Not User Friendly
App was difficult to use not only by myself, but three other people in my group. Particularly when trying to sign in & get your boarding pass… This app needs a lot of work!

Still unable to select the preferred frequent flyer program. In addition the error codes are confusing.
How many times do I need to verify I’m human
This stupid app makes you do the puzzle every time you try to update or view anything on personal profile. This is when you are still in the app. How stupid can it get????
Broken Signup Experience
As a new user there are so many bugs on signup form and checkin. Bug in frequent flyer name matching with spaces. Oh god it’s 2026 and they can’t get basics right.

Very dissatisfying experience
Tried to book two tickets independently and with both I was kicked out of the reservation at payment and had to redo the reservation at a higher price. It’s the classic bait and switch. Very disappointed as I never thought SIA would do that.
Used to be a big fan of this airline, have to rethink this after this experience.

Violate privacy
You should not have to provide full calendar access to add flight itineraries. This app is a violation of privacy. You should not harvest our calendars to simply have the convenience of adding the flight information. Extremely frustrating.
Buggy
Can’t sign up . Says I have an account. I’ve never flown before. Tried multiple emails. Now says b0999 error.
App is slow & unresponsive
Really disappointing app. Very slow and crashes whenever I try to use it for checking mile redemption fares.

In the app, you have the option to select partner programs in order to earn miles (in my case United Mileageplus). Whenever you enter your number the app refuses to accept it. I’ve tried many times. The website doesn’t work either. I’ve even linked my United account within the app. Still no luck. Also, any time you do anything it makes you enter an annoying one time passcode multiple times during the same session. Awful app.

I will not be using Singapore airlines again. I have been a happy customer for over 20 years but trying to contact customer service as been a wake up call. SIA charges premier prices but offers budget service.

Airline is great, however the online process to check in is difficult and problematic. Worst one I’ve ever encountered.
Upgrade
I checked the upgrade to business class and it was $900. An hour later i was not able to do that online. Called Singapore Airlines and it was more than $2000. Really?
Website stupid
Keeps kicking me out at payment. Tried six times w 3 different credit cards. All my credit cards are valid. Very annoying.
Never earn points
I have flown with Singapore airlines before Covid and just recently in 2024 from the United States to Singapore and have not earned 1 mile because their app never connects with the actual flight. It’s deceptive and they are not willing to help in fact after six months you can’t add anything. Because of this there are other airlines, I will be taking in the future. I was just informed that they were going to delete my account because I haven’t made any miles or purchases, which is false.
App missing major features
Unable to to get digital ticket even after I am checked in. Flight info in app does not include gate number which is necessary.

Downloaded the app for a trip to Singapore. Got email confirmation and “activated” my account and member number. App never worked at all 🤷♂️. The airline is great. The app, not so much.

Good app though not perfect
I like the Singapore Airlines app. However, it’s not without bugs. Wanted to report a problem but couldn’t since it’s a free app and they are not accepting feedback on the app, hence this review.
I used the live chat functionality right now and I just couldn’t see what I was typing. The message window does not resize so I can’t correct or see what I have typed. The message is seen once I hit the send key

Useless
Avoid Singapore airlines rewards program, it’s a scam and absolutely useless. Customer service is awful
Kris Flyer
It is impossible to redeem flights from my Kris Flyer Miles. It’s extremely disappointing. I have more than 500,000 miles and am unable to redeem them. Moreover, the miles have expiration date.

Very weak web site. Worst in class.
Horrendous waste of time - esp add bag and live chat.
Very clunky, especially parts that rely on website link. All kinds of gotchas re adding additional checked bags - forcing you to do it at airport for usurious blackmail prices. Chat support staff poorly trained, uninformed, powerless and slow. After over an hour with one got disconnected and couldn’t reconnect with her - next agent asked me to hold and disappeared for 40mins and never came back. Tried calling and agent incrementally better but still couldn’t resolve problem and promised call back before 7pm but now 8pm and no call back. SQ inflight staff are good but the rest of the company has withered, all blame goes to top management.
Nothing saves
I input my information ahead of time in an effort to save time and then when I come back to check in - all my information is gone and I have to re-input it. This happened on the outgoing portion of my trip too.
My Reservations were not listed
This app failed to list four bookings that I made. It’s made me nervous and started wondering what was going on.

I have to add my trips manually and it does not even carryover between two versions of the app.
Login not working on app
I have changed password multiple times. It's not able to log me in the app but web browser works fine. Fix that issue asap!

The fact that their chat service doesn’t allow autocorrect and thus troubles you to correct spelling all the time is extremely frustrating. Despite having told their customer service to raise this with their app developers multiple times for the past 24 months, they haven’t done anything with it and it shows me, that SQ doesn’t care about wasting its travellers’ time and has no problem with this nuisance. It’s 2023, how can you not have corrective spelling on your live chat is beyond me. It’s the most basic thing.
Additionally the app continues to crash when staying in the live chat for over 10-15 minutes. Had to start the same conversation over 3 times. Luckily I gave the last agent my number in case the app would crash (which it did!) so she could call me (which she did).
Also can’t seem to login on the app since a few days. The Face Recognition gets activated, but despite it saying it’s OK, it not OK, as I cannot see my Account Details. 1 star for that. Otherwise potentially 4 stars.

Something Wrong
Every time I open the application 90% of the time it keeps saying “something is wrong.” After the latest update 22.47.0 all my future is gone and I must input manually.

Great airline. Terrible app.
Lots of login issues since, and most of the booking management is still federated to the web app. The user interface is slow and clunky. I would expect so much more from an airline that has an amazing flying experience. If you want to know want an amazing airline app looks like, try Delta.
Unable to sit with young children
I’m flying with 2 young kids (4 & 7). When I purchased the ticket I realized there are not any three seats next to each other, I tried to contact customer service and the response is it is what it is, suggest us to try to sit closer (even it’s rows apart from each other).

Singapore flight was fine but the way they handled us last May, leaves me selecting other airlines. We booked our flight through Singapore airlines. They put us on Alaska airlines for the first part of our trip. We were to catch a connection in California which was then to bring us to Singapore. Alaska was running 15 minutes late. I contacted Singapore air and Alaska air. They assured me I would make my connections. However, when arriving in California, both Alaska air and Singapore air did not offer any assistance in getting to our connection. We arrived to the gate 15 minutes before flight take off but because they closed the door, we could not board. Singapore gate attendant was rude and told us we needed to sleep in the airport and they would get us on a flight the next day. It was our 40th Anniversary and we were to be in Australia to care for our grandson while my daughter was in labor. Singapore air didn’t care. They refused to allow us on the flight, which sat st the gate an additional 10 minutes while we were sitting right there. They refused to assist us in getting a place to sleep. Finally, Alaska air offered to put us up for the night. We did not book through Alaska air but they were the one who came to our help. Singapore air, who the entire booking was through, did nothing. Gate staff was very cold and rude. We will not fly with them again
Face Recognition Not Working
I’m a PPS customer, and use the app quite a bit. Or at least I used to. Recently I am unable to log in. Face recognition initiates whenever I open the app, I get the “check” that it’s successful - but I don’t actually get logged on.

The app is not working. I have been trying to redeem the same ticket for over a week. When I called to ask for help getting the site to work, they sold me two tickets for almost 800 more than what I could have bought it on the site. The switch from Delta Airlines where I was platinum was a difficult choice for me to make but I made the choice and I keep having these kinds of problems on your app. I don’t feel very valued. And I feel significant frustration with this particular effort to try and use the promised rewards.

Do NOT PURCHASE.
They canceled my flight and wouldn’t give a refund. It’s now 10 months I been desperately trying to get my refund for the canceled flights. If you go with this company just know when they cancel your flight you won’t get a refund. They will delete your e ticket number when they “escalate” the matter... they said they have processed the refund, but now after 8 weeks later they said “we never processed the refund”. SCAMMER BEWARE.

Not a world class airline
I booked my ticket online with an obvious mistake with the dates, leaving Singapore within one day after arriving from New York and traveling 24 hours to celebrate Chinese New Year’s. When I tried to rectify the error, I was charged a penalty for it. Being a Gold Krisflyer member was pointless , I tried to speak to the manager/supervisor to make my case but was refused. Would definitely think twice before booking this airline again.

It’s disappointing that the app doesn’t provide real time updates of gate changes. Don’t rely on this app on travel days

I have downloaded the most recent update of the app, I’ve tried deleting and redownloading, but still the app refuses to open. It will open for a split second and then crash

Airlines great, app subpar
Have zero problems with the airline, but the app is embarrassingly subpar. Why bother if the website is better, and the app reaches out to the website more often than not anyway? Take a look at the Delta app where the app is better than the website. Only case where this app was useful was letting me know about the carriage carousel. Come on, SIA, I know you can do better here.
