Church People are not employees
We use this for church and they don’t want to change the fact that they call them employees. We love the app but that’s the only thing. If we could change it to people it would be great. Or an option to pick how you want to call them but yeah this is a non profit please add an option to do this!

You have to exit out of the app and re enter like 5 times because it will just randomly buffer

As a manager who builds schedules weekly, Sling has become an absolute nightmare to work with. There are constant glitches that make something as simple as scheduling employees way more difficult than it should be.
One of the biggest issues is shifts randomly not appearing after you schedule them. Then when you try to re add the shift, the app tells you the employee is already scheduled…only for both shifts to suddenly appear later, creating duplicates and confusion. It makes you second guess whether the schedule is even accurate.
There are also visibility and UI issues everywhere. Important buttons like the “All Day Unavailable” option are nearly invisible on the employee side, which leads to staff accidentally submitting things incorrectly or not seeing options at all.
The app will also randomly show employees working doubles or shifts on completely different days than what was actually scheduled. As a manager, that is incredibly frustrating because now staff thinks THEY were scheduled incorrectly when it’s actually the app glitching.
Another huge issue is requests off and unavailability submissions. Employees will show proof that they submitted them through the app, but nothing appears on the manager side. This creates unnecessary conflict between management and staff because now everyone is blaming each other when it’s clearly a system issue.

It kind of seems like no one works there. I have left feedback in the app several times and the issues have still not been resolved.
1. The schedule. After scrolling around the schedule for a few minutes, the entire schedule disappears. What even is that? Then I have to force close the app and relaunch.
2. The feedback submission form in the app itself. While typing the feedback, the phone’s keyboard will obstruct the user’s finger from clicking the submit button. It is possible to submit it, but extremely difficult because it requires extremely speedy fingers and great coordination.
The overall vibe I get from Sling is: You think this is funny.
I’d love to see these issues be fixed.

Constant refresh
In the same way as others have described about using the app, I can usually briefly look at it and then if I move to the next week or swipe up/down too quickly, it will just be in a never ending buffer and I’ll have to close out the app and try again. I just tried using it and had to close it 5 times before I finally just gave up on the information I was looking for.
We’ve used this app for almost 6 months now and the issue is getting worse with time. This is clearly a known issue that doesn’t seem to be a priority to fix. Luckily the web browser doesn’t do this, but my workplace will begin looking for a new platform for employee scheduling.

Can’t log in
I can no longer login to this app. It works fine on desktop, but the app kicked me out and hasn’t let me back in for weeks. I get in an endless spinning wheel. I have tried resetting my password and reinstalling the app, but I’m still stuck.

This app constantly refreshes and it makes for very slow work. If you’re a manager, you might wanna look elsewhere.

You can’t even load a week out of schedule without the app crashing. The format is poorly made why can I only see my schedule by the week and not the month. It’s overall a poorly designed app.
Most frustrating app ever
Could not log on or reset password. Then timed out. Does not remember you ID like most apps. I would never select this app but required to use it by my employer. Avoid it if at all possible.

Glitches every time I use it.
As other reviews have mentioned- you cannot swipe between the weeks of the schedule and it work properly. Any time this action is attempted, it will skip weeks- and the schedule itself continuously loads, without ever showing up. At that point the only thing you can do is restart the app to see the schedule again. This is incredibly frustrating when attempting to examine multiple weeks at a time- or simply when looking at the full schedule that includes everyone else, because as you try to scroll, it will swap you to a different week and glitch out when you aren’t even trying to. Please for the love of god fix this bug. I want to like this app but it is borderline inoperable with these issues.
The worst
90% of the time it just sits there and loads and loads and loads. Annoying affffffffffffffffffffffff. I hate this stupid app.
Great but broken
When looking through shifts and going to other weeks the pages reload or swap back and forth between past a future weeks on its own, makes looking at the schedule with the team impossible, please fix this

The website is fine when actually creating the schedule. It glitches all the time but I can refresh and it’s fine. The phone app sucks. I can barely scroll up or down through one day without it skipping to the next week and taking forever to load before I have to close the app and bring up the day I’m trying to see again. I manage over 100 people daily in a very busy restaurant and minutes matter so I need to be able to pull up my schedule for any given day at a moment’s notice. This makes it incredibly difficult and frustrating.

Once again it is absolutely painful to use the mobile app. The website is totally fine so credit where credit is due but looking at the mobile app on a phone jumps to other weeks with an incredibly frustrating consistency. I use this app very often at a very busy restaurant. Sometimes I really need to be able to look at my schedule at any moment from my phone and when it jumps to other weeks just from one touch it is infuriating! Please address this. Seriously, please!

App Gets Stuck

When using it on an iPhone, it frequently gets stuck in an idle or loading state. I’m often forced to close and reopen the app just to view the next tab or switch from Dashboard to Shift. This becomes a major headache since I rely on the app daily to manage and juggle shifts.

App sucks - not a bot review
The app consistently glitches out and will not load content on certain pages. Whenever I get a new message it is hit or miss on whether I will be able to view the message. I thought these might be bugs that a new update would fix but I was wrong. It’s when an app can’t get the simple things right that makes me never want to use it again.
Forced by Work
My work forces me to use this app. It constantly has problems where it can’t load the schedule. Even if I just looked at next weeks schedule, if I come back to the current week and try to go to the next week again, the app has a meltdown and refuses to load. I will be stuck on a loading screen for info that I JUST viewed seconds prior. Even when I reset it, the app still fails me. It takes numerous resets. There’s also a problem where I try to open certain chats and the screen goes white, completely freezing the app. No amount of resets have allowed me to open the chat with my boss- which renders the app basically useless. I hate this app. Sorry.

Invasion of Privacy
When I reached out to customer support for help their response included screen-caps of my account from within the app. At no time did I give consent for Sling to access my account information and this unfettered access to my private account information raises grave concerns for how they treat, secure, and view my private account information.

This app is deteriorating- someone please save it
Only had to use this for work and it feels like the creators behind this are unaware of the issues around it because it seemingly is getting worse and worse… cannot copy or paste from the mobile version, cannot like comments from the mobile version, the typing window is about half an inch and leaves you unable to even read what you’re posting, let alone scroll up to see. And if you reactive a staff and try to reactivate- it won’t let you. You have to delete them and resend the invitation. I still use the app because I love the post function where it doesn’t look like a text thread that other apps have. But someone’s gotta do something about this trainwreck.
DELETE MY INFO
I haven’t used Sling in about 5 years, yet somehow OUT OF NOWHERE my old Sling calendar integrated with my google calendar and even when I go into my google settings and uncheck all the sling calendar options, they magically still show back up in my google calendar the next day. THEN when I try to log into my sling account to completely deactivate my account and unlink everything, it’s saying I don’t even have an account to log into?! THEN WHY IS IT STILL SYNCING TO MY ACCOUNT.
It feels invasive and constantly annoying having to go through and delete all of the events from my calendar and it feels like something is legally wrong with this because you’re accessing my information somehow and not allowing me to log in to change the settings????

The schedule does not load within a reasonable amount of time. It will sit there with the spinning circle forever and when I check if there’s an update, there never is.

I signed up for a trial to see if it would fit my business needs and I had trouble from the very beginning. I tried to create an account and Capcha failed no matter what I did so I had to use my Google account.
After installing the app I started making shifts. The shifts would not save and neither would the time blocks. I tried to add shift shifts and time blocks multiple times and nothing would save. I had high hopes for this app because of the task management with sub tasks, but it doesn’t seem to be able to do even the basic stuff. I wish it would work because the price is affordable, but I guess you get what you pay for.

This app crashed out
I’ve been trying to log in for days, on my own and through links from my new employer. Even tried making a new account and it’s a different kind of error every time. First it says I don’t belong to a team, then it’s the recaptcha is just bugged and doesn’t work. Sometimes it’s just a classic, “error occurred”.
A solution looking for a problem
This app is still overpriced junk. Not sure how they managed to get rid of my old review but I’ll keep writing new ones. It doesn’t sync correctly across devices so even if I clear notifications on my ipad they show up on my phone as unread. And the messaging is so non-functional that we still use group texts every shift. They finally added an option to turn off the Santa hats during December but that was a solution looking for a problem. Actually that’s kinda just the app in general.

cannot get into this app for the life of me, had to have my boss resend me an invite to access to my time sheets and schedule, then tried getting on my ipad and couldn’t
No customer support
When when I tried to sign into my account, I forgot my password, so I clicked the text that sent a link to change it. The link said it was expired so I went to click the text again so that it could send me a new link, but it kept redirecting me to the old one. When I went to contact costumer support in hopes of getting my password back or a new password, the operator said that they would answer me in 15 mins or less. Here I am, 5 hours later and still no help or advice on how to log into this app in order to see my job schedule. Unbelievable.
constantly crashes
whenever i am attempting to scroll through the entire schedule of my team, the page consistently goes blank, and sometimes refreshes but often not, causing me to have to close and reopen the app. this happens so often that it makes viewing the entire team’s schedule near impossible. not a fan of the interface either.

Nothing but errors when trying to clock out of shifts. If you forget to clock in at exactly the right time, getting your time adjusted is nothing short of a hassle. So many annoying things about this app.

Glitching
The app is convenient like most work apps where you can see everyone’s schedule and communicate through there. But every single time I have to reload my app or close it because if I swipe down or up a little too fast it’ll just turn completely white/blank and load for more than a minute. It glitched every time I open the app the swipe through my schedule or full schedule. I never had that much issues with other work apps .
UX bugs need fixing
Some key functions are broken, making for a frustrating user experience. Viewing coworkers on a shift only displays as many as fit on the screen at once most of the time, requiring a relaunch of the app if it doesn’t properly load the remaining coworkers. Navigating to a message through the search function will place you at a seemingly random location in the corresponding chat.
Good, but one major annoyance
I like the layout of the app, it’s very straightforward and easy to navigate (though the unavailability process could be made far more straightforward, it’s way more over complicated than it needs to be). However, every time I need to use it, I have to close the app at least two times and reopen if I have to view another week’s schedule, as it always glitches and will skip ahead two weeks when I tap the arrow once, and when I try to go back, absolutely nothing loads. I’m really surprised this wasn’t fixed in any of the previous updates. But it’s rather frustrating.
I use it on my phone, as I’m sure most employees do out of convenience. You should be making sure that not only the true website version is efficient, but the app as well. Bug when checking schedule
Everytime I am looking at the schedule to see whos working it always goes back two weeks so I have to keep scrolling back ITS SO ANNOYING FIX IT PLEASE
Poorly designed scroll feature
Honestly the most infuriating part of the app is its UI. Scrolling and swiping on sling is truly a nightmare it is so easy to suddenly swipe to another page, you will do it more times than you ever intend. Trying to scroll down to look at your schedule or the full schedule? Itll just swipe to the next page.

Frustrating to use
When I am scrolling through days on the calendar, it changes the week wayyyyy too easily. Like I’m not trying to swipe left and right and it registers it as left and right swipes. This does not happen to me on any other program but happens all the time on this app.

Thank you for wasting mine and my manager’s time! Really appreciate it! The difficulty of the UI was super cool! Not fitting on the phone screen was a nice touch as well! I can tell the developers are a real remarkable bunch! Impressive work really to make it that bad of an experience! Trying to set up my account for the first time and correcting a mistake resulted in the complete deletion of my account! Superb work really! How about just having something like a back button instead of trying to get me to register a company? Unheard of thought I know, I should charge a consulting fee

Groupchats bad, schedule calendar glitches
We had homebase before and recently switched over to Sling. The experience hasn’t been great - the calendar constantly doesn’t refresh or glitches out and doesn’t show schedules for employees. The group chats don’t show who is in them and you also can’t check to see who is. Just really basic stuff that should be a part of the app are completely missing.
