Upgrade not working
I purchased the upgrade which is a monthly charge. Because I didn’t want it to renew on April 19, I cancelled the subscription. Apple says the subscription will cancel on April 19. None of the upgrades are working.

Not connecting to data. Can’t get past first screen to set up
Log on Glitch
The app currently has a glitch. When attempting to log in, it does not open the app. Tried resetting the password with the same result. Double checked to make sure this was not a password error by entering the password incorrectly and this produced the password error message. In conclusion, the app is not opening with the correct password.
Yikes. Watch out
I’ve loved the Kauai reviewed by wizard for years. When I renewed on the Kauai reviews app they were happy to take my money. But the app doesn’t work. It appears to be shifted to this app. But the money paid to them on the other app doesn’t apply. Now it app that I’m out 17.99. In general I’ve enjoyed their reviews over the past 20 years. Some real ONO experiences. Disappointed by this latest switch and update
Not as described
Bought the Oahu Revealed book, which was great and totally worth it. The book then recommended this app for a modest fee ($11.99 per month is not modest in my book) to get up to date conditions at these tourist areas. I have not seen a single current condition or a place to navigate to in order to see such information. I will be asking for my money back.

Don’t bother
It doesn’t work. Period. The map feature just downloads an update every time I start the app. Meanwhile when it’s done there’s no data or info on the map. I tried to reach out to support, that feature doesn’t work either. I had to request a refund from Apple.
$30 per month?
I love the guidebooks, but $30 per month is insane. Is this a bug? I I did a test purchase to find out and go all the way to the confirmation screen to find out that it is indeed per month and not per year.
What a ripoff
$30 a month? Absolutely not. It used to be $30 a year. Won’t be purchasing.
Big downgrade
This app is a massive downgrade from Hawai’i Revealed. Extremely disappointing.

Th topics and points of interest that I am interested in are not included or found on this app such as Mauna Lani Auberge Resort or CanoeHouse restaurant.
Ripoff
I’ve bought many editions of the “Revealed” books over the years but now you get no information in the book about places to stay or restaurants. You have to use the app. Ok…but… to see MUCH of the content you have to pay for a “subscription” - monthly for one location or yearly for all. RIPOFF! I paid for the book - it doesn’t have the information you expect in a travel book but hey- just give me some more money and…. NEVER AGAIN!
New Version big ripoff
Loved this resource in years past and am returning to Maui again, so really believed I needed something up-to-the-minute updated as the island recovers from the tragic fires. Spent the $17.99 to renew. Now find to get to much of the content I need to upgrade for another $29.99 a year.

I pay annually for the Hawaii Revealed book but I have to pay again to use the new app. Furthermore the book does not seem to be up to date. Not happy!!!
What’s free??
Free version doesn’t seem to have any content that will actually load or open. The book is great but since it no longer has information on lodging, one is directed to get the free app. I just want hotel reviews. It’s just another way to get people to pay more money for what used to be included in the books.
Great but can’t read free hotel reviews
These guides are essential for a Hawaii gisit. But recently when I try to read the free hotel reviews, none of them will load, just a spinning loading screen. I hope they can get this sorted out.
Don’t Use
Very disappointed hard to use, each bit of information requires further payment. Most expensive and did not use! Luckily we had downloaded GuideAlong formerly GyPSy Guide which was very easy to use!
Beware
This is a scam. It’s basically a collection of useless ads for local businesses and attractions. And, I signed up for a one-time purchase, for one month, and it keeps renewing despite my attempts to cancel. Apple is no help resolving this either.
User Interface Design is poor
Want to find beaches on a map that you can snorkel in by your area? Look at the book. I tried multiple times to find this info and to ask how to do this and never could get to an email. Travel to Hawaii yearly and this actively detracts from the experience. And now with monthly charges instead of annual? Not good.
Doesn’t work without WiFi
App is not working on cellular data-even checked that it didn’t somehow come packaged with cellular toggled off (if doesn’t). I’ve tried multiple locations, all with excellent 5G cell service, and every other app works but not this one. Especially disappointing considering it’s already expensive (and wasn’t included with the book purchase), and now there’s zero incentive to buy a subscription or take a chance on a driving tour app. Deleted.
Update: Developer responded but instead of asking why the latest version of the app doesn’t work with 5G / sans WiFi (not in a remote spot so it ought to, like every other app out there), they advised unnecessarily downloading a lot of content and filling up my phone to access the whole package of information offline. Please just fix the app so it works with 5G instead of disagreeing with reported user experience. It appears to be a bug with this latest version.

The free app is useless
I own the book and it keeps telling to use the app. I downloaded the app but can’t access anything without upgrading. It said “try it for free”, yet that doesn’t go anywhere. Why have the free version at all? Disappointed and leaving for Oahu in three days.

When I searched for specific information about things we wanted to do the app didn’t give specific details like address, cost, how to access, etc….
Oahu cannot be selected on iPad
The formatting of the app for selecting the location will not allow me to select Oahu. It’s the last location on the list and there is no way to select it now that I bought the app. When I was using the free version I could select Oahu. Please fix this ASAP. It should be an easy fix. Oahu is the last location on the list in the app for iPhone and it allows me to select it. I wish it worked on the iPad. Thanks!
The jury is still out….
Initially had some problems but they seem to be okay now. Will have to wait until we actually use it on the islands and see how helpful it is. We’ll probably take along our books just in case….

Unimpressed with revised app
I purchased the original app several times, but I feel they have removed so much from the Where to Stay feature that using it is difficult and fairly useless. Bummer.
Need help with Hawaii Revealed
Hoping a developer can contact me. Tried to upgrade in the Hawaii revealed app, was charged but I couldn’t access the content and the feedback mechanism in that app says “unable to send feedback.” Can anyone help? Not sure how else to get a refund on that app.
waste of money for Oahu island
Very limited reviews for dining options on Oahu. Google maps with reviews is so much better. We had Maui island app some time ago and it’s very useful - Oahu not so much.
Waste of money
Not what I expected and not really helpful. I bought the book which was informative and hoped that the paid app would be a great tool for actual use while on island. Not an easy user experience, and no way to test out the paid version of the app prior to purchase. Seems poorly organized. I was also counting on the trail maps while off grid that the author mentions several times. Could not access them and was really without any guide or help in all the places we expected to have it. First hike we tried was even incorrectly described and left us doubting any of the other recommendations. Not worth the money or time to try and figure it out.
Good info but not user-friendly
The book is great, the driving app is fantastic, but I was disappointed in the app. I felt like I was spending way too much time trying to find things, and it was not at all intuitive. It’s very frustrating to be somewhere, whether the side of the road or the hotel room, looking for something you know You saw but can’t find it. I gave up after 3 days. Save your money. It’s not worth it
Great books, poor app
I’ve loved the Revealed books for 20 years, but I have to admit that the app loaded with similar information is a poor replacement.
Maps would be a useful feature, but only a very small number of reviewed locations are clickable. Even for those, they don’t show on the map until you zoom way in. The app clearly uses Apple/google maps, so why are only reviewed locations clickable? And why can’t I choose to view both beaches and sights?
I feel swindled out of $12. Thankfully, I remembered to cancel the subscription before it auto-renewed.

A travel planing app the never asks WHEN you want to travel
From the description I assumed that this app would help me fill in the holes in my Honolulu itinerary. So far, I am underwhelmed with that capability. It would be cool if the app tracked actual dates vs. Day 1 … Day n. That way if I added an event on a day that the venue was closed, the app could give me a warning note. It could also offer advice like “you have selected venue X on a Friday night. Consider YYY for a smaller crowd.” That’s the kind of context sensitive advice I need.
Logged me out and won’t let me log in again
Worked great for a couple of days after paying for it, then it logged me out and won’t let me log back in, so now I’ll pay twice for it using a different email address.
