Tuner broken and can’t change instruments
Ever since I got this app and my electric guitar, it gave so much trouble and the tuner goes way off if I want to tune my guitar even though it’s electric and I cannot change instrument settings to electric guitar because of me logging in for the first time

I did one cord 15 times the right way and it never picked up. Something is wrong with the app. Do not get this. It's terrible.

Edit: my E string is broken because of your app. I'm disappointed

Whenever I’m playing my chords, I just have to freaking guess this app sucks. I know I have all my fingers in place and I played the tune and it doesn’t work. The sound don’t go through and my phone is right next to my guitar.

I was tuning my guitar on the app. I told it what guitar I had and it kept saying my cord was too low so I kept turning it higher in a little higher. And then I played it and it’s still said it was too low and then my court snap. And now I don’t know what to do because it told me that it was too low and then now I just have a broken string.

I am at ground zero at guitar, I am a big rock fan and have a guitar but I can’t play. When I was starting, I was using its tuner device and it kept telling me to go higher until it broke my string, AND IT STILL SAID TOO LOW! I felt guilty asking my dad to go to the shop on his off day and get my string replaced. One star!

Very annoying
It never picks up the sounds of my frets, always counts them wrong, you can play ANY chord and it’ll be correct- except the chord that is required. It stresses me out and overall it teaches nothing but that guitars are difficult.
Not good for electric
Not good for electric guitar. While tuning it recognizes my notes but note while playing the frets. Even when I play them with amp volume all the way up and wearing earphones.

I download simply guitar so I can be like Ritchie Valens,Buddy holly,the big bopper, and Chuck berry. I was trying to turn up the first string, while I was doing it, it popped off the guitar. My grandma saying it’s my fault, a guitar expert needs to fix it, and I don’t think I’m going to like any of them. MAKE THE LESSONS NOT BREAK STRINGS.
Money hungry
I was forced to move to this app when simply tuner connected to it. I can’t play any of my songs without having to subscribe to this stupid app. Doesn’t help people to learn guitar if all you want is money.

I was using the tuner and it continuously tune string 1 which I thought to myself this is weird it getting really tight and i have never had tune it up this much but it continues to tell me to turn it up until the string broke. Is this a user error?

Honestly, there’s nothing bad about the free part except for there’s not enough of it. They’re forcing you to pay $150 a year just to get a couple songs and a couple lessons. I just want to be able to learn the guitar for free.

Alike like another reviewer has said, Me personally loved this AT FIRST- I just wish it would have told me I had to pay to Acually play my first song or even continue the rest of the whole app before I took the time to sign in, take a get to know me for my experience and get me hyped up about my first song in the few free lessons that teach u two cords- and again then hit me with with a heavy money monthly description to even continue the app or learn more than 2 cords!💔💀Kind of a waste of my time…The app seems extremely greedy for u to even pay to play in general bc it seems like the devs are more concerned about the MONEY than the actual EDUCATION. The nicest thing I can say is I needed to be informed sooner so I didn’t waste my time💀👎

To even continue your playing, you must purchase a subscription just to access any song. On top of that, they word it to sound like you are paying for a $8.99 a month fee. Hidden and unknown to you, they charge your account $120. Are we serious? Apple does not give out refunds for these accidental purchases, which means you’re initially screwed if you don’t read the fine print. What a sick way to scam people trying to learn something new.

So on Christmas I decided to get this app to play my bass guitar that I had gotten but when I did it didn’t let me play because my guitar was not 5 strings, it was 4. Somehow the YouTube tutorials are better then this app…
Didn’t actually help
I was doing the beginning part and I was finally starting to play and the video told me exactly what to do and where to put my fingers and how to strum and everything like that and I did exactly what it told me to and it said I was wrong nearly every time when I was doing exactly what the guy told me to do. Make better lessons or get someone who can actually play and knows what he/she is talking about and I’ll think about trying this again

First of all you have to pay just to play a song second the tuner says that it’s too high and too low at the same time thirdly it says to play 0,1,2,3 but playing one that is not it it says next it doesn’t teach you anything it just does it for you but on the other hand I learned how to play the guitar on YouTube you heard me right YouTube!
DO NOT USE FOR TUNING
Get a real tuner app, I use this only for tuning my acoustic guitar as a new player. It told me to tighten my one string bc of it being out of tune, so I did. Guess what? It snapped, the others were out of whack bc of this app too and my dad tried to fix it, and he did. But he strums another one and it snapped. Mind you it wasn’t picking up a background noise either. Saying I’m like -100 out of tune, and get a real guitar tuning and real guitar app guys. This whole app may be ai too.

Practice songs
The app is good, but as a student, you won’t be able to choose the genre or style you want to practice songs in, which doesn't make sense since we respond to a questionnaire and mark the options we want to learn. Only after subscribing did I find out I am not allowed to play the type of music I want .
My guitar problems

👎 Needs a skill bump and software fixes
I’ve been a paid user for a month. I’m ready to check out their competitors and for good reasons: 1, you’re not going to learn songs. Sorry. Most of the tabs and riffs are over-simplified or wrong, which makes learning a lot less fun. 2, too beginner friendly. I’ve been playing for a month, I don’t need to practice alternating a single strum between two open strings this far into training. The trainings are often slow, unskippable, and not helpful if you’re past your first few weeks. Make lessons skippable at least. 3, audio detection often misses. So frustrating to strum the same note 6 times trying to get it picked up. Sometimes it works fine, so something weird is going on. This will screw up your technique too.
