Terrible Implementation
First, it sucks that they make you pay for access to their ‘map’. Second when you do get access to the map, there are very little good places, it’s mostly just places to avoid going. I know that is not up to them, but still. Also there have been several instances of mid reporting, places that do have seeds oil and they say didn’t.

App that scam charges you & runs only off user data
This app is terrible. I’m not sure where all these positive reviews came from. It’s false, don’t buy into it. The app is run entirely off User data and input, so if you’re not in a populated area it’s completely useless because it doesn’t have any information on the restaurants near you unless people input it. The fact that it’s also limited by a paywall makes it worse.
This app also scams you. It prompts you to enable a free trial to test out the app for 3 days and you can “cancel at anytime” however when you cancel it charges you for the year. So no, you can’t cancel at anytime and it isn’t a free trial. This is lawsuit worthy.

Not worth paying for
I love the app but let’s be honest it should not cost money to use it no point I would rather use chat gtp
I have an active subscription and I absolutely cannot get to the map
I have done everything I can to get this app to work. It used to be awesome, but I absolutely cannot get to the map no matter what I do. I have emailed customer service multiple times with zero response. Yes, I have an active subscription. I even tried renewing the subscription to see if that would get the map to activate and it still takes me back to the option of the free trial. Disappointed and done.
Misleading Subscription
Upon downloading I was offered a 3-Day Free trial and then a $24.99 annual membership fee so I opted into to trial, cancelled within 1 day as I wasn’t quite sold on the app and after the third day was still charged the $24.99 annual fee. Very misleading.

Such a good concept for an app but uses Ai for information. Doesn’t matter if the Ai thing is optional. Even downloading this app boosts the use of ai because it’s still data that is being put into it. Stop using ai

I decided to try an app using its 3-day free trial. Before the trial expired, I canceled my subscription; however, I was still charged for an annual subscription. I’m unable to get in touch with anyone from their team-there’s no email, phone number, or any other contact information available.
Warning
Apps with initial setup like this are so deceiving. You have to go through and submit your email/age/gender and answer lots of questions about your food preferences and then it won’t even let you look at the app without signing up for their free trial and agreeing to be charged. Just a marketing ploy-don’t even care to try the app now. Do better.

Fraud app, asked me 30 questions in the beginning and then wants payment. Avoid.

The app asked me all sorts of questions about my health and diet, even asking if I was interested in raw milk? (EW!) yet I get to the end and you force me to sign up for a “free trial”? What a shame.

They said it was free but no they want you to pay for using it. I don’t see spending money just to find restaurants that are healthy. Just let people look for free.
Bad experience
I was charged even after I canceled the app before the trial ended. I reached out to Apple and explained the situation and the denied my refund. When I contacted SOS they said they couldn’t do anything about it and that it’s up to Apple.
Can’t even try the app without an in-app purchase
My experience was that the app asked a bunch of survey questions to me, presumably harvesting my data to resell, and then didn’t give me access to anything until I subscribed in a popup dialog. If you ask me 10+ pages of survey questions and then don’t even let me try the app I am immediately losing trust for your brand and uninstalling the app.
Seed Oil Scout mostly takes and does not give, then overcharges
The app demands that users fill their questionnaire before the dirty reveal that the app is NOT free and accepting the trial will bind the user to auto-pay debt. They first take info from users before their sales pitch.

Losing faith in this app
I have been one of the original members of this app, contacted restaurants, submitted reports, etc etc. My subscription just renewed and I look to see that I am paying MORE than the current subscription price. I have been reaching out for weeks trying to get this fixed but customer support has not responded back to any of my multiple emails.
Not sure how this has 5 stars by so many
The first 5 things I scanned, it knew 4 of them, showed one, 3 others were just gray screens. I tried to scan something else and it just went into gimbal lock, I went to update that one once it finished and had 0 information and the pictures just errored out. I hear their adds bag on Yuka all the time but I’ve used it for 2 years and had 0 issues. This one I had for 10 minutes and had one success. This app is a waste of money glad I cancelled after the first 20 minutes.

Why does this app cost money lol. Good idea but not worth it especially because it’s only good for city’s. And once you find your non seed oil spot in the city there’s no need to pay for the app anymore. Should be free

No free option at all, just a 3 day free trial before a mandatory paid subscription. All after doing a ton of setup. SMH
Great idea / bad business model
I’d really love to try this app out, but I am unwilling to sign up for a paid version that I have to cancel after I try it. Network effect is a powerful tool in the freemium space. Look at apps like Strava as examples of companies collecting meaningful data from users on the free version while offering premium components to subscribers. In this case, the developer is hiding everything behind a paywall in a manner that would make it difficult or impossible for non-paying users to contribute valuable information to others. Furthermore, the “free” trial is listed in the App Store as 7 days but only 3 days within the app and you have to cancel 24 hours before the billing would start on the third day… and there’s no obvious way to try the free version without first agreeing to pay. No thank you. I don’t like to be scammed and I don’t like to work with companies that don’t put customer value first. Not understanding the value of network effect will likely make the benefit of this application short-lived. Hopefully the developer will realize this quickly and make a change. If not someone else will come and eat their seed oil free lunch.

Charged me even though I canceled. I was on a free trial but I had my wife download it. So we both didn’t need it so I canceled and they took my money anyway. I have screen shots of canceling. Because I am use to shady companies doing this stuff.

Probably great in a big city
I’m sure this app is full of great information if you live in a major city. It’s useless if you live pretty rural like I do.
The nearest restaurant that it even had any rating for was over 100 miles away.
I realize it’s crowdsourced data but I’m not going to pay for a subscription so I can go farm the data for them.

Terrible app
I love the idea of the app but like most it try’s to trap you in a free trial and then if you decide you don’t want the free trial there is no way to escape the pop up for it it doesn’t matter how many times you refresh the app it’s honestly ridiculous I have to pay for an app to better my health especially when their intro is ragging on how terrible the seed oils have got in our daily diets

If your app isn’t free to use just say so in the beginning. Wasted a good 10 minutes of my time filling out preferences and answering questions just to find out they charge monthly.
Whole Map fidgets around
The whole map fidgets around and I can’t keep it still. I can’t even look at what’s around me without the map switching to a whole different part of the city. Even when I wasn’t on the map and looking at the list it was fidgeting around like crazy to different parts of the city every 2 seconds.

Charged additional year
Unfortunately I didn’t find this app very useful as most every restaurant I ever searched was not seed oil free. Consequently, I cancelled my subscription on the last day I could. I was still charged $34.99 for the subsequent year, and received zero response from my email when I asked why I had been charged for another year.

Purposely Misleading
The app offers you a “3 day trial,” but charges you anyways for the entire year. This is purposefully misleading and you can’t even contact support because their webpage pulls up an error.

I loved this app so I can find restaurants and stores locally with good ingredients. I am annoyed because they added a subscription fee for the app. It used to be free and now it’s not. I understand everything costs money. Change it to a one time.

I downloaded this app thinking I was going to get precise information about seed oils and local eats the app is very underdeveloped an they try to make u pay for something that should be free. Why is it acceptable to pay 20 dollars just to find safe food to eat I see it as a total SCAM and everyone should be boycotting this app off the AppStore!!!

Signed up for the free trial after receiving their email. When I tried to sign in, my email “wasn’t working” and I spent about 5 minutes troubleshooting before giving up. While still in the free trial period, I replied to their email asking them to cancel my subscription. The following week I was charged anyway.
Also, their pricing/discount messaging didn’t add up. The email claimed a “50% discount,” but based on what I was charged versus the listed normal price, it worked out to roughly a 12% discount, not 50%. I tried to get it cancelled/refunded and it didn’t work, so I’m disputing the charge with my credit card. This experience felt deceptive and frustrating… use caution.

Greedy developers, monetizing health
Like another person said, this app charges you a subscription in order to use it now- I believe it used to be free- this goes against the whole movement of trying to remove seed oils from our food supply. It’s greed and money that did this to begin with, now these developers are monetizing people who are trying to find healthy places to eat. What a shame…
