When downhill so bad
This was the only game I have ever played. Also, The only game I’ve ever paid for and now I’m canceling my VIP and deleting the app… because it steals coins, power ups and tickets from your account and it also won’t keep you signed in now. And anytime I try to open my app it makes me go through the sign in all over again.

They be trying real hard to make you pay for the SongPop plus with all the ads and limited playlists you can select. After every round you play with someone its followed by an ad that you have to keep clicking the x in the corner. At first I was like damn this is fun I wonder why I quit playing but I quickly remembered after the first couple games abruptly followed by ads until I genuinely started getting frustrated with them and my playing time significantly dropped over the week. I’m sure yall got the statistics. People would probably play the game more if the ads alone weren’t so in your face. Excessive ads? Screw it I’ll pay 12 bucks a month for the SongPop plus. Not this guy, your game ain’t that good, it’s fun but not 12 dollars a month fun. If I was a trillionaire I still wouldn’t pay 12 dollars a month to play this game. Just my opinion tho so what does it all really mean in the end ? Was it even worth it to write this review? Probably not. But, if I accomplished one thing it would be to make someone else who feels the same way I do laugh. It was a good run SongPop I will fondly remember you in a distasteful but a yearning for your love kind of way.

This game used to be so much fun but it’s turned into a game filled with things trying to be sold to us. The amount of items that are trying to be sold to the player daily is ridiculous. Every day there is a push for power ups, coins, tickets, badges, packages. ENOUGH! It’s actually absurd how capitalism has become the main focus of this game, not the music.

This game is so unenjoyable. Flooded with pop-ups constantly and causes to skip over pages you’re trying to look at because of it. the most annoying thing in a game.

Pay to excel
I used to enjoy this game immensely and have had for over 10 years now. I do exceptionally well in the genres I am familiar with. However, as of late, I suspect that cheating has become so rampant and combined the ability to purchase bonus items has made the game unenjoyable and unplayable for me. I have never spent money on it and never will. Subjective, but I welcome anyone to see for themselves. Enjoy /s
What happened to this app?
Returned to this after 10 years. WOW this app is being maintained by some real money grubbing people. Thanks for immediately forcing me to choose only 3 playlists- none of them are the genre I listen to so I have zero reason to use this app. Tried it out anyways and wow- don’t even play against real people anymore, and it’s become an infomercial of an app. Who wants to pay for an app that is THIS greedy? I haven’t seen an app this bad in a while. And IVE NEVER SEEN AN UNSKIPABLE AD THAT IS 2 MINUTES LONG!!!! There’s zero buttons anywhere except the install. Ridiculous when each game takes 15 seconds then you spend the next 2 WATCHING ADS! Then after you’re done with that, you click on a button and then there’s 5+ popups that try to get you to buy premium! What a joke! This is a great example of what NOT to do when developing an app. Real shame

No help when app not working
Hard to reach for help. When you do they don’t help. I’ve been stuck at level 200 for a month. Next step I’ll not pay for the app any more if the problem isn’t resolved soon.

I tried to log in different ways and in two different devices, I even tried to download this in different WiFi connections/addresses. It’s sad because I used to love this game a lot before uprgrading to a better phone and now I can’t log in.

This game makes you watch an ad after every single match, if you don’t pay $10 or so a month. I used to love this game back in 2012, but they have completely sold out. Not to mention the UI looks terrible.

The ads are absolutely insane. They are CONSTANT. I completely understand games come with ads when you don’t pay, and I play plenty of other games that have ads but this game is an ad about every other minute. I just played the game for 6 mins and had to watch 4 ads, it takes all the fun out of the game. Other games I will ultimately end up spending money but this one is so stuffed with ads I can’t even get into it.
ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE
BEWARE: If you have any problems with your account, customer service will not help you. I have been a paying member for YEARS and have all of a sudden been blocked from using my account. I cannot play any games since 1/5/25. I have tried sending in many tickets to customer support, with 0 response. I paid for a $100 sale that granted unlimited powerups, and because of being blocked, was unable to use them. I reached out about a refund, again, no response. I have had to file a dispute with my credit card company to get it refunded. I have had to cancel my yearly membership because of the blatant disregard of company representatives to help a long time member who has been blocked for no reason. STAY. AWAY.

Love this game especially now all the little issues have been ironed out. If you enjoy music, download this app. It is a great game for music lovers. Few things they can still improve but they may just be things I'd prefer 😉. I still enjoy this game but almost every day I have to uninstall it & reinstall it because it won’t open. Please fix this issue. SongPop 2 needs fixing too and no one responds or fixes the issues we submit.
It's dead
Splash intro screen not updated in months, no new playlists except a few chosen by AI, this app was so. Much fun for years, now it's no longer supported. Cancelling my subscription and never using the new version.
Love the game, Ads Stink
I’ve played for more than 10 years. The ads get longer and you have to click “X” half a dozen times on some before ad goes away. So frustrating. I’m not paying $10 a month to play w/o ads.
Annoying sig in
I recently updated this app. And ever since then, every freaking day, every freaking time I open the app it makes me sign in through Facebook again. I understand doing it once after it’s updated or some thing, but not every single day. Again this has been since it updated. Definitely not an improvement
Mistakes
I’ve been playing this game for years and love it, but for 2 days in a row, mistakes were made regarding daily bonuses. Yesterday you had to guess the song of the day from a particular playlist because the name of the artist was misspelled on their greatest hits playlist, and today I am supposed to score 25000 points in a PVP match. I believe a perfect score is 24000, so how can I get 25000? Still love the game, but hate it right now.

Ads break the game
It’s fun to play except for after every time I play I get shown a Disney solitaire ad that gets stuck and I can’t get out of it. I have to close the app and restart it. It’s made it too annoying to play anymore

I used to be able to easily launch this. Now, every time I launch, it makes me sign in through Facebook. Glitches often…and even worse if I’m not currently signed into Facebook. Very frustrating.

OBSCENE ADS
Obscene in both amount and content. It’s already a serious problem that you LITERALLY have to watch ads THE EXACT SAME AMOUNT OF TIME that you play. I have actually timed it. If you are on this app for 30 minutes, you have spent 15 of it watching ads. But some of the ads contain graphic sexual content. Pretty surprising and almost funny to a grandma like myself but not cool to think that preteens or teens might be playing this game as well.
Of course you can avoid that with the paid version which may be worth it.
