Don’t do it
I canceled my free membership before the trial was over. I was charged $59.99 anyway. I paid the full amount, and want my money back or access to what I paid for.

Absolute waste of money-no value
Did the trial and forgot to cancel (probably the only way they get people to join). On a 6 wk roadtrip I tried repeatedly to get some value from it but it gave nothing but garbage. The map view is the most godawful digital map leaving off city names and making road names/routes so tiny they can't easily be read. Find things near me--they gave me things at the other end of the country, and Alaska!!! Yeah that's nearby to Arkansas. Reviews for places are VERY old. A 2014 review is worthless in 2026. Camping suggestions were sketchy looking RV parks. Nothing about this app is friendly or useful. Don't waste your money.

Will charge you for trial subscription
I just wanted to have a look around in the app so i started a trial subscription after the app said it would not charge me until the trial ended. It charged me right away. So i looked around anyway and it doesn’t do what i need. For starters, you can’t give it a departure time.

Outdated

Never notified me of signing up, I have no profile, and you can’t find my account but I have been charged twice for premium membership

I purchased this app for one year. It signed me up for auto renewal. I didn’t catch it until my credit card bill came and they refuse to refund me. They can obviously see I haven’t used to app in two years yet they refuse to refund me. I hate companies that hold you hostage and unfortunately Roadtripper is one of them.

Very limited
Gives very limited options for places to visit, stay, or eat. I can honestly spend the extra 10 mins and do my own research. Not helpful.
Expecting stops along the entire route disappointed to say the least
As my route is across the country I was looking forward to this app leading me to every possible stop within my interests along the way. The app only gave me 4 attractions between Iowa & Florida. The service is unfortunately not worth 59.99 simply forgetting to end the trial period & the company refuses to refund. Traveler beware- great free information on multiple social media sites will make us memories. I wouldn’t recommend utilizing your any money here.
Must pay to use
Beware - You can download for free but have to pay subscription to truly use the app. Should be more upfront that you have to pay to do ANYTHING in the app beyond just having it on your device.

I tried to cancel and it showed like it went through. They tried to charge my card but I had it locked since I couldn’t find it. They processed the charge again when the card wasn’t locked and it went through. Without my authorization. Not worth it that’s why I was choosing to not renew my membership.
Not worth the money or hassle
Hassle to log into an old account. After getting logged in, received numerous “uh-oh!” error messages while trying to create a new trip. Then the app crashed - twice! - while I was trying to create said trip. THEN cancellation was another hassle - and it apparently HAS to be done through the app even though you’re told to go to the webpage. No thanks. This app is not worth the time or hassle…and it’s definitely not worth the money!

Awesome concept…but no action
Great concept but is the clunkiest app to use. Need a mapping interface with Google or Apple Maps. Can’t find places (state high points) easily. Have to draw down into location and then it’s hard to set as a waypoint. The AI feature is good until it repeats itself or suggests things within 5 miles of my house to stop at….seriously for a 3k trip I am going to stop after driving 5 miles. Suggests things way to far off normal path. Need to set main things first and than add easy side treks after. Not user friendly. Finding places to stay…what’s that? Finding places to eat…must not need to eat. Having better luck with AI apps than. This. I upgraded to premium. I wasted my money. I wish I could get a refund. Bad interaction (actually none existent) while actually doing the trip. Regret paying for this app.

When I had the app plan my road trip, it gave me McDonald's as one of the options to stop at (not for food but for an interesting place to see). McDonald's? Seriously. This app is a total rip off. DO NOT PAY FOR THIS APP! Complete SCAM!

Tried two trips, one cross country from CA to Pennsylvania and back. We used Google maps 99.9% of the time. This app did allow us to see tourist locations while we planned our but not sure it was worth the cost.
Bait and switch with membership
Great app to use but I’m not happy about the fees. The basic paid membership allows trips with up to 20 stops. I spent a week creating a 16 stop trip. Now they have locked it saying I need to upgrade to the premium membership and pay more money.

I am very angry. This app got deleted less than a minute after I downloaded it because it didn’t pass basic 3rd party security review. This cannot be trusted, as far as I can tell.
1 Star for the Idea
Great idea. But obviously whoever designed this App never actually went out and used it. Or did trials with the general public. A lot of potential. But mostly frustrating, useless and a waste of time.

I was about to buy premium but figured I’d give it the old search for dog friendly restaurants in my area. Or anywhere. Did you know that if you click “Restaurants” it’s says “Search in Restaurants” but when you click it, it doesn’t? It’s because the intern who coded this was having an off day. Such a basic feature and it’s simply not working. I’m so sick of these AI vibe coded slop apps. It’s clear that the people who made this don’t use it; they certainly don’t test it.

I paid for a subscription for years and it is still active. I use it 1-3 times a year for several years. I have used the app for 1 trip in the past year. The app will not let me plan a trip because it says I have reached my limit of trips. I am canceling my subscription because this is a ripoff. It used to be a good app.
Not Helpful - Avoid
Very poor functionality and cumbersome to use as a planning tool. A simple google search combined with Google Maps will yield the same results at no cost. And finding the unsubscribe button is like finding a needle in a haystack. Avoid this useless app.
Did something change??
Have been using this app for years! Paid subscription for years. Logged in tonight and am trying to add waypoints and then move them around in different order and the functionality seems to be gone now. What’s up?? This sucks. I am trying to route my own stops in order I want and it is not working. Please respond and fix and I’ll update this 1 star bc up till this issue it has been 5 stars for me
Did they give up?
There were so many places that I wanted to go see in New Orleans (that I discovered on google. But it wasn’t on Roadtrippers, so I entered the address. I got more and more upset each time I wanted to add a point and it wasn’t on the app! Too frustrated and I’m just going to use google.
Login unstable
This is a horrid app. Originally, the login was through Roadpass. That has now changed. I spent hours documenting my current trip and it has now disappeared. This is worthless for finding stops along the way. I have used it to document my trips so I can visualize and share them. Many times I cannot even find the places we’ve visited and have to create a custom stop to even document it. Not an app for planning, only very poor app for documenting

I used this app for years and went to show a friend my cross country trip that I had and wanted to show how cool the app was. However it is now a cash grab and locked me out of many memories because they want more money. Kinda bs, great app just unfortunate.
Would not refund
I canceled my subscription and a year later they still charged me the annual fee. I spoke with Liz on their customer support team and since I was a few days past their “grace period” they refused to give me my $59.99 even tho it’s their fault since I canceled my membership. I will never subscribe or download this app again. Beware as they will fraudulently charge your account. Terrible customer service.

While the app does have some handy features that other apps lack, but the non starter problem is the basic navigation doesn't just not work well to the point it can be dangerous. Driving a RV with height, weight and propane plus towing a car, the app has repeatably routed us off the interstate and onto side streets.
Aside from that there are some merely annoying features: No usable offline maps. Not able to put in a rest stop or fuel stop without making it a discreet trip, unable to use the app unless your device is connected to the internet. The map is peppered with highlighted attractions which distract for the map. The photos shown of stops look more like advertisements, besides being superfluous.

Premium is anything but…
I paid for this app, as it was recommended to help plan trips to determine time and fuel costs. I am making a trip I have done on multiple occasions, but doing it in a different manner. I will now be pulling a small trailer, there is no way to add this into a configuration. Even when I start over changing my vehicles MPG in effort to determine travel time and fuel costs; only the fuel costs amount changes, not the time. I decided to manually add a waypoints; I know I want to stop at actual rest stops, there are not any listed in the app - even when choosing “fuel and rest stops,” and filtering for “rest stops only.” Not sure what premium would be considered when there lacks basic features.
