Can’t even mute notifications
The app itself is cancer. You can’t even mute notifications for contents that you don’t follow. Some of the features don’t even show up on my iPhone properly. They also ban your account for no reasons.
No respect to users
Strict speech censorship, too many promotions, and bullying users.
Spamming notifications unstop
For the past month, the notification system seems to be broke. I set to only receive DMs but now it’s like promo contents every hour. The notification setting has a bug and I reported to Customer Support but it’s 100% AI automated unhelpful stuff.

This is a Chinese social media platform that will provides many contents for people who will like to meet Chinese and learn their culture. If you aren’t able to interact with the app, what good is that? The platform will band you for no reasons. You will not get a response from them and force you to provide your personal information. if you mentioned a country name, you will be band. I suggest you do not invest in this app! It will waste your time and your hard earned money.

I’ve been using Xiaohongshu for nearly 5 years, and honestly, it’s become incredibly hostile toward small personal businesses. The rules change every single day.
Recently, my friends and I noticed that hundreds-even thousands-of our posts have completely vanished from the search results. Even when I upload a new post and everything looks 'normal' on my end, it’s nowhere to be found in the latest feed. It’s like we’ve been shadowbanned for no reason.
The customer service is a joke. They are basically no different from AI-zero help. I spent days trying to reach a real human, only to get hit with the same generic templates that solve nothing. I’ve looked into this and realized so many others are in the same boat, some for over a month now. Instead of fixing their buggy system, they just blame the creators. It’s a lazy, broken system. I really hope a new app comes along to replace this soon.

The captions in app don’t work so I literally can’t understand the videos which is a bummer. The Ui does translate to english but since the last 2 update the captions don’t work on videos. Hope they fix this soon

I tried sending messages but it’s not going through and I didn’t do anything, I was only talking about business with a friend and he initiated the conversation, and my account was suspended but he’s own account wasn’t suspended or is it because I’m black that’s why you people are bias ? Then you shouldn’t allow Africans to signup in the first place, because most Chinese will use it as an opportunity to trade in Africa and what’s my crime in all of this when he clearly wants to trade in Africa

用了小红书很多年，最近三个月评论发出去之后只有自己能看见，其他人完全看不到，账号自检显示正常，也没有收到任何违规通知。
联系客服后，对方先是发模板话术让我”调整描述遵守规范”，后来又拿去年一个已经处理完的旧问题来搪塞，完全无视我指出的时间线矛盾。全程没有一个有实质处理权限的人跟进，就是车轱辘话来回转。
平台对用户实施隐性限制，不告知原因、不给解决方案、客服推诿敷衍，严重侵害用户知情权。已向12315投诉。

the platform is too restrictive. Anyone can report you for any made-up violation and their AI verfication will ban you regardless. Forget about disputing it because it is all in chinese and your protest is ignored.
