I don’t think I would have purchased any Sonos products, despite how great the hardware sounds, if I had any idea what a buggy mess the app is. Drops connectivity to external music apps randomly, presents “failure to play track” all the time, Sonos stations are a joke and contain ads despite the price of the hardware. Really, really disappointing stuff.

Sonos broke it again….
Ever since the new release, I’ve only had issues with my entire Sonos system, until a couple of weeks ago it started working every speaker all the time… Fast forward to today when they made another “update” and once again, I have speaker speakers in the house that shut off randomly and half won’t work.. this once great system is relegated to a POS paperweight with every update…
Sporadic connection
Connection to speakers is sporadic at best. Repair person says he has same issue. What’s up with that?

This app used to be so good. “Upgrades” over the last two years have made it almost unusable! (Stops responding. Volume controls unusable at low levels. Can’t find stuff…)
I have to switch to Apple Airplay often because this app just won’t work. You’ll see they never respond to reviews like this. They have built an ecosystem such that users cannot afford to switch so they don’t seem to care. They don’t fix the problems they’ve created. I’ve invested a lot in Sonos. CAN YOU PLEASE FIX THE APP.

Not compatible with APPLE MUSIC
The Sonos app has been nothing but trouble with Apple Music. It constantly freezes, fails to load playlists and every time there s an app update, the situation only seems to get worse

Most user unfriendly app and device I’ve ever had. If I hadn’t spent so much money on it, I would’ve thrown it in the garbage.
The app is so so bad
That’s the review. It’s so so bad. Restart. Reinstall. Speakers not recognized. Speakers not found. Restart the router. Something went wrong. Hard reset. Soft restart. Unplug. Add. Re-add. Reinstall. Restart your device. Reconnect your speakers. Something went wrong.
Rinse and repeat in the same frustrating loop.
Trash app for such fantastic speakers I get to hear only if the stars align. I can’t believe it’s this bad. I would have invested in an entirely different sound ecosystem had I known.

Drop drop drop
Music constantly drops. Sometimes one speaker and then another back and forth. Sonos will tell you there is interference on your network but all the other devices on my network have zero issues running without dropping constantly. Oh wow it just dropped while I’m writing this review. It’s remarkable that Sonos still exists. Stay far away from this product.
Sans 1st ~15sec
Nobody wants to hear the first ~15 seconds of their favorite song anyway. Super glitchy. 8yr user here who suffers Sonos b/c I love to hate it.

Inter-operability with TSLA is garbage. I click radio and it’s the same playlist every day.
Can’t change volume in Spotify using volume keys.
As title says. Every other app does it. I read all the nonsense of whose fault it is - Apple’s, Spotify’s, Sonos’s - I DO T CARE. MAKE IT WORK!
Drops Constantly
We just want to listen to our speakers. Sometimes works. Sometimes starts well and drops. Some times goes along while and then drops. Maybe it’s us. But can’t find any help on it. Makes no senses.

Update caused loss of previously working connections
Have 2 Sonos connected to the app, with latest update, all are gone and can not get them connected again. Ready to throw out all my Sonos equipment as the app doesn’t allow me to use them at all.

Great speaker, terrible app
The Sonos app is a nightmare to use. It loads/buffers poorly, the queue is incredibly unreliable and way to easy to delete unintentionally, the interface is unintuitive. Bad UX, and Sonos speakers are even more buggy to use without the app. For an expensive, high-end product, this is very disappointing. I've had the app and speaker for several years at this point and expected more improvement by now.

Horrible App Makes Hardware Useless
The app is SO laggy and continuously has connection issues. It’s a big frustration in my life - I can’t just listen to my music when I want to. Never investing in Sonos hardware again.
Constant updates
Every time there is an update to the app, the system has to reconnect to the network. And, it’s constant. They need to get their engineers on the ball to stream line the process.

Great sound at first but then lost connectivity. Continuous attempts multiple times and still cannot get Arc and 300s to work as advertised. Deleting system and starting from scratch didn’t even work. It doesn’t work by itself either. Tried new account too. They don’t let you change your email even though it’s supposed to.

No way app store rating is this high for diluted app. Reauthorize apple music every time app is open. Plays on sonos and phone. What a f up app. The app performance is why I longer buy Sonos products or recommend. Too many errors, constantly sign in errors. At the pricepoint they charge, app needs to match quality. Worse app ever which is reason I sold all my sonos!

Absolute garbage experience. I am completely locked out of adding my Deezer account to my Sonos system. I know my login credentials are 100% correct because they work perfectly fine on the regular Deezer app, but the Sonos app constantly throws a generic "Deezer wasn't added - Something went wrong" error screen.
I have wasted hours trying to fix this myself. I fully powered down my phone, turned it back on, restarted the Sonos app, completely unpaired my speaker, and tried setting the entire system up again from scratch. Nothing works. The software is completely broken and fails to authenticate music services. For the price of these speakers, the app should work flawlessly. Fix your backend servers. 1 star.

Performance still bad
A year after downgrading performance and promising to do better, the Sonos app remains suboptimal. When using with Spotify the app still struggles to transition and the interface remains unfriendly

Terrible Update
I’m joining the choir in the tune that this update wreaks of failed research and development. What is the equivalent to shrinkflation in tech because it’s Sonos. The update has managed to make my Sonos experience even worse. I was already having connectivity issues with it constantly disconnecting from my Apple TV and having to unplug the device just to switch between content formats in order to use it. Now I can’t locate something as simple as an alarm… and good luck getting a representative who actually understands a basic level of communication to help you troubleshoot the problem. This company’s practices and consistent failure to improve upon what should be a simple concept never ceases to amaze me. I’ve invested entirely too much in this system to deal with this.
Still terrible
Ever since the “upgrade” a few years ago it has never worked well. If you like glitches you will love it. Today it shows nothing playing yet all speakers are on. But then selecting one speaker starts a different station while all the others continue to play despite showing no station. Also Pandora frequently craps out and needs to be authorized and did I mention no way to play your own music easily? Basically forces you to streaming services.
