i love when apps try to invade my privacy with dystopian big-brother id verification and THEN proceed to throw up error after error during registration. maybe focus on making an app that works instead bc this aint it

Is this app working? I cant sign in

I really want to use the app but it crashes when I’m trying to select my native language. I can’t get past the set up.

I cannot even login

I had been using this app for months but the last time I wanted log in, I couldn’t. Then I checked the website of the app and saw that I had been blocked by the app. I hope they’ll figure this out soon because I was enjoying using the app.

The application doesn't work for me. It was excellent before. I don't know what happened after the last update.

1. Why don't u tell me the username cannot be changed when I was asked to type it? And if it cannot be changed, it should be called ”ID”, not ”USERNAME”!
2. Doesn't support non-English username is hilarious for an language learning APP.

Full of people trying to take your personal info and money with multi accounts and sometimes different names, happened to me with at least 10 conversations…

If you’re looking to exchange language partners or have a normal conversation with a normal person then don’t waste even one second on this platform, because there are a bunch of male perverts who like to show their private parts and also a lot of male frauds as well. I just uninstalled this app after playing it for just one hour.

This app is very dangerous for young girls, especially teens. It’s just grown men asking for pictures and saying inappropriate comments, when you don’t respond they get angry at you, they hardly want to learn any languages, some might talk to you for a bit and start flirting with you, a 32 YEAR OLD asked me, an 18 year old, if he can sleep with me, what the heck? And like 12 others did the same thing. Only found TWO nice people on this app, one just talked about homeless people in America and they other just exchanged interest, if you are a teen girl, PLEASE stay away from this app, get hellotalk or something, or just find friends somewhere else. BUT PLEASE stay away from here. Case closed💪🔥🔥🔥🙏🙏 btw I love Tyler the creator ykwim?

Within minutes of installing the app I got an influx of messages with links to pornography or pickup lines reminiscent of Tinder. No one from any language I wanted to study was on. I deleted the app within 10 minutes of installing it

Nobody is replying or better yet receiving my messages, it’s like I’m talking to myself. This is weird app

This app is impossible to use because I get a message every 30 seconds from someone who thinks it’s a dating app. I just want to practice a new language. I don’t need a boyfriend or a hookup from this app. It’s unusable. There is also no reason why people who aren’t even specced into my desired language should be messaging me at all. It should only show my profile to people who speak the language I want to practice. It does me absolutely no good as an American English speaker to be bombarded by American English speaking men.

and they don’t answer my emails. No help from anyone! Such a horrible app!!!!! No support. It’s a scam!

The worst app known to mankind….like what is this.? I was literally using the app just fine then one day I opened the app and it logged me out….like WTH! I tried to sign back in but it keeps showing error. Garbage app!! Not only the app but the people.. what a shame. I’d rate this lower if I could. 0.00002/10

I downloaded this hoping it would be more like other LE apps that are actually centered around language exchange. I had my account all of TWO minutes and my inbox was full of messages from creeps sending inappropriate things. I promptly deleted my account. This is disgusting and should be removed entirely. If you’re looking for a legit language exchange app, look elsewhere.

My first 2 minutes I got 7 inappropriate pics during Ramadan. I had my age as 14 years old and was exposed to these photos during the most holy month in my religion.

This app is filled with pedophiles and horny men! I am 16 and get messages from men age 20 and above (oldest age was 63 🫥) this app is beyond loser material! If you aren’t looking for a weird horny relationship with these men then dont download this app! I’m warning you

I gotten this app trying to learn Korean but the fist conversation I had was a man saying how horny he was and so I blocked him but it’s not only him, with that being said I’m about to delete this trashy app. Not just the people but the app itself is an awful quality app with awful quality people. I wish I can give this negative stars….

very weird app.. i just created my account and kept getting weird messages. i thought this was a language exchange app?? not what i was asking for.. a bunch of creepy people kept messaging me disgusting things

The server is constantly crashing and you can’t load the main screen or messages. This app is LOADED with horny losers aggressively harassing both men and women. I imagine this is exactly what a gay dating app must be like because that’s what Speaky basically is at this point. I don’t understand why these morons don’t just download some gay app. It’s also full of lonely hearts type scammers mostly from Thailand, Tunisia and Brazil.

Keeps disconnecting. Not happening with any other app so it’s definitely this one.

It’s a good concept. I love the idea. But please take away the pictures, literally within 3 minutes of using the app I had someone sending me nudes. I deleted my account because there’s no way I’m putting up with that.

Don’t purchase if you’re not 18 or older. This app is full off a whole bunch of weird people from different countries trying to get pictures and talk nasty to females. They don’t care about age. Be Careful of the app you go on with you pictures posted and be very mindful of what your children are using.

It’s a nice app. A lot of weirdo tho. But it kept signing me out and couldn’t let me sign in again! The app keeps saying operation failed or improving experience. But the problem never been fixed!!

I just downloaded the app, and I’m having trouble just filling out my bibliography/profile - the app quickly becomes terribly slow, requiring lots of waiting for the app to respond to typing a new letter. Latest iOS with iPhone 6s

Literally the minute I made my acc I got messages from pedos and bots luckily I’m older so ik how to rebute them but they were asking for n*des etc but if I were younger I would have actually fell for it. Parents don’t let ur kids use this app

While the interface was good, there was an obvious problem with the app: the spam. I first made a female profile and decided to join the app. Within minutes I was delighted to find that I had instantly received two messages! Then, I realized that the messages were suspicious in nature, with one having an explicit profile picture. I blocked the accounts and continued searching for language partners. I noticed that there were three duplicates of the same profile, with slightly different wording. Then, I checked my profile again and found that I had been contacted by many more people, most of which were 18+. As a teenage female, I received a message from a 44 year old man. This was all within 10 minutes of joining the app! So, I deleted my profile as I was uncomfortable with the thought of being continuously contacted by scammers and inappropriate older men. As a experiment, I made a male profile and joined the website. As I assumed, I received no messages. I worry about scammers and inappropriate older people trying to scam young girls (and boys) who are vulnerable and simply want to practice a language! To the developers: I very much appreciate the concept, and it seems executed very well. It was very easy to navigate and not clunky in the least! The design was good, and a however made this did a VERY excellent job. Furthermore, the accessibility of the app was great! I especially appreciated how you added options to search for different ages and languages. I appreciated how easy it was to make a profile, but perhaps that is the problem. I no longer have the app downloaded, as I cannot deal with the scammers and explicit people. As most of the reviews were positive, I wanted to let you know that the app was relatively unsafe. I think it has a lot of potential as an app, but I feel that you need to do something more about the scammers. Perhaps you could give users the ability to only get contacted by people in the same age range/languages. Also, you could do some kinds of profile review that makes sure everything seems legitimate. I don’t really know, but the point is that while the app seemed very exciting and excellently made, the scammers inevitably drove me (and probably others) from feeling safe and secure on the app. I understand that the developers cannot entirely limit the scammers, but there are somethings that could be put into place to make the app better. Speaky glitches so bad I can’t use it. After the first few sentences the typing becomes glacial- I have to wait several seconds in between keystrokes. That’s when it can even connect Me. About two thirds of the time it can’t find a network connection or simply says “something went wrong”. Mind you, I can stream video all day long. It’s not a problem on My end. I can conduct live video conference calls on other apps with zero problems- only Speaky has this issue.
What makes it even more sad is that a few years ago I was on Speaky and Loved it. It’s the greatest platform for finding language exchange partners, bar none. Even Tandem isn’t as good- smaller userbase that’s less communicative and more self-censored. Speaky is large and active and very open. And like I said I loved it, but whatever updates they made, it just doesn’t work anymore, which is sad. Even the website doesn’t work. 🤷‍♂️
