Why does it keep deleting my account!
In the span of one week rooster has deleted my account twice and every time they say oh our apologies here’s your account back, but all of my messages have been deleted. When I go to call Roomster customer service The automated voice tells me to call back during business hours which it explains are the hours that I’m calling at.

I never pay for apps, but I have been desperate in the roommate search. I paid for only one month, responded to one of the multiple messages, and immediately got banned before I could reply to any of the others. Tried to request a review, and it states I had “misconduct” and I wasn’t eligible for review! Don’t waste your time!

100% Scam top to bottom. Only 1/3 of the people on there even MIGHT be real. They charge you to use the MESSAGE feature. Trash. No idea what their angle is, but this is a scam.

Other apps allow communication for free. To me, having people pay for this basic functionality does not make sense.
Paid $20, tons of automated messages
It’s easier to convert religions than it is to find a roomate on this app. 99% of it is someone who already has a property prepositioning their house to you with constant messages and emails.

After posting my property for rent. The system said that I have 2 messages about my property ( as if I had 2 people interested) but the thing is that you can only see the messages if you pay for the subscription. After I paid there was no messages from anyone. I want my money back.

Not worth it
Charging people just to see messages from other people is the stupidest thing. Free to post your profile or your listing, but the second you post a phone number or social media it’s automatically censored. You force users to only use your app but you hide everything on the app behind a paywall? People deal enough with predatory landlords, give renters a break! This is an injustice to the people.
PSA - MUST BUY SUBSCRIPTION TO MESSAGE ON PLATFORM
App was a great idea. Aggregate rooms for rent. Yet the core aspect of renting, sending a message and viewing a received message, is locked behind a paywall - as of May 2026- minimum of $12 a week.
Useless app
The app asks me to enter phone number to login. The app then ask to validate email, but it says email already exist. Customer service say to log out, then log back in with your phone number, and then enter email address. Nothing changes. The app continues to say that email already exist. Customer support can solve the issue.
Technology issues but no support
It’s too much AI and no human support. I paid and payment is accepted, yet shows I’m inactive. I cannot send messages. I wait forever for chat support but I gave up numerous times. I hate this company. Get a live person. AI sucks. You already have my money
DONT PAY
The app makes you believe that you have messages as responses to your listing, requires you to pay to view them but it’s really messages from the “megaphone” feature that messages everyone even if they don’t remotely meet your criteria. Tried to reach out to support and was told because “I used the message feature” which I had not used since paying I couldn’t be refunded. Then the app froze up.

It is a scam and they will remove your account for reporting a scam. I just had a real person steal money from me and when I reported them and reposted my availability they deleted me. Anne Tinker and her daughter are not fake. They are just scammers. They will have you removed once you report them.

You have to pay to check inbox. Once you pay, all of the messages you think are directed at you or just generic “send all” messages not even in the area you are looking for. I rated the app 1 star and then they removed my account

Not so efficient
The app broadcast everyone to everyone. I think it plays subscription game of baiting you and connect with no one after the fact.

A lot of scammers are on there, so be careful. Once you give out your phone number, they can try to hack your accounts. I shared mine because talking in person usually feels more trustworthy than endless texting, but somehow they traced my Facebook and attempted to hack it.
The app itself also feels suspicious. After 10 messages, they block your mailbox, so you can’t properly read or reply to people. That defeats the whole purpose.
There are much better free apps out there, like Roomi, which feels far more legit and trustworthy.

$12 for JUST 7 DAYS of access to messages. Just use craigslist or facebook this is a scam.

If you’re gonna charge that much to be able to see messages. Might as well make it last a full month instead of 7 days . btw messages is afeature that should be free
The app banned me randomly
I had been using the app fine for some time in the past and started using it again over the past month. I was paying for the full access and then randomly I was banned. I’ve reached out to the support team twice and both times have been ignored. I don’t understand what happened and I have not been given any explanation beyond suspicious activity. App was filled with bots at first but at least it was something but now they just stole money from me for no reason.

This app took my 11.99 payment. I paid so i could respond to tenants on the app and as soon as I responded it deleted my account.
Received False Emails
First of all, you have to pay for a subscription to even connect with people. I didn’t pay for one at first because finding a roommate wasn’t guaranteed. Then I received emails stating I had messages waiting for me. I decided to pay for full access for a week to see the messages, only to then go into the app and for it to say I have no messages. So I was tricked into paying.
Greedy
If you want to be scammed into paying for a service that should be free or not expensive choose this app. They will delete your account if you try and use it free. Money hungry fiends feeding on people looking to rent out or rent somewhere to live.

I am still being charged for a service I’ve never received I am unable to remove this subscription and none will assist I keep getting the run around so they can keep charging me do not trust this site especially some these reviews that say nice things about . The experience and level of contacting some one is soo poor

It’s almost impossible to set up a full profile. You work on it for 30 min then press save and it all disappears. That’s one. The other thing is they have bots to seemingly send you inquiries so you would pay for the app to read the messages - not even 1 real message!

This company/app is scammer/fake/fraudulent and should be shut down! I gave them a solid 4+ months and 99.999% of messages to my inbox have nothing to do with what I need. It's literally crazy and waste of time.

I am a man, live in brickell, and have a property advertised for $2750
99.999% are messages with $500 budget, female only wanting to live with females, looking for a place an hour away ... not brickell...
Then, their website and app are super clunky so it takes a lot of time to filter out all of that garbage!
Then, they charge you in the meantime! I'm going to file a lawsuit for this fraud!

I paid for the message box subscription for a week because I got a message. But it was only scam. I didn’t lose any money because a tour is a must before any kind of money was exchanged, but I feel ripped off by Roomster’s greedy subscription fee. Not worth it!
