Scam Subscription
Got a charge for this without even knowing what it was. Contacted support immediately within 30-45 minutes, after I had to figure out what a “Qobuz” was, and was told that they couldn’t refund a fraudulent subscription charge, but they COULD offer me a free 2 months of the service instead. Pretty scummy considering I never had any interest in even finding out what this thing is, much less trying to use any of it. Honestly sad.
Frustrating!!
Such a great catalog and resolution but the app’s interface is so messy and user unfriendly!! Please, get it together, straight out the app, learn from other services and you will see how the people will follow!!
app malfunctioning
Looking at recent reviews, I'm not the only one who's been encountering app issues-most of the albums on the homescreen no longer load, the search function returns nothing no matter what I write, and only one or two songs in a playlist will play. Very frustrating, I switched from Spotify to support something that is better for the artists and their art but Quobuz needs to fix their app's bugs.
Nothing works
The music takes forever to load, often playing a few bars and then minutes of silence even when I am on strong WiFi or cell service. No way to play favorites on shuffle or download all favorites. If listening offline apparently the time listening offline is limited between connections. I want to support artists and more conscious platforms but if I am paying for music they need to do better with quality functionality and customer service.
i miss pre-ai spotify
good luck getting a hold of a customer service representative
I tried to wait
I tried to wait for qobuz to get it together, waiting for the app to get better, for me to stop crashing out everytime the app would stop working or would recommend me the same garbage song, that I hate that I coincidentally can’t block becuase no such feature exists. I do feel guilty since qobuz pays artists so well, and has a clean record politically but how can I lie to myself the UI and interfaces and algorithm SUCK. I would like to return if you get some things in order first. Bye qobuz. I’m already loving DEEZER.
Apparently the best music streaming app morals can buy
Edit: Qobuz used an AI chat bot to respond to all reviews and that’s why all 3 star reviews have a Spanish response.
Extremely lame as getting away from AI is one of the main reasons i switched.
Original review:The best music app you can get while shopping with your morals.
Unfortunately, morals fail to buy very much.
First, the good:
They’re not unethical monsters like the Spotify CEO whose pet project is treating artists like garbage to fund his bad AI projects and war mongering.
Also, the quality when everything actually works is top notch.
The bad:
The search function is atrocious. That top 100 song you just searched for? Here’s a song that doesn’t have any of the same words in the name as a the top result.
Oh, did you want to listen to this one song? Well, despite letting you add it to your playlists, for some reason that song isn’t available today (and it’s always some generic song. Today it’s Young Blood by the Naked and Famous).
The app is slow on phones, frequently lags when switching songs and has the same shuffling issues as its peers where it seems to default to the same 5 songs every single time.
And finally the worst discover functions I’ve ever seen where they have curated playlists with the same 10 songs in them over and over. Seriously, look up a couple 2000’s playlists and count the duplicates in the top results. Oh, and when the app does bother to give you suggestions, it’ll be 100
Bands you’ve never heard of that sound nothing like anything else on your playlists.
I use Qobuz due to ethics. I get that for whatever reason they hate the casual Spotify crowd but it’s a shame I can’t get casual listener functionality AND not have to worry about my money funding AI slop and war.

Spent $300 on music I never received. No support channel
My first experience with Qobuz has been horrible. I decided to buy $300 worth of music and the payment went through although my cart is still full and I have no purchases listed. There is no support channel that I can find. So I’m out $300 until I dispute the charge with my credit card company. Buyer beware.
The music is good. The system and webpage is garbage
Can’t navigate system. No way to change email. No way to see account info. Horrible
Scam
I tried to buy music from their download store and they took my money and I receive no download or items I purchased
App malfunctioning?
App can’t find any arstists im looking for. Suddenly artists I’ve been listening to are unavailable in my country? (US based bands being played in the US). And the app has a lot of trouble figuring out how to play downloaded albums in places where mobile service is limited…. Then how is it downloaded? Why is it “impossible to play track” in the middle of a downloaded album I’ve been listening to for the past few days? I contacted customer service about issues weeks ago and I have yet to get any kind of response! Cmon! This app used to be great, but I guess no streaming apps can be remotely good.
Worthless to me
I purchased an album for the specific purpose to burn it to audio CD so I can play it on my system. I followed the instructions best I could but the icon to start the burn process is not there.
If I just wanted to stream it, I could do that for free with my Apple Music subscription.
Requested assistance but they never got back to me.

Not a great app for punk music
You can’t select punk as a genre on the main page and there aren’t any good punk playlists premade. The few punk playlists contain music from other genres.
Excelente calidad pero pésima carga de temas
Hola. Hace tiempo que vengo experimentando fallas en la app al momento de reproducir una canción. No es problema de mi servicio de internet. Soy usuario de otros servicios de streaming y eso no sucede. Por favor arregla. También sucede con la app de escritorio. Gracias
CarPlay
Makes my CarPlay crash. Please fix asap
It's 2026
Basic features like adding multiple songs to a playlist or viewing a track and going from the track to the album just don't work.
Why does navigation and control have to be so bad?
Why does navigation and control have to be so bad?
Constant Pausing
Im playing an album or playlist with plenty of wifi and somehow it keeps pausing every-time out of nowhere. Instead of enjoying the music now Im just getting irritated by the lack of consistency
Insufficient Spotify Replacement
I've been paying for premium for about 8 months and I use the app for several hours a day most days of the week. Track details are scant at best, so if a song features more than one artist, you have to look to a third party to figure out who that featured artist is. The algorithm is not intuitive and consistently "shuffles" from one album to the SAME TRACK every time, ignoring the fact that I have never let the song play and switch to something else every single time. There's no way to indicate that you don't like a song, artist or genre, so you can't curate or influence your own algorithm at all. It's pricier than all its competitors and it's becoming clear that the focus is really on its associated magazine. I loathe Spotify and Apple Music, but I no longer would recommend this app as an alternative to those. The anti ai music measures are so lax that they're almost not even an actual selling point or benefit to using this over its competitors. It's still on the platform, still comes up in the shuffle, they just label it as ai. That's it. No preference setting to eliminate it from your feed entirely. What are we even doing here.
No download support
So let me get this straight: I can buy the albums on the app or on Safari but in order to download the files in the format I paid for I have to use the desktop version? Why isn’t this possible on mobile at all? This app is only a Spotify clone.
Tracks don’t play or skip
Qobuz has a serious problem that is not getting fixed. Sadly, I will need to switch services associated it’s become untenable over the last six months. Minimal to no communication from Qobuz, no refunds or extensions. Sounds great when it works but I can’t get through a listening session without a playback issue. It’s not my setup, this is a widely known problem. Very disappointing.
Two screens to shuffle
If I start a playlist on shuffle don’t you think I’d want to keep it shuffled?
Frustrating app functionality
My frustration with Qobuz is mostly related to the app on iOS. I’ve been randomly signed out of the app and consequently lost all downloaded playlists and had to redownload them, which takes forever. The player also randomly stops working, even when trying to play a downloaded song. Songs can also take awhile to buffer, even on WiFi. I rely on music a lot for work and delays or issues like this are disruptive.
Solid alternative to Spotify, but needs major improvements
If you’re looking to switch to something that isn’t Apple Music, Amazon, or Spotify, Qobuz undoubtedly pays artists the best and has a solid selection.
However, it’s frequently just… really bad. Firstly, playback is laggy and if frequently won’t automatically play the next song if it’s downloaded in a different resolution than the previous one. Sometimes, playback just stops for no reason. Even the lowest resolution downloads take up way too much storage. If a download failed or if only one song on the album is downloaded, the whole thing just shows up as downloaded in your library.
There are a lot of incomplete discographies, and artists with the same name often get their discographies combined under one artist.
If you make even one typo while searching for a song, the app won’t guess what you meant. Unlike Spotify or Apple Music, if you search for lyrics the song won’t show up either, nor does the app show lyrics at all.
There are often a couple duplicates of albums, with one for Hi-Fi and one for regular and one for explicit and 3 different remasters, which makes it difficult to see if you’ve already saved an album and makes it common to have duplicates of songs on playlists because they come from different versions of the same album.
There are a few more minor issues, like labels clogging up the recently played tab in your library, but this app has pretty severe issues. Worth it if you’re an audiophile though, because the Hi-Fi feature is great.

Download and streaming experience have downgraded significantly in 2026
It was going down even in 2025, but my experience in downloading tracks and streaming have both been quite bad in 2026. It’s about time Qobuz fixed the problems on their app.
Functioning
I don’t know what it is but downloading music takes Forever and then after it’s downloaded it still doesn’t play as if that were to be the case. Playback is delayed and sometimes the whole app will crash or it skips songs due to “error” but if you go back to press it directly it will play (sometimes). And for some reason all the music that was downloaded just undownloaded itself after taking Days to supposedly download to begin with. I don’t normally comment on apps but I take my music very seriously - it took me forever to move on from Spotify bc nobody had the range or features that would make the switch worth it. I had hoped to find something here but it really feels like I downgraded. There’s even a lag in response from going from play screen back to playlist or just swiping through the app in general. Not to mention that a few songs that I enjoyed are not even available ON the app itself. It’s just overall starting to be frustrating to deal with and maybe it’s just a my phone thing but I did not have such problems when I had Spotify or any other music app for that matter.
Paying more for less features
You don’t have gapless playback, you don’t get an equalizer, the ui kinda sucks, can’t play downloaded music manually unless you actually dont have ANY internet, and my music sometimes doesn’t even play after the previous song ends. The only reason I’m giving Qobuz 2 stars and not 1 is because they can actually somewhat recommend good albums is like and MAYBE the sound quality but I can hardly hear a difference between this and Spotify.
Glitchy Subscriptions
One star for paying artists, one star for high audio quality. Not a functional streaming app. There are always issues with loading tracks regardless of internet connection, and once a month my subscription stops working (in spite of the subscription fee having been paid) and I can listen to only samples.
quitting
sad to say i cancelled my subscription. music quality was awesome but UX sucks and playback issues have only been getting worse. constant random errors and skips, if i skip two songs in a row the whole app freezes and i have to restart. i'd be happy to come back if there were meaningful improvements but it just doesn't work for now.
Want to love it, app need work
I love the audio quality, I love how much they support artists with fair royalty distribution, I like the human element with the editorial. This company I stand behind, the app needs major work.
Music discovery is poor at best. Even with tons of stuff saved it doesn’t give me a whole lot to explore. 2 curated playlists in weekly and dailyQ, and unfortunately those often have music you already have saved. Hardly “discovery.” A few more that are “similar to” or “rediscover” but the options are very limited.
You really have to rely on the editorial section but those don’t change very often and typically aren’t really genres I care for.
This is where I think AI really has an advantage, unfortunately. Spotify’s music discovery feature was literally bottomless and that was very appealing and always relevant to my taste.
Searching for music is very weird, top tracks and artists don’t appear in the default category. You have to filter for song or artist to get what you’re looking for. Forget trying to find something if you misspell anything.
I cannot for the life of me figure out how to shuffle songs across my saved library. The shuffle function while in releases will shuffle entire albums, not songs. Shuffle in Artists will only shuffle songs by that artist.
In general the app is glitchy. I was just trying to “follow” artists from my library in hopes it would improve my discovery feature and everytime I taped “follow” the artist list would glitch out and disappear.
I also really wish they would release an app for AppleTV so I can play higher resolution directly through the AppleTV and into my home stereo receiver. Airplay is limited and often compressed, and for a brand that aligned itself with audiophiles, I’m surprised at this limitation.

Bad app performance
I really like this streamer, but this app is horrible. Regular error messages when clicking on a track or artist along with it inexplicably skipping songs or jumping back to already played songs in a queue. The search function often just doesn’t show a result, even when I type exactly the song and artist I’m looking for. Not to mention it regularly delays songs playing or has music cut out in the middle of songs and take time to buffer before continuing, which is extremely frustrating. Really hope they figure this out.
Could be great
We need a block button to block artists we don’t want to support or simply don’t like. It’s not fun trying to find new music then getting a song by someone you hate. We need a better shuffle option. Every time I shuffle my playlists they play in the exact same order playing the same songs over and over and over again. And the song recommendations aren’t the greatest. Like they’re not even the same genre of music that I’m usually listening to
Needs repair!
I really want to love this app for all you stand for and offer, but you are a music playing app that doesn’t play music. If you like to listen to the first 4 seconds of every song and wait 15 minutes for the rest of it, this app will do. Please fix it Qobuz!
Really not good
Search engine is god awful. Make sure you know exactly how everything is spelled for the artist or song or else you won’t get the results you want. The app also constantly freezes. It struggles to download music. Rarely works with Siri. I have had playlists of mine just disappear and that paired with the awful search engine makes me not able to find some music.
When renewal fails!!!
Every time when renewal fails, and I choose to renew manually, I go an hour of frustration trying to convince the app that I have subscribed through my apple account, they really need to fix this!!
I want a refund, buggy in app
I subscribed on the app but it still insists on playing me the sample music instead of the full songs. Music availability is a bit limited too.
Technical Support?
This app is NOT working and idk how to resolve it? I love the idea of the app but a lot of music is not on here, I can’t always get it to work, and artists only get paid if they have a record label which is pretty sad for actual indie artists. Anyone else know of another alternative to Spotify?
