Absolutely horrible.
The iOS version freezes up more than a naked Eskimo. This is true for both my iPhone, and my iPad, both of which are the latest. When it isn’t frozen, it is merely unresponsive. Don’t waste your money or your emotional well-being on this pile of garbage. The accuracy is a sadististical joke. Honestly, look elsewhere. This company doesn’t deserve to be in business.
Still no dark mode…
A decade later, another update later and still no native dark mode support and the app still has the iOS UI from a decade ago. Here’s for hoping the next release update…
Clunky app
I like that I can navigate a safe route and share routes. But this app is difficult to use and counterintuitive. It is hard to make it stop recording. It is hard to plan routes. It seems like it needs to be redesigned from the ground up. Now it is more difficult to use because pop-up upsell ads constantly appear and are hard to dismiss without accidentally subscribing. I find this app infuriating because i would really like an app that navigated bike routes. Google maps doesn’t always pick the safe roads. This app usually does but it is so incredibly clunky to use.
Not Intuitive
I’m trying hard to figure this out. But so many things don’t make sense. Just went on a long ride following a route but deviated assuming it was recording my path like other apps do. But nope.
Feature-bloated and strategically misaligned
Social features don’t just add complexity to the UI - they justify collecting data I never agreed to share when I subscribed for a navigation tool.

Downloaded to follow someone’s route for one evening and forgot to cancel the free trial and lost sixty bucks

The user interface is pretty much terrible button sizes are horrible. You’re riding your bike. You barely tap anything. The information display is confusing. It apparently has a time display that it’s easier to mistake for a time ridden altogether hard to use.

Forces you to create account
I just wanted to download a route my friend created. They force you to create an account and then sign you up automatically for EVERY email notification without asking. Just let me download a file, cmon, don’t go absolutely out of your way to piss me off and send me spam.

I canceled this before the trial period ended but was charged anyway. And conveniently for the app, the contact link via email within the app is broken. A disappointing experience.

I updated app and lost profile and all rides. What a mess
Starter pack should show navigation of GPX files uploaded
Before a ride, it let me save the gpx file our ride leaders provided. However, on the day of the ride, it won’t show navigation unless I upgrade starter pack.
No Value
I have subscribed to premium several times trying to give the app a fair shot. Each time the App has not functioned as designed. Today's example was an attempt to send a route from my Mac web based version to my iPhone. App confirms sent and despite multiple attempts it fails. I am logged in to same account on both. Each time I buy the premium I have wasted the money after being unable to have the app assist me on 500 mile to 1500 mile tours. Headed out on my next one after wasting another Elle $79 on this useless app.

If you are a roadie or new to an area, Ride with GPS is fine, but it has too many limitations for gravel, cross and mtb. Recommending garmin for those routes. Garmin has more trails and the freehand feature lets you make a route using real world experince instead of outdated GPS mapping. I've already found a summer full of new rides.
Not very reliable
If you are not already familiar with the roads in the area, this app likely will send you down dirt roads, wrong turns and busy roads you are not aware of. Seems like it could be a lot better.
Too complex
Offer a ‘lite’ version. Most of us do not have an IT degree because we did not want one.

Huge PITA to use. The worst part is it keeps telling me to get a paid account, but I already have a paid account.

Some roads shown on maps do in Vermont do not exist.

The audio queues break up and the screen doesn’t stay displayed. I have to touch the screen constant to keep it from going dark.
