Constant hassling for money
I signed up for the $0.99 for one month trial - great idea! But the app hassles me to sign up for longer every time I open it. The close ‘x’ is also at the top right of the screen, overlapping the time, meaning it takes multiple presses to actually close the ‘give us more money’ screen. Super annoying. Remind people once per day, fix the close button, or better still, remind me at the end of the month I have *already paid for.*

Worse, I canceled my membership and confirmed the cancellation, but was still charged anyway. other reviews warned about this and unfortunately, they were right. Unreliable AI plus billing after cancellation is unacceptable.

Steals money
I did the free trial, it worked fine as advertised but I never really used it so I decided it wasn’t for me and to cancel my trial. After i cancelled, it confirmed that my subscription was cancelled and my service would end that day, so I deleted the app and then after about 30min they charged my card $38. If you don’t want to pay $38 for this app don’t get it, don’t get the free trial, if you don’t mind the subscription go ahead, the app it’s self is fine just not something I used.

Needing to pay a subscription for an app to tell me how to sleep and wake up honestly feels absurd and unnecessary. There has to be a better app out there somewhere.

Inaccurate
Buy the Oura ring. This app does not work and is inaccurate. I was hopeful, but it just isn't picking up any of my waking through the night. It just told me I was still asleep while on my phone fml.
Not a real trial
I signed up for a 7 day trial to test it out. But it locks me out and insists on me purchasing either a one month or half price annual. Also $30 for an AI assistant is a joke when a $20 Claude or ChatGPT would easily achieve what the app and it’s AI will do
Took my money
I never subscribed to the app or anything like that and it just took $70 off my card which is wrong if someone doesn’t subscribe to it, you shouldn’t be taking money off of their accounts

Do not try their free trial unless you know you want to pay for the app. They still charged me even tho I cancelled the subscription.
Almost a great app
I did the free trial and liked it, but it wasn’t the time to buy a new app. I canceled the subscription like the second or third day of a 7 day free trial. I look at my bank statement, only to realize I’m being charged for the app I cancelled. This is why I don’t like doing free trials. I will re-review them, if they rectify my issue. I did like the app, but I don’t like the shady billing.

Horrible company and the app is not even that great. There is just to much nonsense going on with the app. Also they keep trying to charge me even after canceling my free trial. Scam artist!!!
HORRIBLE.
This app scammed me. Gave me a free trial, wouldn’t let me cancel. It charged me 70+ dollars. I needed that money to pay for my bills, my kids diapers, and more. Half my paycheck, gone. At the time it took my money, the app was deleted. This didn’t even help. I would give 0 stars if i could.
Predatory subscription
You have the option to pay for the full service after the trial ends, which is fantastic. But I cancelled my subscription days before my trial ended and was still charged. Here’s where they get you. It double subscribed me (in the App Store AND on the app) and I didn’t know. So I was charged the full amount for the year. I deleted the app because I wasn’t going to use it any more. Woke up this morning to a charge from RISE. Took me a bit to figure out my subscription was active in the app and not on my iCloud subscriptions. If you’re looking for just a free trial, be careful. You may end up paying for it after all

Do not get this app unless you want to spend 80 dollars they won’t refund.
Make sure you have an extra 80 in your account because they will charge you and give zero customer support to get your money back. I use my Apple Watch with the sleep app. Absolute scam.
Why isn’t DC a stop option?
I don’t have anything bad to say except, I just wanted an issue resolved. When it asks for your state, DC isn’t an option. We have more people who live here than the state of Wyoming and Vermont. Could you please correct?

They charged me over a month after canceling the app during the one week trial that I paid for. Disreputable company.
Numbers, not much insight.
If you want an app to quantify how tired you are and remind you several times a day, but not provide a whole lot of solution then use Rise. I’m sure it’s for someone, but if you work any sort of shift or rotating schedule job or even longer than maybe 4 set hours of work there’s no useful insight. It seems to be built for people who have non traditional or flexible work from home jobs or no jobs at all because felling me I’m entering a lull in my energy at 1:30 on a Tuesday, mid work day, isn’t actionable information. Apple Watch has built in sleep tracking, paying for extra is a waste of money. This app is expensive and feels a bit gimmicky.

I tried the Free trial and we were supposed to get confirmation before the subscription starts. Not only did not send a reminder and get confirmation, I can’t find in my subscription where I’m actually subscribed to cancel it and get a refund.

I signed up for a week trail and decided I didn’t want to use it so I canceled well before the renew date. I then received an email stating I had been charged 31 dollars to my account for 1 month access. The app has different costs for the same membership. It’s a total scam.

I liked the app and was on the fence about purchase but needed to remove some things and realized I CANNOT remove the app. The developer has manufactured it that the delete functionality is disabled which is infuriating- no one likes being taken hostage by an app

Scammy
I’ll start this by saying I never write reviews, ever. So if you are like me and often read the 1 star reviews before a purchase with a grain of salt let me assure you I am not just some guy that writes bad reviews because I like to complain. Unfortunately I did not read the reviews prior to this purchase since there was a few trial and at first I liked the service.
The normal app itself seems to work fine but their “AI expert” is nonsense and completely useless. I falsely believed it came with the plan but it’s actually a staggering $29.99/month up and above the app price.
When I reached out after canceling the AI feature for a refund since I would never have paid $30 for any AI had I seen a price tag, let alone one that straight up doesn’t work. I was told that and I quote, “Refunds are not available for monthly or annual subscriptions”
So they basically snuck this AI thing into my purchase, and then just refuse to refund me, I don’t understand who would do business like this. This is an underhanded company and the app isn’t worth dealing with those kinds of people.

It lies to you
I went through the assessment and realized I made an account years ago. I logged back into that account and it made me go through the assessment again. The first time it said my sleep need was 8 hrs and the second time it said 8.25 hrs using the same data from the past 28 days. The first time it also said my sleep debt was 5 hrs and the second it said 6 hrs. I think the app just puts random numbers to sell you into subscribing right off the bat.

Not able to cancel
When you accept the trial there is no active subscription in your playstore account to be able to cancel it before it renews. You can file a request to cancel and refund it in the app, but it does not refund you it just cancels the auto renew for next year. After you submit your request the form is locked and you cannot do anything else. The app itself is kinda pointless, just tracks your sleep which you can do yourself by just writing down the time you wake up and fall asleep
Good luck canceling
I cancelled my membership before the trial ended and they ignored the cancellation and still try to charge my card. Sent them an email about and no response yet

I don’t understand how this app can figure out when my best sleep is when it never even took the time to ask the hours I need to work… every time I’m supposed to feel an “energy dip” or “groggy” it was wayyy off, & I find it very confusing to navigate, don’t waste your money on this.

I’m so tired of apps requiring a subscription especially when they are just using data your IPhone already tracks and puts it in a different format.
Be careful of the “trial”
My wife and I were very interested in trying rise and it seemed to have some decent insights. She was offered a “month” trial for $2 and some change, a week later she was charged full price for the year! Not only did she not get the month to try it out but she also did not get the notification the app says it will give you. Shady business practices!
Took money from me
It took 74 dollars off of my card when I tried the free child didn’t like the app deleted it cancel my subscription and it took 74 dollars weeks later for no reason
Can't deal with night owls
I work nights as a Nurse. As a Nurse, I really need my sleep. 21 Million adults participate in some kind of night work. And Rise Sleep can't deal with people who work nights, so it's largely useless to me. When I contacted Support, their answer was, "Well your subscription runs out in awhile." 🤷🏻♂️

I like the app and the features but i can not find a app that tracks sleep for third shift workers, i wish this allowed you to edit your sleep and wake times and alarms for that.
