Be very careful with the subscription
I had an unfortunate experience with the subscription renewal.
I forgot to cancel before the renewal date and was charged automatically. I understand this is part of the terms, but what disappointed me is that the company refused to offer any refund, even though I contacted them shortly after the charge and did not use the service during the renewed period.
I tried reaching out to support and even requested a case review, but the response was still a firm no-refund.
Just a heads-up for others: make sure to cancel well in advance if you don’t plan to continue, because once you’re charged, it’s very difficult to get your money back.

For YEARS you have failed to fix your notification badges in iOS. You appear to just not GAF.

Unusable
There are much better research and screener apps out there. This one absolutely does not work on IOS 18. It consumes 100% of the CPU and if you’re lucky the Trending Analysis section will load after a couple of minutes. Not so much for all of the other tabs. Those are simply a gray screen while the app turns your phone into a hand warmer. The website on an iPhone using Chrome, Firefox, Brave, and Safari is not much better (if you can get past all of the login errors). Eventually something might load but not before your phone overheats.

I’m not sure why but whenever I’m updating my port and I have to type anything in there is a lag of about 10 seconds every time I press a letter or number. I have to sit for 45 seconds to type out a triple digit number…

Can’t link accounts for days and it’s not getting fixed. Tech support has not helped at all.
STOLE MY MONEY
SCAM. BEWARE OF SEEKING ALPHA APP IS A SUPER MEGA SCAM. I want a refund !! Immediately after paying for the subscription the app started running SUPER SLOW. Now it doesn’t ever load, the news page blank, doesn’t load, same with portfolio and analysis.
Censorship - AI Analysis
I will look forward to cancelling my subscription. I’ve been permanently censored and can no longer post any comments without a warning and censorship. I pointed out the fact than an author had numerous technical errors in their article and much of the information was AI generated. Since then Seeking Alpha has permanently banned my account from posting any comments or questions to the various authors. This makes a crowdsourcing financial website useless. I will be canceling my subscription.
Even after 6 months, I’m still shadow banned from posting anything. A normal website would give a warning or provide a path to recovery. However, customer service is non existent and they do not respond.

Price alerts no longer work
Price alerts no longer work after the latest update. It’s also not possible to contact SA support. If it isn’t fixed in a few days I’ll cancel my premium sub and file for fraud with my CC because the product isn’t working. What makes it worse is they don’t allow you to contact SA support, their FAQ section is garbage.
Greedy company & sarcastic attitude from support
Seeking Alpha’s aggressive implementation of high cost subscriptions is indicative of a greedy company taking advantage of an established customer base which will drive them to seek alternative services. Our 2024-25 seeking Alpha Premium and Alpha Picks subscriptions have been a usability nightmare after updating the SA App that rendered it unusable for several months.

This app was great in the past. It has so many ads now it’s almost not usable unless you upgrade to premium.
Customer service won’t respond
Sent a cancellation request per their policy. Got an initial response, then they ghosted me. Even opened a new ticket and nothing. Looked them up in BBB and they have a rating of around 1 out of 5. Their tools aren’t nearly as good as competitors. Use Tipranks instead!
What doesn’t work
I enjoy SA and have subscribed to several authors and follow a few more. My problem, and SA has not helped me solve it, is that I frequently can not open a notification, and sometimes an email on my iPhone 14. This is incredibly frustrating. Sometimes in frustration I delete the app and re-install, but that wiped out the notifications. I continue to use them, but at least one author has moved to Discord and I follow him there.
Disorganized
Unable to either sign in or create a new account. App says will send an email to me as a link. Never received. A mess and losing customers because of this.
They advertise on their Home Screen app icon
Been a subscriber for year and the content is top notch. However, they have turned their icon, on my Home Screen, into an advertisement for a Black Friday Sale. This is unacceptable. There is no option to change the icon. I do not want my Home Screen to turn into opportunistic advertisements. This is not putting your paying customer first.

Seeking Alpha Overrated and Overpriced
Around 10 years ago, Seeking Alpha was free. It was much a better source of information at that time because there weee so, so many contributors and sources to draw all kinds of information from. I spent a great deal of my free time communicating with numerous people, on all sorts of topics that affected my trading habits and knowledge on so, so many topics.
I find Serking Alpha today to be just another money making App and not nearly as beneficial as it once was. Sorry Seeking Aloha, but there are much better places to get the knowledge I need and many are free to use and as good or better, than Seeking Alpha, once was.

This is perhaps the worst financial app ever created

Annoying alerts and messages that you have to click and close each time with a X to see the market indicators. Especially for premium members. No insider activity info. Alpha picks are terrible.
Technology needs help
Difficult to change passwords. Technology not highly refined. Needs to be more flexible.
Too many paid influencers!
I’ve been on SA for 10 years. In that time it’s become unusable. Take articles about Tesla for instance. If someone says something positive about the company or CEO they get attacked by influencers paid by the gas car industry.
How do I know this? They’re all over YT, TikTok and Discord bragging about it! I and others have been called every name in the book and Seeking Alpha allows it.

Not user friendly
Most of the breaking news never make it to this app and if they do they are buried in deep. There is no easy way to access an IPO calendar etc. Time to move on from this app.

Ok service, but after cancelling service they still charged my credit card $299. Had to dispute charges with credit card company and still unresolved because Seeking Alpha is fighting the dispute. Corporate leeches impossible to get off your credit card. Do not get a subscription!

Today (08/13/25) Update does not open the app properly from links in daily email updates. Launches but stuck on a blank screen.
Frequent subscription attempts make the app unusable
The push of their subscription is desperate. 1. each portfolio has a big subscription header; 2. app opens with subscription page; 3. almost all articles behind paywall; 4. subscription attempts pops up every 2-3 clicks. The app is worst than a webpage game, unusable now.
No longer functional due to continuous advertising
This used to be an excellent app for tracking your portfolio and setting price alerts. Unfortunately, an update earlier this year changed their promotion settings so that a full screen popup advertising their premium services will take over your screen every two or three clicks. And instead of just caching their popup, it seems to require a fresh new download every time, making the app just plain unusable if your WiFi is slow. It also used to be possible to save a preferred default view for your portfolio. Now, it’s still possible to save that preferred setting, but it no longer displays that way by default. So, click once to try to see your portfolio, get lagged by their obnoxious popup, click again to change the view settings to what used to be your default, get lagged by their obnoxious popup again, start scrolling through your portfolio to see what’s up and down, get lagged by their obnoxious popup again, click on one of your holdings to see more info about the stock, get lagged by their obnoxious popup again . . .
You get the idea. I actually *had* subscribed to some of the analysts on the app before, but now I’m just looking for alternatives to view my portfolio from now on. Maybe TipRanks?

Really bad and only getting worse
Your app spams me with ads at every chance. Basically everything is paywalled now. It often fails to load and must be restarted. Your in-app search is slow and laggy.

Overpriced
For a $300 fee the premium version of the app is an absolute waste. There’s nothing on here that you can’t find for free on google and almost all of the content written is recycled and hardly anything original.
Have had a premium annual subscription since March and now I can’t log into my account.
I paid for an annual subscription in March through my Apple ID. For some reason (either firmware or app software update) I no longer have access to my premium account. I requested assistance from seeking alpha support and they can’t find any account information for me. I have 9 months of my subscription left that I paid for that I can’t use. Please refund my money.
Pop ups on every screen
Now all of a sudden there is pop up to subscribe on every single screen. It drives me absolutely crazy and now I have to consider other options for tracking my watch list. Such a shame…

It’s tiresome and worthless. SA doesn’t seem to moderate at all or enforce their community to stay on topic which is now a devolved silo of hate.
I’ll find another financial platform that focuses on the markets not hating on political opinions and views.

Currently unusable
Normally, seeking alpha is a great research tool. I haven’t been able to use it in the last few weeks though. The app has gotten so slow and buggy that it is currently unusable, as it’s not possible to open any articles, access any of your portfolios, manage subscriptions, etc. The app is so slow you literally cannot do anything on it. Tried to uninstall and reinstall the app with no effect. Something for the developer to work on.

If you want a one sided view of something as important as the economy - this is for you. but if you want a balanced view from both sides look elsewhere.
The site goes out of its way to block any conservative views or thinking. This leaves its viewpoints in both the comments and the articles , unbalanced and inconsistent . In something as important as the stock market you need balance you need to know what's coming and often viewpoints in the comments section is the truest indicator. Algo blocking and censorship numbs the conversation and that is detrimental to the information you need.
This isn't supposed to be a playtime forum, but an information gathering quest, when it comes to your money you want the full picture no matter what side of politics you land on . SA is like painting a picture of the world economy with only half the colors at your disposal . That's never going to be a quality picture .

Fix the basics
For an app generating such large cash flows, the technical quality is disappointing:
- the top menu with the search icon keeps disappearing after going into background and going back to the app
- the market summary as a thin strip on the top of the home page is extremely impractical: go back to the table format and make it customizable
- dividends data are incomplete (no NAVs for funds and BDCs? no history for PBR? payout ratios missing in many dividend paying stocks): you need a separate app to manage a dividend portfolio
- lacks coverage of at least major international markets

No data on open
The current app is not working. I get no data for my portfolios upon launching the app. After many attempts it sometimes will start working, but more often than not I give up first.
