Doesn’t work

Like the idea but super frustrating and confusing to install can’t get it to work waste of $15 for me!

…..this just doesn’t work. I went to forums, YouTube and followed instructions to the letter without fail. I tried contacting support and no response. This was anything but easy to set up. In fact it’s pretty complicated and not at all intuitive or user friendly. What a waste of money.

If you’re looking to purchase this to use with Infinite Flight, it’s no longer supported unfortunately. Wish I knew before wasting $10

This app was fantastic and used to hook right up. Now I’ve done everything I can think of and this app will not connect to my PC. and there’s not help online…”No Route to Host” is this apps favorite thing to say. I’ve done everything online and nothing. Disappointing app

I went through all the steps to try to get this thing downloaded I feel so stupid because I spent two hours trying to do it I have to download applications and install things within those applications I find it ridiculous and I can’t even open the software anymore open track is useless waste of money go get some other tracking app

Yeah. Maybe it’s just my asymmetrical nose, but this app is too twitchy for my taste. I’ve used EDTracker for many years now, but wanted to add head movement. Wish I could get my money back from this because now I need to buy TrackIR 😄

Terrible product. Very hard to set up. Requires full access to your router which you may not have. Requires external software which you must download and configure. I never did get it to work.

I recently bought this app in July of the 25th and for some odd reason this app alone while it works amazingly great is causing a verification required loop when I have purchased this app. It then says that I’m unable to refund to be able to cancel the verification required loop because I wanna redownload some of my apps I deleted in the past. This is very annoying.

It does work but it has to be so bright in my room to read my face, that it isn’t worth using.

First off, some of the reviewers state that you open your router for port 4242 to make this software connect to the open track software; the is not correct. DO NOT DO THIS! What you need to do is allow UDP port 4242 on your computer’s firewall to pass to the Open Track software. Note that the UDP traffic is one way so you only need to open the port inbound to the Open Track software. All traffic between your IPhone and the computer with the Opentrack software stays within your internal network.
With the simple instructions on the web site, it was easy to get this app to connect to the Open Track software.
The reason that I am giving this software a rating of two stars it that latency between this app and the Open Track software is terrible. My router supports 802.N and my phone can download from the Internet at speeds of 235 Mbs over a wireless connection which is slightly faster than the computer using a LAN connection. This latency causes random jerkiness when using it in DCS world. None of the smoothness settings in the Open Track software could resolve this issue. Another problem is that the Open Track software seems to get stuck, pausing the view, when the tracking data exceeded the software tracking limitations. I couldn’t fix this any of the settings or by adjusting the curves.
I like the concept of this software and it seems to track well even when the phone is 24” from where I’m sitting, but the problem is latency between this app and the Open Track software.
I will continue to play with it because I hate wearing the TrackIR reflectors and if I can get this app to work, it would be a much cheaper solution for new DCS players than setting up an IR tracker system.
I will update this review with a better rating if I can resolve these issues and will post the solutions as well.
