Please make this app work with a better sort feature by adding

I like to sort music by the latest date added so I can listen to new songs. Most of the other sort features are useless.
And add a recovery for lost network connection so
I don’t have to keep re-indexing my spot on the playlist.

Laggy, buggy piece of s$it
This is probably the worst app over all platforms I have ever seen in my life. Besides crippled UI, it is extremely laggy, full of bugs (arbitrary reconnects and disconnects), and that’s on top of Qnap’s firmwares constantly being infested with ransomware. Avoid this app and anything else powered by Qnap’s software at all costs.

I have had to call QNAP support numerous times trying to simply update a new NAS and that took two phone calls. Support prefers to log in and do things themselves and sometimes it conflicts with another support tech previous mess.
After QNAP tried to remote access my NAS by opening up proper ports all failed. I called my ISP and they opened up ports, ports were also open up Google Mesh (router) and QNAP still couldn’t connect to NAS.
Browser, Apps none of it works. I’ll return it to store and look for another NAS brand.
Update:
After hours researching and looking over every aspect in settings I figured it out. Ports defaulted incorrectly. 8080/8081 and 8081 was the culprit! 8081 was changed to correct, 8080. Another problem when using all QNAP app it takes multiple different login’s to begin using each app/NAS applications. That’s totally nail biting frustrating, because it seems theirs a trigger that presents login opportunity from the cloud-side itself within each app. Y’all developers really need to WAKE UP simplify this process cutting down steps. The worse thing about QNAP is their keyboard function with 2FA = crazy, thoughtless mind binding.... Google AUTH only provides seconds before changing code; however, within each QNAP app you must tap 1,2,3 numbers key on keyboard next to ‘space bar’ then tap number..... understand! Your doing this for every field! You gotta have a good memory and be super fast with keyboard. Not even Binance or any other 2FA I’ve experienced is this cumbersome as QNAP. It’ll make you hate life.

Awful experience after upgrade
Dropped all my music from Downloaded with the upgrade to “a better Downloaded interface”.

It will play music from QNAP but thats about it. Needs a lot of refinement. Will only play certain audio formats if selected in a particular way. For example if i choose artist and then a song it states that cannot play this format (.aif), but if i choose folder and select he same song it plays. ???
Also when you tap the song to play, it adds the entire album to now playing. ???
App does not synch ‘now playing’ list with qnap only ‘playlist’. This would be helpful for queueing music on your desktop to be played on the app or to resume playing on the app.

Latest version won’t log in

Cannot Do Anthing
I'm using the first generation iPad mini. I could not do anything with ver 2.9.0, everything crashes the app. I cannot play a song, I cannot download, etc. Previous version was working great. Fix it immediately, please?
Doesn't work with iTunes music format
App works with Music Station not the iTunes server, but Music Station does not support the iTunes file format, so music purchased on Itunes won't show up. They really need an iOS version that supports Apple's .m4a format. I'm unable to access most of my music with this app.
Total garbage
Using to cast to my marantz receiver. Will not stop communicating to my system - I can't shut it off. I have to restart the NAS. The user interface has no controls to turn off signal.
Tracks out of order
Doesn't recognize track numbers in albums, so all the songs are out of order.

Worst User Experience for a good NAS
I found this app very hard to use. Everything starting with the UI. I listen to audio books and its disappointing the app doesn't have basic playback speed control. We have lot to improve. Please view successful music apps in the app store like vlc, cloud beats etc for UI and feature ideas. Thank you and good luck.

There are so many problems with this app. Terribly frustrating experience! Do not use!
- Loses your playlist constantly, overwriting it with songs you never selected
- Loses your place while navigating, making you constantly have to scroll through pages and pages and pages of artists, albums, or folders that you've already loaded
- Sorts music alphabetically rather than according to MP3 tags, making audiobooks impossible to listen to
- Does not properly register music to play in background meaning that whenever you have to switch apps the music stops
- Does not buffer music so external audio systems (e.g. Car audio) switches back to built-in music, forcing you to re-click play button after *every* song!
- No ability to fast forward or rewind! This is confounded by the problem with having to restart music whenever you switch apps...you have to start from beginning of the song
- many many other issues but I'm now exhausted typing all this on my phone.

Very poorly written application
App constantly crashes, music constant skips. Now playing screen non-existent and no playback controls available. Lacks functionality in changing views permanently (i.e. Thumbnail view, list view). Developers should fix these issues and release new version. Makes no sense to have such an expensive piece of hardware with poorly written apps.
What is this?
Did a 5 year old create this on bring your kids to work day at qnap? This is even worse than any Apple app created in the last 5 years. CrashTastic!

It used to play music, although with a really, really bad interface. Now it immediately disconnects if I try to play anything. I'm due to get a bigger, better NAS, so I'll look hard at the competition to see if they have the technology to play music on a phone.
Keeps crashing in iOS 9
It keeps crashing when playing apple lossless m4a files in iOS 9. Please fix it.

I cannot listen to any music because it crashes 9 out of 10 times before playing anything and the last 1 out of 10 it crashes right after
Frustrating
App initially worked for 1 hour. Now it won't get past the login screen. QFile, Qmanager connect just fine with the same credentials. Default port is open and not blocked, ect. QMusic is why I bought my NAS. 5 hours of trouble shooting and I'm about done.

I love my QNAP NAS but this app crashes as its connecting. Really wish that it worked.
Never connects

Only works on same subnet
This app only works while you are on the same subnet, no way to set it up for use on myqnapcloud. I have to use Qfile to access my music while I am away from home which is annoying.
Needs to play lossless
I just don't understand why qfile which is not a music player can play apple lossless files, but qmusic cannot. Qmusic would be great, but for me it is useless without apple lossless capability. I have the utmost respect for Qnap products, and I can only hope that this functionality will be incorporated soon. If it cannot, is there a reason?

Unable to add a NAS without it crashing.

disappointing...
it looks like some high school project and not an app made by one of the big tech company...first problem is i cant get past login page, and get many failed logings...if i have succeed in login, i cant browse anything, it just stuck there and you cant do anything? i dont know whats the point of this app? and a message to qnap people, any serious audiophile who's investing in nas is controling its music by ipad and not with an iphone, so we need an ipad app as well!

I’m trying to set up a music streaming service so I don’t have to rely on Spotify or Apple Music. I set up the VPN was able to connect to the network and connect with the app to the QNAP NAS and play music. Queue music does not compress the stream and it is very large.(450KB/s to 1.5MB/s) It will eat your cellular data fast compared to Spotify, which is only crumbs of data. If QNAP could fix this by adding media compression on the stream, this would be an excellent option for self-hosted streaming. Other things like the UI in the app should be completely redone copying either iTunes and Spotify and other top music apps for a better more refined user experience. This would make QNAP a more compelling consumer option for a NAS over the competition.

Could definitely be better
I bought the nas to store my music and audiobooks and so I could access them without using apple’s apps so I could stop using my old Mac computer. There is no support in this app for audiobooks. It does play the audiobook files but does not keep bookmarks so I have to keep track of my place on my own. And now the took away the landscape view making it even harder to find my spot on longer books. It is usable, but could be so much better. Please add support for audiobooks!!!
No audiobooks support
This app maybe OK for music, but it has absolutely zero support for audiobooks. Basic audiobook features (which are so easy to implement) like forward/back tap stepping, remember book locations, book info - none of that.
One big reason I bought my NAS was to store audiobooks. I suspect many people do the same. Not having a good audiobook app is a big let down by QNAP IMHO. I hope they are reading feedback and take it seriously.

QNAP Music - Updated to junk
While the smartphone app is ok, the management software was updated to junk.
When I got my QNAP, I was able to point QNAP Music to the right folder and the music populated. I did not have to upload all my 200+ music folders through this now useless software. While there is an option to create new folders it does not work. The latest update made the software clunky and cumbersome. Shame.

Need 2x speed
With some audio books it'd be great to have 2x speed. Currently I had to use qfile to copy to VLC for double speed. Please fix. Thanks.

Doesnt show all songs
I have like 10 hall & oates songs stored on my cloud but when i open this app it only shows 1. this is sooo frustrating!
Could have been perfect, but...
I want to love this app - I can get my music to play anywhere my phone has signal - but the playlist feature is useless. Just adding every music file in a folder to the playlist in order of file name is impossible. The sort feature seems broken, too. It is frustrating to see what could be a perfect solution for managing my music spoiled by something so simple. Please fix this app!
Bad Update??
Since the last update it takes forever for a song to start to play after cueing (if it even plays it all). I've been using this for the previous year with little problems but now it is almost un-usable.
Better alternative
Install Plex instead and you'll be good to go.
Could Be Great
It works for streaming music but the GUI is lacking compared to other players. You also can't scrub through MP3 files. That is a basic feature that every other player has. This app is just a few features away from being a great app. Until then I'm going to use plex for my music library.

Not Working on iOS 8
I would give it more stars however it no longer works on iOS 8. It was working (only on wifi before I updated.) app just crashes after opening it. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it however that is not fixing the problem. PLEASE ISSUE AN UPDATE TO FIX THE PROBLEM.
Features need work
Random music feature plays same songs all the time. Music now playing does not display in device's (car radio head unit) display console. No setting to disable sleep mode when iphone is charging. Playlists are only 600 songs. In other words, this app is lacking many of the features other music players have.
Really?
This is the first app that can play music DIRECTLY from my Qnap NAS, via remote access. Moreover, this is the first one that can do so while shuffling songs, so that you are not stuck listening to the same songs over and over, each time you start the app.
Except... that is not what seems to happen. I have used it for two weeks now, each and every day I drive to work and from work. For the last five days or so, I have started to notice that I am listening to the same songs as yesterday, and the day before. Not all of them, but many. I have close to 6000 songs, in folders by the first letter of artist's last name. Just like everyone here, the only playlists i have are those in iTunes. Qnap can't use thos, but luckily it has a "random song" button - the only one of any use to me. I click on that every time, followed by clicking on little "shuffle" sign in the playlist that the first move generated. Try it and see how small that Qnap randomly-generated playlist is. And why the heck is it always the same songs, or at least so many repetitions from "totally random" set from yesterday?!
