I was targeted on social media with these videos and purchased the VIP weekly subscription to finish watching the video that I had started. I then went to my Apple account to cancel the recurring subscription.
Unfortunately, I have continued to be charged. I have emailed ShortMax multiple times and been assured that my subscription was being canceled and my money refunded. I received the one time refund, but I’m continuing to be charged every week. I finally had to call my credit card fraud department and have the merchant blocked to stop the payments.
So, while the stories are good, buyer beware when it comes to the recurring subscription.

I signed up for the one-week subscription, but cancelled because I lost interest and didn’t enjoy the stories. I believed my subscription had been successfully cancelled, yet I continued to be charged afterwards. What is even more frustrating is that I can’t access the account to verify or cancel anything because it says my account “doesn’t exist.” I’ve tried every email address I have with no luck, which leaves me with no way to stop the charges or understand how my payment information is still being used. At this point I had to cancel my bank account and get a new one. My experience has been extremely disappointing, and I would strongly caution others to double-check any subscription or billing details before signing up.
Stop charging me
I have already sent a email out to cancel the subscription since there is no way to do it on the app and they keep charging my card. They even charged it three times in the span of two weeks. I don’t even use the app.
Rip off
AI videos that repeat portions already seen into the next episode so you’re paying twice for the same material. The company also won’t help you unsubscribe. The FAQs aren’t accurate for unsubscribing, when you email they won’t assist you either. Completely shady.
No cancellation
Won’t let me cancel my subscription via app and it is not a subscription under my Apple ID. I had to email to cancel after they kept charging me. App also says no refunds, so they will not let you cancel & they won’t give you refunds.

I’ve been contacting customer service for months now about canceling my subscription and there’s no where to do this. It doesn’t exist and these people won’t email me back because obviously they don’t have a phone to talk to a real person. Don’t purchase.

Feels like a scam!
It’s very rare that if I leave a review it’s a negative one, but this one definitely deserves it. I paid for the week subscription and despite paying I have no access to the shorts and it wants me to pay again then I have to wait until the charge has completed through Apple to even attempt a refund. I would have given zero stars if I could, because I don’t appreciate my money being stolen and I don’t think anyone else does either.

I used this app for one day on a free trial and then cancelled immediately after. I also deleted my account just in case. I’ve since been charged 5 times for a service I no longer use. When I looked it up, I found I wasn’t the only one.

Absolutely Ridiculous
I subscribed to their weekly premium plan and now I am completely unable to cancel. I even disabled them on my apple wallets, but they are STILL charging me.

FRAUDULENT APP
Don’t pay for a subscription on this app!! If you unsubscribe it will keep charging you forever. I canceled my subscription weeks ago. The ShortMax app and the App Store says my subscription is inactive, but I am getting charged $19.99 weekly. My bank said they have receieved hundred of fraud claims for this company this month.

I have contacted both my attorney and my bank. You intentionally do not send a receipt or follow other normal business protocols. Yesterday I searched over an hour to find a way to cancel this subscription and you’ve made it impossible. None of the normal methods work because that is your devious way of making it impossible so you can continue charging me. CANCEL MY SUBSCRIPTION or I promise to avail myself of all legal options to stop being scammed by your company! This is ILLEGAL and you are a SCAM company! i purchased a few weeks and cancelled my subscription. It was cancelled and then it reappeared and continued to bill my card. I disputed it and they agreed. It then started up despite having no subscription. It is a scam company. Beware.

I have downloaded and subscribed for a week on this app via apple to just try it out of curiosity. Then i tried to unsubscribe through the app but there is no option. Followed their instruction according to faq, only to realized it was not on my apple subscription list. I was charged on the 2nd week for subscription since i had a hard time finding on how to freakin unsubscribe, it is nowhere to be found! Now i am going back and forth with customer service help unsubscribe or i’ll have to go through my bank and report if its not fixed. Unsubscribing shouldnt be difficult!

This company scams to take peoples money! If you sign up for a membership there is no way to delete it! It doesn’t show up in your apple subscriptions to cancel and if you try to submit a cancellation through the website it always says account not found and if you try to email them no one responds ever! The only way I got them to stop charging my card multiple times a day was to call my bank and have them change my account number and card and they put it as fraud! STAY AWAY!

I paid for a subscription two times. Never got it. I didn’t try to pay for it two times. I didn’t receive it the first time so I figured my payment didn’t go through. But it did not end up getting charged $30. And I did not get a sub subscription and I still don’t have one. It’s a scam. Or they should update their system so it’s not like people are getting scammed. But outside of them scamming it’s a pretty good app. I mean I did like it until they scammed me.

i’ve used this seevice for a while, no issues. i’ve gotten to a point where i can’t justify paying for it snymore, and i’ve tried so many times to cancel but to no avail. i’ve contacted customer support and they just send the same email over and over and nothing changes. i’m going to have to dispute with my bank since i have not been able to cancel it myself via web nor through anything else.

Good Stories. Expensive.
The stories were good. The cost to watch the short dramas is ridiculously expensive. Even so I was willing to pay for a weekly subscription to finish the story I was in. Unfortunately, canceling that subscription was not easy. There is no in app cancellation option. Despite the instructions from the app, you could not cancel via your Apple ID. I ended up having to email them and denying a charge of my credit card for the reoccurring subscription.

I contacted support FIVE separate times trying to cancel my subscription. The subscription doesn’t show up in your apple account at all. The app itself has misleading language. No simple option to end your subscription, and even after deleting the account the app still tries to charge you.

It didn’t give me my coins for following all their platforms and connecting my Google and face book I got 60 coins out of the over 200 and I was in episode 17 until I left the app and it brought me all the way back to the Beginning and locked all the episodes I already watched and payed for so what’s the point if the app is just one big scam and this isn’t the first time the app has done this I deleted it previously because of this issue

I’ve tried to cancel a subscription at least 10 times. Start off seeming helpful, then keeps asking me to send my account info over and over with no result. Keeps saying they can’t find it even though I’ve sent screenshots of my account with the charges that I told them to cancel so many times!!! Don’t use them!

Horrible Experience
Short Max keeps charging me $19.99 a week even after I deleted my account and cancelled my subscription with them. I emailed them, and they refuse to respond. Unless they miraculously respond through here, I am considering pursuing legal action.

Do not purchase a subscription. They bill more than they should. Then you do not get what you paid for. After purchasing a subscription i could not watch the videos because they did not unlock the chapters. I do not think they speak English or understand English. When trying to speak with their ultimately poor customer service., they listed several things to do. Most of which had nothing to do with fixing the issue. Still i took screenshots of their app with my user id #, listed my emails, phone number, provided screenshots of bank statements ad well as proof of subscription and yet they couldn’t figure it out. They then proceeded to ask for information that i already supplied both in email and screen shots. After trying to straighten this out for three days., ive come to the decision they are fraudulent. So i cancelled my subscription and filed a fraudulent report with my bank.

Yes, the shows are good… However, customer service stinks. It took me three months to finally reach somebody to cancel, even after I deleted my account and followed all procedures. It took an email, threatening legal action to get a response. This is the only app I’ve had any issue with. Go somewhere else to watch cheesy short form, smut stories.
