reason, but it never helped. I had to quit the app to get it to stop. And whenever I did that… I completely lost all of the footage I had been recording for the last several minutes. I honestly lost several very important clips that I will never again be able to reshoot or re-experience. It’s EXTREMELY frustrating. • There are parts of video clips taken with the app where the video sorta stutters and freezes for extended periods of time while the audio keeps recording. So upon playback, the imagery eventually freezes while the audio continues. So, that renders extended durations of video footage as useless. • While shooting still photos with the app (desqueeze turned on) + anamorphic lens, the first few shots worked well, but then the app suddenly stopped de-squeezing while I was shooting. So I ended up with a bunch of photos that have severe distortion and no convenient way to desqueeze them in post unless I want to import them to a video editing app and the export screenshots at a lower resolution. Very frustrating, very disappointed. Use the app for its convenience, but only if you’re shooting something insignificant. Because, with this buggy app, you will risk losing footage and wasting time.
Update:
I’m on a 14 Pro now. They totally made fixes to improve on my previous issues, to Moment’s credit. Things were great for awhile too, but now the footage is suddenly remarkably shaky. WAY too shaky. The iPhone’s stabilization features used to work while using Moment’s app, but now my footage is suddenly completely unusable with the Moment anamorphic lenses because of how shaky and wobbly it all is. Even with added stabilization in post, everything looks just absolutely awful. I REALLY wish I could see how bad it was while shooting. The viewfinder is so small, in part due to the size of the iPhone’s display itself, but it’s especially difficult to see things while shooting outside in the sun. As a result of the app’s inadequacies, I lost tons of footage that I really wanted to have for future use, and all from from an event that’ll never happen again. Seemingly, on the surface, it’s due to the app suddenly no longer supporting in-camera stabilization for some reason. I wish there were a warning or something. I assume the problem is with Moment’s app itself, since all of my footage taken in the iOS Camera app during the same event is perfectly stable. So yeah, I think I’m done now. I’m gonna just sell all of my Moment lenses and move on- there’s no just telling when this app will work or when it won’t. No more, I can’t deal with the lack of reliability. 🫠

After buying into the Moment ecosystem, you are pretty much stuck into investing in their hardware. Lenses, mounts, cases, etc. On top of that, you had to pay for their camera app which is essentially necessary especially if you're using an anamorphic lens. That's not even a one time charge. Additionally, you need to cough up more cash to buy simple features like slowmo and time lapse. If the app wasn't so inconsistent and buggy, I could at least give 4 stars but that isn't the case. Such a money pit.
Frustrating
I occasionally film concert footage and use my phone as a second camera angle to my main camera. I usually use the filmic pro app but I decided to try out the moment app at a shoot last night.
I filmed a 30 minute long set and once it was over I came to find that the moment app had stopped recording on its own for no apparent reason about 10 minutes into the set. I have plenty of storage space so I have no idea why this happened but this app ruined my shoot.. probably won’t use it again or recommend it to anyone. I’d rather keep paying to use filmic even though this app is free. I’ve filmed hundreds of concerts with the filmic app and never once had an issue.
