Not actually free. Their website is wrong.
The FAQ on the website says that the app is free, within daily limits. But apparently that is not true. You get a three day trial, and then you have to pay. There is no actually free option outside of this three day trial. Either make the app match your marketing on the website, or make the website match reality. But that is false advertising.

I recently spoke with a fellow app user who encountered multiple suicide letters on this platform, felt constantly obligated to answer them, eventually failed to answer one without realizing it was time sensitive (person said they would end their life in hours) and can’t stop thinking that he might have left someone to die.
That fellow app user is still in high school. (18-19 years old)
It’s true that this app is 18+, but shifting the burden of suicide onto untrained professionals who are both unqualified to give advice and unprepared for the sudden shock of mental trauma is extremely unethical, especially because theres no way to report suicide letters so the app can directly provide the suicidal person with the 988 hotline, and also because the option to pass on potentially emotionally charged letters more than once is locked behind a paywall.
Please take action to address this.

Terrible notification problems
I actually like the app. I love the idea of it and the engagement. The problem is that.esaagingbis completely broken and it's making continued communication almost impossible. You get a notification of a new message, so you click on it. The new message does not come to the top. There is no highlight or icon. Not only that, the first few letters previewing the communications are several messages older than the current one. If you have several contacts you have zero idea which one sent you a message. You must manually read contact thread to guess who sent something. This is absolutely idiotic. It makes a great app completely unusable. To make it worse, there is no way to contact anyone for help.

Lost access to account and they can’t get it for me after paying
I paid for the app after creating an account with my Apple account sign in. Once I pay I lose access the next day. I’ve emailed them about it several times but nothing and they quit responding. $30 and they can’t even get me access. I will be disputing this charge with my bank. They need to do better

Was very disappointed to get an app to vent hard times and be slapped with a subscription fee before sending a letter. This is a cash cow taking advantage of broken people. Save yourself the embarrassment and don’t install. The just want their cash.

Liked it until I got multiple canned GPT-like replies. Seems like they’re automated by the system because a real user didn’t get to respond in time. Doesn’t feel like a safe space if my feelings are being shared with an AI model.
Rip off not worth it don’t waste your time
Don’t do the free trial they will automatically charge you the annual fee for a premium subscription for an already free app the day before they’re supposed to and Apple will claim they can’t give you a refund because they have it in the policy with this app company to not give out refunds on annual subscriptions. They don’t have a phone number they don’t respond to emails is no one you can talk to for real. It’s all just a computer you’ll be more encourage to die than to live.
Knew it was too good to be true
Does not offer a free option, only a free trial, makes you go through submitting your first letter before giving you the “offer”. Had me for a minute, but that is shady as hell. This company should be ashamed, getting people to open up like that and THEN give pricing? This kind of bait and switch makes people hesitant to get real help. How dare you.

YOU DO NOT GET A FREE TRIAL, I accepted the free trial , abs canceled within the same day because there were limits to letters and yet they still charged me.

You get your account set up, start learning what to do, and as soon you finish whats essentially the tutorial, you get hit with a “you’re not paying now, but you will soon” screen.

app promises you will get a letter back in 24 hours and that’s a lie, also- i cancelled my membership before the free trial ended and they still charged me for a year long membership, can’t find any contact info to request a refund.
there are also lots of triggering messages they do not filter out.
update: after graciously replying with their customer service email and publicly announcing they will help me with a refund, they have privately denied my refund. predatory app!! this is why i hardly subscribe to any apps anymore even with a free trial, apple just lets their apps get away with anything. i always cancel my free trials the second i get them so i don’t forget. apparently that means nothing to this app, or apple.

Capitalizing off of the mental health crisis is crazy
I feel like this app has gotten more and more greedy lately. What do you mean now there’s a letter writing limit? Some people may need more than one letter to write a certain day so they can vent. We are in a mental health crisis and the least people can have is the option to write as much as they want.

When I first came on this app I was met with a lot of kind words but the more I’ve used it the more bigoted people have harassed me and been saying the most disgusting replies to me. This had made me fall into an extremely dark place and made my mental health worsen to extreme amounts. I’m trans and I get absolutely no support from this app, I’ve been told I’m delusional and have been bullied by people and I’ve never received such horrible messages. I’m disgusted and hurt by this app.
Highly Offensive
Many trolls just randomly telling you to eff off in the most offensive way. Then they block you so you can’t respond or report them. I reported one guy for verbally abusing me and then the next day I was given another letter by him. BAD APP and they charge you $8/ week to suffer this abuse 🤦♀️.

No Help
I got the app. Pretty quickly realised it wasn’t for me. I cancelled during the free trial and deleted my account. I was then charged for the year subscription. I have reached out to the support team through the website via email and have not received any response. I want my money returned and all my data removed. I have yet to receive any response or help. Installer Beware.

Left a review that I was charged after cancelling my trial. The dev team replied that I should reach out to the customer support and they will investigate and help. I reached out but got no reply from them ever.

I don't know whose idea that was in this app but it's incredibly ridiculous. The point is to interact with people like a pen pal situation but that doesn't happen. Don’t waste your time, no one writes anything back.

Would’ve been good
Kept asking me to write a message to myself to see in a month from now. I didn’t want to do it but there was literally no way around it. So I deleted the app. If you don’t want me to help people with my responses fine, but don’t force me into an action by locking out the rest of the app features.

I decided to do the one week trial to see what this was about. I like the idea, but the experience is less broad than app developers would have you believe. Every. Single. Letter. (Like, 50 of them) was from a male, and easily half of them were long poems. I’m not on the app to meet women, but I was hoping for interaction with them solely for the purpose of getting their perspectives. This feels like a barren wasteland of desperate or depressed single dudes. Only two of the letters I received had real substance and made me want to respond.

the daily mail from “strangers” is ai generated which sucks. I literally got the ai chat help to admit it. Connecting with other humans would have been nice but i didnt realize i was venting and helping absolutely no one since it was all ai
App is fine it gets really boring
The app is ok I’ve been using it for a while, I got responses here and there but lately my letters that I sent are being deleted?? They always have the resend button and it bothers me because I’m pretty much that means that people can’t see my letter or it didn’t go through, I might get rid of the app because of is the constant silence. I help others but I don’t necessarily get the help back I guess. The app is fine if you are a beginner but once you like move up it just gets dry and it feels like your talking to yourself or a bunch of crickets.

Downloaded this app again because it helped me a lot when I had it 2 years ago, now there’s ads everywhere! Even while trying to write a letter, I was interrupted by an ad, that’s ridiculous.

Hacking?
I love this app however I keep getting messages while using the app that takes me to Safari saying that someone is trying to hack my phone and I have 2 min to open a web link! I haven’t opened it of course but it has happened 4 times it’s super sketchy. I made an update on the app so I’ll if that works but can someone fix this! It’s scary.
Rip Off
I paid the whole year subscription. I was helping a lot of people and made a few friends, but had to leave for a while and when I got back on, all my progress is missing and it’s saying my account is new. No subscription or anything, but yet I still have the receipt and proof in my Apple account. Yet I never received a refund either! Smh
Great idea, value missing
I like the app but the pay version is ridiculously expensive. Want to watch ads instead? Sure. BUT when the ad video is over, there’s no way to exit to the app. It’s an endless loop of watching ads. Sad. Frustrating. Do better.

I was really interested in the app so I downloaded and made an account. It makes you pay for the app but it offers a free trial. So I selected the free trial. But immediately afterwards it charged my card $10. I continued to use the app since I paid for it. And it’s okay. But I don’t think it’s for me… so much for a “free trial”
