Game is getting bigger in size and always have bugs in every release
I have been playing this game for a while. The App store page shows a memory size of 337MB, but the last I checked on my iPhone is over 12GB and over 19GB on my iPad.
The developer of the game is trying to offer new story line in every monthly release, to keep the game interesting. But each time when something new is introduced, it causes something else to break in the game. I never seen a game that crashes many times a day and you’ll need to restart. When you start seeing pink squares on all the material mining nodes in the game, it’s time for a reboot.
And with new stories each month, there are new ships to build and new hostile ships to destroy, to get the new materials to build the new ships. But this also increases the amount of daily grinding you have to perform to keep up with the game. There’s so much to do daily that sometimes I just don’t do some of the daily grindings.
And the game gives you free stuff to collect everyday. But as the stories are added and new ships to build, the amount of free stuff to collect grows as well. You’ll have to click about 150 times a day (and growing), just to collect them all. And each time you click, the game keep displaying its title page “Star Trek Fleet Command” before giving you the free stuff. Yes, I know the name of this game, why do you have to remind me each time I click.
The game is getting to a point where I’m waiting for it to break, and the developer can’t bring the game back up. One time the game was down for a day because of a bug introduced. The game has many noticeable lag time as well and delays in earning the scores. And when the lag is really bad, the game would blame it on a bad Internet connection, and automatically reboots the game. I have 1GB Internet speed and my other apps don’t experience this lag.
Many other players had quit the game. The developer had attempted an event, to get you to invite back players that had quit so you get a measly prize for it. Very pathetic attempt that I don’t think any players had participated.
For now, I probably will stick around just to wait for the game to stop running, and say goodbye to my teammates on Discord. Some of my teammates are thinking the same, on when the game will be turned off.

A Buggy Money Grab Wrapped in IP That We Love
I have played this game for 6 years and wish I had all of the time and money I invested in the game back. Even as a player that has spent more than the vast majority of users, I am shocked by how the developer has changed the game to be more blatantly a money grab and hostile toward free-to-play users. The game’s bugs and customer service are also inexcusable. For example, today I spent $99 on a pack for an alliance event but it didn’t register for the event. When I contacted customer service, they kept me on hold on their online chat for 4 hours and counting (yes, I am still on hold) without any resolution. This is not the first time.
They simply don’t care
Game gets worse and worse with every update, empty promises to “fix” things yet the same glitches and bugs exist after the last 8 years
Cash grab gets worse and worse
First, the clickfest: you’ll spend 30 minutes each day, pressing claim buttons spread around the UI, for things that you need to progress.
Scopely just updated the Alliance Tournament, which runs every few weeks. The last one was two weeks ago.
Five days; you can do up to three tasks per day. Their great idea: remove many tasks that players could complete without paying. Add tasks that cost $200 to complete.
That’s right, you can pay $3k to max your score in alliance tournaments, every 2-4 weeks or so.

Money Pit - Don’t Download
*responding to Dopely. The problem isn’t that this game is “progression and purchase”. The problem is Dopely dramatically increased the cost for everything and reduced the rewards at the same time. In addition to that, the game is incredibly UNSTABLE and full of bugs. It crashes, it’s laggy as hell, and it has years old bugs they don’t fix probably because they don’t know how to fix them or fix the base code of the game.
To summarize, they made it more expensive to progress slower and don’t fix any of the bugs.
Don’t get this game, don’t waste your time or money, you will regret it!
For *Star Trek* fans, Star Trek Fleet Command is a frustrating disappointment that trades the franchise’s core values-exploration, diplomacy, and thoughtful storytelling-for a shallow, heavily monetized grind; progress is effectively locked behind constant spending, gameplay is repetitive and uninspired, and beloved characters are reduced to little more than marketing hooks, making the whole experience feel less like a celebration of *Star Trek* and more like an exploitative cash grab wearing a familiar uniform.
If I could give it zero stars I would. The developers (Scopely - aka Saudis) don’t care about the franchise or the community and have attempted to force through changes that require increased heavy spending.
Don’t get into this game and waste your time, it gets progressively worse if you keep going and to compete with other players.

Avoid at all costs
I’ve been playing this game for several years and continue to watch the game deteriorate into an obvious and clear money grab.
It’s by far the most bug riddled, glitchy, laggy, sad excuse for an MMO I’ve ever played. This game is built on very old technology and is worlds behind other less successful games. There is also no quality control and each new arc is the same repetitive game play. They have effectively run out of ways to make this game different or “fun”.
The worst part? The developers know it and they do very little about it. Bugs that have been in the game for years go unaddressed. Gameplay issues go unaddressed. Quality of life improvements are few and far between.
There is nothing “fun” about this game. The success of this game is 100% based on the Star Trek IP. Fans of the Star Trek universe get suckered into this game because of their dedication and love for it. Paramount should pull all rights from this game IMO as it’s the most lack-luster Star Trek experience available.
If you enjoy clicking triangles - waiting for months (literally) for progression, or paying money to decrease monotony, then this game is for you.

They’re really ***ing the pooch
Every game has a right to make money. This game introduces ridiculous milestones to well-established mechanics with little to no warning and ignores player feedback. Don’t join until they turn it into a thing that attracts new players rather than squeezing the ones they have already.
Bunch of strewn together smaller games segment
This game has become nothing but a bunch of sub games that they try to make into a cohesive game. The mechanics don’t line up and they release new content without making the old stuff workable
Stop ruining the game
This game has brought me countless hours of joy and camaraderie over 5 years, but that’s all been sucked away by technical issues on steroids, hostiles that are so hard I can’t complete my dailies, events requiring $$$, and NOW tournaments, the ONE fun thing we had left, turned into yet another cash grab. I keep hoping you’ll fix this-I keep hanging on. Meantime, other players are leaving in droves! Have you noticed? Do you care? Do something before I have no one to play with!
Bugs, Greed, and Frustration
This game has become nothing but bugs, and while they keep introducing new content and breaking core game features they give you less free to play paths. Even the battle pass isn’t worth the money anymore. I’m done with this game!!! Oh and don’t worry because every update comes with the requirement of a $100 ship to play the new content, new $$$ bridge crew, and another list of chores for free to play people to do to try to keep up. This game isn’t fun it’s a 9-5 job that comes with little to no reward. Save yourself and just pass on to something better!!!
New players beware
I rarely write reviews about games but I have to write one here
If your a new player: find a different game…this developer only cares about how much money they can gouge from you. Changes made to help the player base are solely pay to play rewards for events and gameplay are garbage and don’t encourage me to try to engage in. Tickets largely go unanswered. The recent Alliance tournament changes set that event back and made it nearly impossible to compete in unless you dump hundreds of dollars into game…..

Used to like it until
I used to like this game until it flooded my other phone last night with way too many over and over broken Record commercials of Star Trek fleet command so now I’m deleting it
Broken game
The developers are more interested in new content for the pay to play people. It would be nice if the actually fix the existing issues/bugs instead of the new content on occasion. I have almost quit a few times and most likely will unless I see drastic improvements. There are so many things to do in the game that it seems like a part time job. They need to put the fun back into the game.
Game has changed
Game used to be much much better. Bugs and issues have gotten completely out of control and the money grab from Scopely has gotten unbearable. They’ve ruined a good game.
Lost touch with their customers
The GM is not interested in good customer experience. Only puts out pay to play events while increasing bugs and lag.
Greedy company
They are totally out of touch with their customers and player base
Dumpster Fire - Don’t Bother
The latest update, #90 nuked the game completely. Took away much of the fun, upped the grind and added new loops that require hours to complete. I’ve been playing since June 2020 and am done. Unless you are willing to spend thousands $$, don’t bother. Scopely has decided to completely eliminate any F2P players and focus on whales who will spend. They want to replace the current player base and attract new ones. I don’t think it a winning business model but I could definitely be wrong. I won’t be a part of it though.
Driven by greed
This game has lost it’s way in it’s current state. Recent changes has driven away players or is pushing them to stop playing. All recent changes have not been made for the better of the player but an attempt to make a quick buck, but how will the game make anything if its player base leaves.
Cash grab
Seems like the entire game had become one big cash grab. Don’t download
Circling the drain
This was once a great game. Now it is a complete, bug filled, cash grab. DO NOT DOWNLOAD. Avoid at all costs.
The worst
This game is the worst now. Everything requires spend. Previously fun events are being replaced with things needing multiple $99 packs to participate. Do yourself a favor and never download this
Utter trash game
All spend events now …look to other games this one is just trash
Game is being RUINED!
The developers are slowly killing this game and driving away the player base! Nothing but a pure cash grab at this point. While I understand the game is funded by purchases, they refuse to put anything that might be useful in the store for less than $100. Just today they changed their Alliance Tournament event. It morphed from a fun monthly event to a now “spend or you lose” event! I wouldn’t recommend anybody getting started fresh in this game at this point!!
Scopely, ‘immersive’ does not mean what you think it means Re: frequent use of word in App Store
Off the top of my head, this is perhaps the most tedious and poorly developed studio produced games of all time. It is built from the ground up to addict users and through deception as well as blatant brute force expungement of in-game resources (items purchase themselves, ships kamikaze or retreat to base themselves, items and rewards purchased or earned will never see your inventory and purchase menus frequently rubberband at the exact moment you tap it tricking you into purchasing something you don’t tend to purchase), coerce players into habitually spending $100-$500 a month. Once you’ve been conditioned to playing upwards of 18-20 hours during certain event windows, buying some time to sleep and eat seems like a bargain for $100 once you’ve been hooked by the promise of progression (which is rarely actually perceivable). The game itself is clunky, rife with glitches and as unstable as it gets. It is never a joy to play and only on rare occasion when player-detectable progression actually occurs does the game approach feeling satisfactory. I would not describe the gameplay as fun at any time, and truly consider this more of a game-like social media lobby hub, which can be customized using an integrated digital goods market place. Every interaction with this game-like social media software product involves clicking a yellow exclamation mark, then waiting… either for a time to countdown so you can click it again, or for a tiny generic arrow that represents your spacecraft to move to the yellow exclamation point you’ve clicked which lies across a lifeless, wholly uninteractive universe (most enemies do not even attack, rather players tediously click tiny generic enemy triangles, which you guessed it, initiates a long, strangely quiet and disengaged attack event with yet another timer to tick down before battle results are displayed… yeah you don’t actually get to watch dynamic battle animations, just a stupidly long battle log filled with hundreds or even thousands of dice rolls that is utterly devoid of elegance to the point it is rarely useful) in-game events are depicted using sprite based dialogue windows, sans artistic flourishes that might add some much b desired charm and personality to the lackluster proceedings. Lacking most or all base level examples of a polished video game experience, such as voice performed dialogue, dynamic music, sound effects/licensed voice over catchphrases/any sound cue whatsoever during essential inputs and map interactions makes the game feel fully primitive and amateurish. In consideration that no effort has been made after several
years of content updates for the game-like social & digital media store hub to invoke even a smidgeon of immersion, the banal and primitive design concepts which permeate the entire game go from appearing laughable to indicators of unethical and avarice-motivated fiduciary practices on the part of Scopely. All of the written dialogue is generally a run-on cliche, with out-of-character characterizations comprising the vast majority of its scripted dialogues. Further, there is one type of mission: seek and destroy. And that also happens to be the only type of event that exists, besides spending in game resources as quickly as you acquire them (or not being able to progress for weeks while the game starves you), assuming the in game menus are not crashing the game or that the game servers don’t outright ignore user input/token tallying and in the process withhold even digital goods the player has purchased with government issued currency. Scopely Sr Management should be serving a six month stint in prison for fraud in my eyes. Amongst the worst video games of all time, and as mentioned, even referring to this social media hub connected digital goods platform is being rather generous.

Unstable game and corporate greed
I have played this game for almost 5 years. Just deleted from my phone. The game developers are only concerned with fattening their pockets and not fixing problems. They want you to buy more packs and then nerf the content in their favor. Game used to be fun, but now they have charged the fun out of it.
Stay Away
This game developer is cancer
A once great game, currently cratering
I have played this game for more than seven years; over that time it has had its ups and downs. Unfortunately, the company has decided to try to squeeze every last dime out of its players and, rather than fix bugs and improve the game, continually create new things to buy. I’m not against the company making money, but ignoring game issues and attacking the players at their wallets has led to a massive downgrade in quality and interest.
Caution
This is a game that does not want to have you spend money because you enjoy the game. It is a game that does not work properly and player lead work around will always be resolved. Can not offer stable gameplay. A game should offer fun and not frustration.
Repeatedly unstable and becoming a F2P unfriendly
I have played this game for years. I cannot in good conscience recommend downloading this game.
This game is nearly always unstable and requires numerous restarts on iOS in order to conduct basic game play. Attempt to fix the game code repeatedly introduce more glitches than fixes.
Also, game designers have become increasingly hostile to Free to Play (F2P) player base by repeatedly decreasing in game rewards to these players and introducing pay walls.

Pay to Win
Can’t just play as All features are not free to play and require spending literally hundreds of dollar each and every month JUST to keep up with all the monthly changes and challenges.. support is almost nonexistent with layers of hassles just to report any issue vs any real in game live support
Warp Speed Away
This game used to be good, but now days it’s just a total Klingon blood wine hangover. Events don’t work, spend most of your time fighting with support to get rewards that you earned but not given. Events being canceled because Scopely can’t get them to run. Save yourself a headache and pass on this game.
Have never rec’d this game to friends
Long time player. Constant bugs. Always adding content. Much of the new content immediately not working. Old content gets broken by proxy. Few things get fixed. Nothing is tested or reviewed before launch of new content. For example, they had art that strongly resembled an easily identifiable hate symbol make it into 4/28/26 content release. An easy review of max two random office workers would have caught this before release. That’s how little anything gets looked at.
(Note: Yes, it did get changed. It was one thing that did get acknowledged.)
If you find their discord, look at Known Issues. They are constantly adding new ones. 8 major items got added within 8 hours of release day.
Would you want to rec this game to a friend or family?
Oh, and then they try to charge you money for everything.
Better off with non-Scopely games.

So bad
So bad
Deepend
The addition of the Star Trek Academy update is a massive misstep. Beyond the writing being incredibly weak, it completely fails to capture the tone and style that defines the genre. It feels like the developers are running out of meaningful material and are now just using the Star Trek name as a skin for generic content. I would have much preferred original, well-crafted stories over this hollow attempt at expanding the lore. It just isn't Star Trek anymore.
Not worth the effort
This game like other games is gears for “pay to win”. The difference is that the product they put out is so sub standard it should be illegal. The game itself is unstable and scopley doesn’t care. At this point it’s not even Star Trek anymore. Every time they release something that actually helps players they take it away. So do yourself a favor and find something else to play.
Unbridled greed
I have enjoyed this game for over a year and it’s been steadily declining. This update however has been a plunge into a volcano.
Scopley has completed ignored its player base on many occasions to push new content without fixing stability or improving gameplay. This latest update is removing a player favorite, especially free to play players, way of obtaining rare and epic officers. Scopley frequently makes being free to play more and more difficult and is pushing for players to level up quicker to push people to spend money
If you have unlimited free time or deep pockets and don’t mind restarting your game frequently due to bugs and game breaking glitches then this game still offers some fun within the Star Trek universe. Unfortunately I can no longer recommend this game to my friends due to the lack of care for its player base by the developers

A Has Been
I m getting myself ready to give this game up cold turkey after playing for about five years. It was very entertaining and addictive initially. But it has become bogged down, and experiences frequent glitches and lag is more common than not. The user base is shrinking as Scopley keeps adding loops in an attempt to take in more money.
Used to be fun
Been playing the game for 7 years- it has always been glitchy but was engaging and entertaining. With the new arc it is evident that Scopely really hates their customers. Game is just a money grab now. Shame on Scopely for ruining the game.
7 years playing.
I’ve been playing STFC for about 7 years now. I still play it to this day. The reason why I’m giving this game a 1 star is because of the lack of care the company has for repairing the game. The game has lag, glitches, bugs, unfixed items/gameplay that has been ignore for years. Scoply has lied for years to the players about such fixes and promised for a balanced game with the saying “quality over quantity”. It’s clear to the long time players that it’s all talk and all the company cares for is selling more items in game then dedicating time to repair the game for their players. Do yourself a favor and pass on this game. There is more fun, engaging and stable games out there.
Racist players
Game is full of racist players and the developers ignore the issue as most of the racists pay to play the game. Would never recommend this game to anyone. Also the game won’t let you advance to higher levels if you don’t pay. Why would anyone pay to continue playing with racists.

Cannot even log on after update. Freezes on loading screen.
New update more bugs
Players are leaving because game down as much as it working
Unfun PvP Focus
PvP is not optional, and even if you have a good guild, you get smoked by trolls. Avoid.
Skip over, don’t download, broken game
Absolutely pay to win! Do not play unless you want to pay and then lose all that money! Plus the game has a million bugs and the developers just want money so they release more broken script and do absolutely nothing about the current million bugs, screwuply is their new name, my advice just don’t play and teach these greedy people a lesson just maybe they might fix things without a player base, literally the only reason people play is nostalgia not because this game is good! That’s sad sad sad!
Pay to play
Need to just shut game down. Developers don’t care that game doesn’t work, they just keep adding more junk that doesn’t work.
Lag and connection issues bugs and broken glitches .
Very frustrating and expensive . It’s even worse now than ever .
Star Trek Lag/Bug Comander
The title says it all each update adds more lag and more bugs. The devs promised about 2 years ago quality over quantity. We got lots of quantity and almost no quality. The whole quality over quantity is a giant joke to the player base now. If not for the great people in my fleet I would have already left the game.
Liars
Customer service reps lie through their faces & scopely don’t care because it gives them more money when they rip you off. They refuse to fix their freaking mistakes terrible terrible customer service
Death Spiral
I’ve played this game for about 4-5 years and I’m pretty much done with it. Every month the developers release a new time devouring grind without addressing serious Lag, Ship and Game sync issues, Visual Glitches, Ship Ability issues, and General Bugs. They ignore quality of play issues brought up by players. They once setup a meeting with some of the top spenders in the game to actually hear them out on ideas to improve things…..then blew them off and cancelled at the last minute. No explanation, no re-schedule. The developers know the game is doomed because of the sharp decline in actual active players and are milking every last drop of potential profit out of big spenders before the whole thing implodes. It’s sad because I used to love playing this game. Hard pass on this game.
Game is not supported at its core and it’s really obvious now
Cash grab by Scopely each month rather than fix the core game experience. Someone needs to make stfc 2.0 fast
