Flaky WiFi Connectivity
It might be worth the risk of using a foreign-managed product in your home network. The App and its ability to connect to three capable products is so flaky, why take the risk?

Whoever is the top authority in charge of this digital application is making an absolutely TERRIBLE decision. This app WAS handy. It DID work. The capabilities USED TO BE progressive and modern. That is ALL OVER NOW. Your FAILURE was a conscious decision. You have CHOSEN to abandon your customers. Now you will face the CONSEQUENCES. The question: Should one create & release a new version of an app that is only supported by a newer version of iOS while simultaneously leaving an erroneous code/conflict or message in the previous version so that it will no longer work? Choosing to do this guarantees that I will NEVER invest in another smart product that requires this app EVER AGAIN. In other words: No. Anyone employed at a company that sells things to the public should avoid leaving customers behind because they financially support their life. The true depths answer: This offensive decision has displayed the worst character trait that exists in the technology sector - To knowingly force one's preference over others' to the extremes where at some point, sooner or later, doing so ultimately leads to negative outcomes of one's choices yet disregarding the fact anyway. The decision maker(s) behind this app have done exactly this. I CANNOT update. I REFUSE to buy a new iPhone. I WILL remember who did and who didn't. ... and I absolutely will spread knowledge to all who would listen. You have shot yourself in the foot. If there is a way for you to somehow fix this and make the previous version allow users to sign in, by all means, though your the error in judgment will not go unmarked, a rectification would garner a reprieve... Otherwise, you are supporting fascism. To everyone else out there: If you're considering a GE 'smart' air conditioner - PLEASE DON'T! Buy a Medea that supports matter instead. Matter is the technological equivalent of the democracy process - Please support it wherever possible, because your choices...well, they matter. __________________ Original Review: Works but... unless every appliance in your home is GE, be prepared for an app full of features you have no use for. Also, there is no alternative for Apple users, GE doesn't do HomeKit, let alone Matter or Thread. I've had one of the arch style air conditioners for over a year now and even though it's a mid-5KBTU, it works great. I hope GE decides to change coarse in the future and interconnect with other smart home platforms by integrating Matter. My AC probably won't ever be able to do it, but if it continues to last I would consider a second one for another room. I do recommend if found on sale. It's relatively quiet, esthetically modern and maintains a stable connection spring-fall. The only bug negative is this app does not provide the ability to create a schedule. Settings are on-demand only. Not a huge deal, but an oversight IMHO. Stable, but room for improvements. We'll see what they do in the future

Ice maker - Opal
The absolute worst!!! Jack Welch has to be rolling over in his grave. Where is the quality assurance of this product? Can’t load updates, consistently says, “add water”. The absolute worst APP. $450 dollar FAILURE!!!!!

All the app does is display the loading screen and never actually load. Pretty annoying when I just setup my ac unit so my house wouldn’t be 80 degrees when I get home from a week vacation. If it actually work it would be great to control the ac via WiFi.

Initial WiFi app was great. Update is awful. Set temp and put on auto, and machine continues to cycle even when room temp is cooling than programmed temp. Min avail wifi programmable temp is 69 degrees F. Manual is 62 degrees F.
All in all, far worse of an experience and frustrating.

BARELY WORKS
This app barely works. Most of the time I cannot even get it to load my air conditioner status. It keeps going in a circle and does this indefinitely despite the AC only being less than a year old. FIX THE APP!

I’ve been trying to add a GE washer and dryer for about an hour now I’ve gone through about every freaking setting up and down and the thing connects, but will not connect to my home network
June 2026 Update Broke Opal Ice Maker
Just like the title says, I updated the software on June 2026 and can NO longer add On/Off schedule to my Opal ice maker now. Doesn’t matter how many times I press or how long I hold the “Save” button, the schedule setting NEVER lock in & saved!!! So frustrating!

Smarmy
They can’t bother to let me dispense my own detergent or set a custom amount to dispense, but they put the time into filling the app with ads for their own detergent. I bought a washing machine in part because of an auto dispenser and it’s useless to me because they don’t support the detergent I use. Not much better than a scam.

I have a single AC connected via this abomination of an app. Half the time I start the app and it’s just loading. I am literally two rooms away. Then I have to restart it, sometimes I have to tap multiple times on a button to get something done. Useless.

This app is very buggy when it comes to logging in. “Invalid Credentials” error comes up after numerous password resets, and even uninstalling and reinstalling. I’ve called tech support and they’re even dumbfounded by the error. Currently waiting on a follow up from them because they can’t seem to find the source of this issue.
This app needs to be constantly updated because as of now, I can’t use any of the smart features of my appliances any more because this app can’t handle even the simplest tasks of keeping users logged in.

This app is awful. It’s super-slow, you change the settings and nothing happens even though you are connected to the dehumidifier. The app has ads, for some reason it also has a shopping list area. I just want to control the dehumidifier remotely. What a disappointment.

This app is beyond useless. Waiting 5-15 minutes for a status on any device (dehumidifier/AC/etc), to the point it’s faster to physically walk to the device. There is zero convenience with this app, and it has gotten progressively worse over the past two years. I will never buy another GR product again

As soon as I created and verified my account the app crashed. Now, it crashes immediately after signing in every time. This app is completely unusable.

Very poor support
GE now moved service support to “Bodewell” very horrible system. I called to get help unlocking the door- after 5 hours of listening to auto call “press 1 for….” I finally get a person- the motor is warranties for 10 years- there are no approved service providers in my area- I get told to check YouTube for repair advice… I could have bought a car for the price I paid to thus garment eating machine!!! I’ll never buy any more GE products!! I have only ever bought GE Profile line-thinking it was made better - it’s all trash!!
Bad update
Pushed out a bad update April 2026 that removed the wash station feature that is only accessible through the app on newer washing machines. When this was brought to the attention of app support, they put the toggle back on the app, but its routing was not properly configured. To date, the toggle for wash station does nothing when turned on. App support does not respond. There is no longer a way to pre-treat or pre-soak clothing.
Update 6/8: Still no resolution or indication one is truly being worked on. It took no time for this faulty update to roll out, but it’s taking many months to revert bad programming to a functional app.

Don’t beg for reviews
Trying to cook and I don’t appreciate getting pop-ups that interrupt a utility. I am trying to do quickly.

App does not show actual fridge temp, on set temp. If the is an alert notification you can not read it again in the app. The app is largely useless.

About as reliable as Windows Vista. WiFi unstable and difficult to connect/reconnect after it drops. Takes forever to load. And currently, after ages, the app is connected to the WiFi, but doesn’t let you make any changes to the controls, like changing the temp or fan speed. Ugg this needs an update and a focus on usability not ads.

The app takes way too long to connect to the appliances, takes long to enroll, the error messages doesn’t help at all and sometimes it won’t load.

Nothing but Bodewell spam
Every time I open the app I am inundated with nothing but Bodewell spam. I don’t want your garbage laundry detergent, and I’m sick of hitting the X to close banners, be told I can’t hide it forever, then go check on my washing machine status, then be given TWO MORE ADS FOR THE SAME LAUNDRY DETERGENT ON THE SAME SCREEN. This is infuriating. I spent thousands on my laundry equipment (to which you also tell me to buy specifically Tide brand for the dispenser) then spin around in app with so much spam for your white label garbage trash.
