user interface problems to no end
This app was clearly written with some cross-platform API, which in itself is bad practice.
But the developers didn't even make an effort in trying to make the user interface usable on an iPhone.
No standard shortcuts work.
No gestures work the way they're supposed to work on an iPhone.
external controls such as AirPods are broken.
For a broadcasting institution of the size and budget of RAI to publish an app that could have been written by a student for an undergrad software project, is an embarrassment.
And it has never improved over the years. Since RAI decided years ago to commission a cross-platform API app, it's been a disgraceful result.
But the developers didn't even make an effort in trying to make the user interface usable on an iPhone.

Che delusione!
A parte il fatto che molte volte non si riesce a farla partire oppure fa crash, la RAI fa un gran rumore sul fatto di unire gli italiani all’estero…ma la stragrande maggioranza dei programmi è visibile solo sul territorio italiano. Capisco i film sui quali possono esserci diritti legati alla territorialità, ma pure programmi musicali o di varietà ? Cércate di venire incontro a noi italiani all’estero!!!
Worst App Ever
Prob the worst app ever. Does nothing else but freeze. Save yourself some frustration and pass by it.
Useless garbage since update
Needs to be unfixed, it used to work really great until they “ fixed” it with the update.
Don’t update!
After the latest update the app keep crashing and freezing up at many programs it used to broadcast with no problems. I should have read the reviews before updating and I regret doing it. Please fix it asap! It is a shame that instead of fixing bugs the update makes the app worse!

As often with apps released by italian governmentalorganizations, this is is exactly what one shouldn’t do when designing an app. And with the latest update you have to log in almost every time you use the app.

So what’s the point of having an app with a bunch of programming in another country if you won’t allow the people in that country watch it ?
I live in USA . have my cable tv ,over 500 channels,Netflix , Amazon prime video …so I actually don’t really need RAI . I was just curious to listen to Italian once in a while and possibly learn some Italian and hopefully it’ll inspire me to go there on vacation.
It would basically be free advertising for Italy . But Italian politicians/ leaders aren’t well known to be very business savvy . Reminds me of Brazilian politicians that required visas for many years for Americans to visit Brazil …basically inflicting pain in their own economy because they were not to bright . Finally they dropped that stupid requirement. Hopefully Italians will let us watch Italian tv and not have a useless app outside Italy ..that won’t allow others to watch .

Dovrebbe avere la possibilità per noi l’italiani nell’estero di potere guardare la Rai.
Awful execution
Rai has always been at the forefront of innovation in broadcasting technology, but frequently lacked the resources and operational capabilities to bring its innovations to scale. In this case, nothing had to be innovated (it was enough to copy what all the other broadcasters are doing with their apps); nevertheless the result is a total disaster, mainly because a glitchy front-end cannot deliver a steady stream due to an insufficient amount of resources on the back-end. What a shame.
Crashes, worst app
I’m not sure where I’m going wrong but this app freezes, crashes, and is otherwise not operational. Sometimes if I’m lucky I’ll get a gray screen with the Oops error message.

Pessima app, non esiste un restart per il telegiornale, durante il telegiornale o dirette e più delle volte che si blocca , non e assolutamente studiata bene preferisco Mediaset play , che non da problemi del genere e posso rivedere il tg se in ritardo , e non si blocca mai mai

This app is absolutely useless in the US because very little, actually almost nothing, can be seen from the US where RAI cannot deliver due to copyrights. If so, why even bother having this app available for dowload and installation in the US where it is useless?

Full of bugs
The app is full of bugs, the shows shut down unexpectedly and to reconnect you have to watch ads all over again! And this is supposed to be our public service...
Peggiore app di una tv
Senza ombra di dubbio la peggiore app di una televisione in cui mi sia mai imbattuto. Non si riesce praticamente a riprodurre niente senza che la app vada in crash. Alle porte del 2020 non dovrebbe essere complicato fare una app che riproduca video e che semplicemente...... funzioni. Il nostro sistema pubblico riesce anche in questo triste primato. E mi tocca pure pagare il canone.
Essentially unusable
How can I begin to illustrate what a horrible update this is.
Just about every title listed shows as “unavailable” and it continually crashes.
I emailed tech support several times and never received a response.
Bring back the old app. At least it didn’t crash every 5 minutes.

Ma perché’...
...quando una cosa funziona bene, come l’app precedente, va cambiata con una più nuova che non funziona più? E poi per promuovere una cagata simile si ingaggia uno bravo come Fiorello...
- il login va fatto ogni volta, basta uno starnuto e devi rifarlo.
- mai una volta che si ricordi dove si è interrotto un programma, ricomincia sempre dall’inizio.
- se aggiusto il volume coi tasti dell’iPhone, va in crash e deve essere rilanciata (più login, ricerca del programma e va fatto ripartire dal punto giusto...)
- c’è sicuramente qualche altro bug che non ho ancora scoperto, vi farò sapere!
- il login va fatto ogni volta, basta uno starnuto e devi rifarlo.

Difettoso
Aggiornato l’applicazione e effettuato l’accesso, non funziona l’accesso ai dati dell’account. Il menu account sparisce appena tocco qualcosa in lista. Quindi è impossibile variare le scelte sul privacy e accedere agli altri dati. Quindi è proprio difettoso questa app.

Miserable programming
A couple of examples: the total absence of science and technology from the documentary selection illustrates the RAI cultural bias towards the old television subculture, as well as the presence of Yuja Wang in classical music. A sad reminder of how poorly the forced economic contribution of the italian public is wasted by an uncompetitive organization filled of apparitchik appointees.
Far away from bbc iPlayer
This version image quality is far away from BBC iPlayer quality. The current quality is not true HD. Why pubblicità on a station funded by tax payers?

Non funziona
La versione 4 era pessima, ma almeno consentiva di vedere qualche programma. La nuova versione richiede la registrazione, ma crasha quando uno prova a registrarsi. Ridicoli.
Bugs, crashes, lista programmi not working
Great app but very unstable. Usable at the moment. The previous version was way better. One of the problems is that the programs are not available timely as before with the previous app. I am in Los Angeles, 9 hours behind Italy. At my lunch/dinner time I used to watch programs aired at lunch/dinner time in Italy thanks to the time difference. Now I don’t see the programs until the day after. The “dirette” don’t work. Please fix or return to the old app. Multitasking doesn’t work anymore. I can’t watch RaiPlay and browse the internet.

Con l’ultimo aggiornamento l’app prende l’orario dal telefono e se sei all’estero non ti permette di guardare l’ultima edizione del telegiornale anche se è stato trasmesso da varie ore perché non considera il fuso orario. Per favore risolvete!!!

The latest update broke chrome cast streaming. Congrats RAI again...

È l’unica app che non funziona con Chromecast, tutte le altre app ( Netflix Hulu ecc) trasmettono il segnale alla tv immediatamente, con RaiPlay ti chiede il PIN e poi non trasmette....
