When I'm in a battle and I close the game, when I log back in, my troops are fleeing with heavy losses or some have disappeared. This sometimes makes me lose battles. Terrible game.
Unplayable and Deeply Frustrating UI
I fundamentally don’t understand how the developers thought this was ready to publish. They managed to simultaneously add meaningless features that overcomplicate the campaign view while removing QoL improvements found on the original game. Battles are fought less against the AI and more against the unpredictable and devious machinations of the UI. Sometimes clicking selects the unit, sometimes it deselects, sometimes it moves the unit.
I am convinced the UI was built as a torture device for the CIA.

Not for phone
What a joke couldn’t even click and give directions. Screen is way to small and giving directions via attempting to zoom in and out is terrible and near impossible would like my $10 back

Annoyed with crashes
I don’t know what it is with this game but the further you get the more likely it is to crash. I’ll be selecting building upgrades on my forty towns and staffing the cities with peasants to stem uprisings and next the next thing I know the app crashes. I go back and re do everything I did (in a different order) that turn.. the app crashes again. Do i dare try a third time without manually saving after each village upgrade selection? It says it is sending crash logs, but i send a dozen crash logs a week and am not seeing any improvements. What’s going on here? This is a paid app, it’s not like this a free experience…

I used to play this game on an iPad 9, and wanted to play some more on my M2 iPad Pro. Then the game keeps loading but is not responsive to screen taps at all. Don’t bother with this version.
Update : Developer responded but only for the issues with data sync. While turning off iCloud helped (and I’m keeping it off, this isn’t important data that needs to be recovered), but the game still does not respond to any touch gestures. I was asked to go to click on get support on the main menu, but the game does not recognize I’m tapping it. Guess I’m never playing this again.

Nonfunctional
Recent update would crash and now I can open app but can’t load a game at all on iPad
Reinstalled and continually crashes after intro
Reinstalled game after not playing for a while. Crashes continually during start up. Sound does not work during intro. Currently unable to play after owning since it came out on iOS

Keeps crashing
Love the game . Had it on pc back in the day with all the disks and what not . However I’m in the middle of a campaign on my iPhone and each time I hit the same part the game crashes on me it’s happened 4 days in a row I can’t get past it . Why doesn’t it load me into the game
It got stuck in the loading files screen and I tried to delete and reinstall it over and over again a but it doesn’t fix it, please fix this 💔

Broken update
Please fix this last update. This has broken all my saves with the game which causes a crash whenever I try to open the bottom menu for the faction info. This update also broke the friendly units just refusing to move or running forever against the edges of the maps. Even friendly AI controlled units just running forever. I’ve had more crashing on this update in the last day than I have had in the last 7+ years playing this game combined. This has basically completely broken the game.
Stick to the PC
This title should have never been ported to a mobile device. The campaign map is passable, but the battles, absolutely atrocious with unit control.
Frustrating
Much more frustrating than PC version. Difficult to control units on battlefield. AI started universal and incessant uprisings in cities when I had conquered most of the Mediterranean…much much more so than in PC version. Unenjoyable experience.
