I bought the gold version and used it on the web, so I know it registered. At some point in time I noticed that the app was saying I could buy the gold version. I contacted the developer from the “Contact Us” page on his website on 4/16 (it’s 5/7 today) and didn’t hear anything back. I sent another contact today. If the developer responds to me I will update this review. Until this is resolved, be VERY careful.

Disappointed
I have been a faithful customer of SimplyAuto app. I upgraded to the top-of-the-line membership about over a year ago. I’ve been using the app for about 5 years. I have dropped my phone at Dillon Reservoir on a fishing trip, I got a new phone couldn’t download all my information and I went and reached out to SimplyAuto and I’ve never gotten a response and I have reached out to them 5-6 times I use this app for record keeping and reminders of maintenance that are coming due on all my 8 vehicles and ever since I have upgraded to the platinum version I have never ever heard from them very disappointed what a waste of money and all the time of putting in my information for nothing.

What happened to my pro version?
I paid for the pro version of simply auto and have been using it for a (long) number of years. While logging my last fill up earlier this week, I was bombarded by pops and annoying ads. My paid version has disappeared and I’ve gotten no response from support.

App is buggy. Most of my time is spent manually inputting SOMETHING 😡. No longer working is IOS 18. Before the app hadn’t been updated in 2 years.

Is this app being maintained anymore? I’ve been using it for years and it no longer works with iOS 18. I can’t download the existing data and the website can’t be found. If not I need to find another app to use to track vehicle expenses.
EXCESSIVE ads, no cross purchase support
I bought the app on Android years ago. I switched to an iphone and was able to restore my data which was nice, but I wasn't able to transfer my purchase. The app doesn't do anything special to justify the pricetag, and your reward for not buying it is insanely intrusive ads. Like, why show an intersital ad after I enter a fill up? You really want people to sit through a 15-30 second ad while they are sitting at a gas pump, be reasonable. Im just trying to enter my mpg and track expenses, not get a 30 second ad for a space invaders knock off.
Poor customer service
I stumbled into this app last year. Thought it would be a good replacement to complete migration from android. I have messaged devs monthly trying to get assistance. NEVER a response. I’ve followed their instructions that simply do not work. If you’re NOT going to offer support then stop charging for the app.

Improper Mileage tracking
I have already tried to email the support email without response for weeks. I bought the highest package for mileage tracking and have constant errors with it. Try to edit the info and it will not accept edits or stops tracking or resets the odometer to 0 and starts over - it’s a mess. It’s never ending. The report is not hal-detailed enough to use for taxes.
Simply Auto review
Only one star due to the fact the app locked up after I deleted one vehicle from it and then I lost all the information on the two remaining vehicles. It was a great app till this happened. Now I have to start all over. I have tried several times to find my information to no avail. If not for this I would have given it five stars.
DON’T BOTHER DOWNLOADING
I paid a year subscription and it NEVER tracks correctly, NEVER automatically starts, I have to ALWAYS manually enter “everything” when some should automatically calculate, even though my settings are set correctly so it’s not the operator. I have emailed them 4x and NEVER replied to date after 2 months. This app is a complete JOKE!!
Charts don’t work
I’ve been a Gold user for years but a few years ago the charts stopped working. No way to analyze all of the data entered.

Lost 3 years of data
App lost 3 years of data as the google drive backup failed starting in 2019. Went to sell my vehicle and the years of detailed service history was gone, costing me a sale. No response from the developers for over a week (and counting). No need to respond now, I’ve deleted the app entirely and not looking back.
Wish I didn't get started with it or paid for it
Then interface is medicore BUT what's worse it IS. FULL of data entry bugs, too many to list. Stuck with it for now until I find time to switch over the data. I recommend against this app, you will regret it eventually.
Poor customer service!!
The app works well if you are one driver, with one vehicle, on one device. I paid for the platinum version for multiple vehicles with multiple drivers, and am unable to get any reports from them. Sometimes some data syncs, other times none does. I have emailed a couple times and get no response.

I used this app for about a year and really liked it then after upgrading to IOS 15.6 on my iPhone 11 it stopped working. Have reached out for assistance multiple times and never got a response. I was using the free version but was about to upgrade to gold when I started having issues.

The data entry forms and especially any plots/analytics (such as mpg over time) that older Android versions of this app nicely provided are badly buggy or don’t work at all.
I may stick with this app for 2026 or find a replacement. The basic challenge is that most competitors offer mpg plus a lot of maintenance-related cruft I don’t need, but not business miles - or business miles plus a lot of expense management cruft I don’t need, but not mpg tracking. Only a Fair app
Does not calculate total cost correctly for gas fill up? Constantly need to overwrite that price! Searching for gas there are vacant results for as long as 150 miles spread!
Google blocks access to Drive backup/restore
Manual backup/restore to Google Drive no longer works because of security requirements Google put in place in January 2025. With no current development for the app, this is very unlikely to be fixed. Time to find another app.
Little support
I like the function and features of the app, but there haven’t been any software updates in a few years. With iOS 18, it frequently refuses to open or opens and the crashes.

Crashes make sure you save after every entry
I got the pro version and have multiple cars on it. The app works great when it’s not crashing. The problem is at times, the app will crash. If you don’t resync you will automatically lose all of your data since the app won’t reopen. You have to delete and reinstall.
Then after you reinstall and resync what you saved, some entries will still be missing which is very frustrating.
Also here a bonus tip: if you upload copies of your invoices into the app, on every resync the upload time gets longer and longer until one day the app will crash. Not sure why it reuploads invoices you’ve already saved but I stopped doing it

Is this app still supported?
Have had this app for YEARS, have not had any issues until after updating my phone to iOS 18. Now when I open the app, it just freezes on the home screen. I thought maybe it was bad signal when I was at the pump, but I get the same thing even at home on Wi-Fi. Can’t even use it anymore because it’s frozen and unresponsive. Can’t log anything, can’t look at upcoming maintenance schedules, can’t do squat. Very disappointed in the devs for not keeping this app going.

Switch from Droid to iPhone and not correct software
I reached out to vendor multiple times with proof of purchase and cannot get a response. Love the product just wished to use a licensed copy on my iPhone as I have on my Samsung for many years.
Run away
Even though I paid for this app and have had it for many years I would not get it again. All of its great features are negated by the stupid pop up ads that cannot be stopped except to completely exit the app. Don’t get it I PSID for the app I do not expect to be harassed by ads.
Paid version and STILL getting full screen ads.
Worse, I wasn’t able to exit the ad. I had to actually close the entire app as there was no way to exit the ad definitely time to start looking for a different app.
iOS support
UI looks very nice, logging and information display are very good. I tried creating an account with Apple ID (option to hide my default address) so that the webui and sync would be enabled. I thought maybe making a purchase would allow me to link apple account. I have sent two support request (email) and they have been unanswered. I also noticed that Android apps is being updated more frequently, iOS last update was 1yr ago according to App Store. If this app is no longer maintained or being supported maybe delist it from the App Store.

Pray you never need customer service
I used this app when I was on an Android phone, and even paid for top-tier support. Several of the little conveniences, like the total price for fuel being filled in based on the quantity and price per gallon, are completely missing in the iPhone version. But it’s still a good app without those. I have literally years of data in the app, and the Android version is significantly more polished. But the biggest problem is the abysmal customer service. I started emailing support through the app two months ago and have heard nothing. Not even an automated “we’ll get back to you” email. The support form itself within the app doesn’t even work well, requiring some shenanigans just to get it to submit. I’m not sure how long I’m going to wait before finding an alternative.

So i bought this app on google play and ios still wants me to pay idk how that works cause everytime ive done it the other way around it works fine.. but yesterday I noticed the app just stopped working and hasnt started back since, also this app just seems to be a lot better for android too as some stats are missing in ios and the total distance ive drove this car isnt even close on ios it looks more like its the actual life time miles of the car 205885 vs what i put on it 1995 huge discrepancy 😂
Ok app, crap support
I recently started using this as my tracker for fuel usage and service. Looked for an app that could specifically do multi-driver tracking for a shared car. No clue if that actually works because the driver I invited never received the invite, and despite having paid for the highest level of the app, the platinum pro version, I still can’t get ANY support. I have emailed multiple times requesting help and have never heard back at all.
